I am creating a roulette program that I converted from C++ to Java. Why its not finding the main class. Therefore it will not compile. Heres the code:
import java.util.Scanner;
public class P1RouletteDB
{
// This program demonstrates the use use multiple arrays to play a roulette game.
//Also a random number will generated to be used as the ball in the game. The user will be provided the random number to test the win algorithms
// Program Set 2 Roulette Game
// Global constants
public static final int COLS = 3; // Number of columns in each array
I am a begMy task is to write a program that plays the "Hi Lo guessing game." The program runs smoothly. However, it does not proceed to the next game after the previous game is done. I need to add a "play again" choice to the program so that the user will continue to play until they have chosen to quit. I have tried several different ways but each one has failed. I am completely stuck on this. I have attached my code to this.
So, after my graphics card melted down, I decided to use a chat program because I can't play the game server which I am staff on. I've downloaded this:
CactusChat: MC 1.7.4 - 1.7.5 chat client for Windows, Mac and Linux Operating Systems | EcoCityCraft Economy | Minecraft Servers
After I knew it was a .jar file, it would basically fail, I would launch it, it turns into a cmd for 0.5 seconds, and closes without any progress. Typical, and expected.I downloaded the latest java update, removed 3 older versions, and now my Java SE Binary program went missing. I can't even launch it, and it tells me to look for another program to launch it with.
class blackjack { public static void main ( String[] args ) { Random r = new Random(); Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); String money; String name;
[Code]...
I know people will want me to tidy it up, or do it "their" way, but honestly I just need method of getting the user to press h or s and have the program continue under it's own steam.
Im trying to make a tic tac toe game that you play against the computer using a random number generator and two dimensional arrays for the game board. Im not trying to make a GUI, the assignment is to have the board in the console, which I have done. I have run into a few problems with trying to get the computer player to correctly generate 2 integers and have those two integers be a place on the game board. Here is my code so far.
import java.util.Random; import java.util.Scanner; public class TicTacToe { private static Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); private static char[][] board = new char[3][3]; public static int row, col;
I am attempting to grab stock prices for an array of different stock tickers. In my code, I iterate through the array of stock tickers and at the same time, grab the stock prices from an API. Then, I store the stock prices into a new array and attempt to display the new array.
For example: An array element may contain 'AAPL' as a stock ticker. The for loop enters this element into the URL which links to an API, grabs the stock prices, stores it into a temporary variable. Then it stores the value (the stock price) of that temporary variable in to a new array. Then the new array will attempt to print out this stock price along with all the other stock prices.
Here is my code:
public static void getStock(String[] tickers) { for (i = 0; i < tickers.length; i++) { try { URL url = new URL("http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public
[Code] .....
The above code works fine if I am printing the stock prices from inside the for loop. And I can see why, it enters and prints the new stock price in the new array through each loop.
My problem is, I do not know how to access the new array (stockOutput) outside of the for loop, or how to display its contents outside of the for loop.
I am trying to complete an assignment and I am stuck on a key point. I must print the total inventory value across each of these arrays, as it prints for each "list". To do this, I understand that I need some form of correlation between my variables "total" and "Price" between each array. My quandary lies in the way that I have designed this code to begin with. I am not sure where to add the math section of code that is needed, nor am I fluent enough with Java to know how to call all of the arrays as it prints. Listed below is my code, when you compile it the total inventory value is 0 for each "list".
package inventory; public class Inventory { public static void main (String[] args) { List[]list = new List[5];
For our final project we're making a game. I'm "trying" to do battleship in 2D, but its not going well. at all. I've started it but how to get the arrays which are my rows in the game to printout, and i need to put them into a seperate method and all them.
package roulette; import java.util.*; public class Roulette { public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in);
[Code] ....
This is were its going wrong if i just do a straight "spin" it works but when i try and add additional bets into an array for future comparrison it simply kicks out to my "do" statements says you have quit and acts like i simply hit spin.
I want java coding for roulette wheel selection in genetic algorithm with some explanation. I can't understand the algorithm clearly to implement in my project ...
I have come across an issue with arraylists. I am writing a text based RPG game as something to start with ...
Initially I had a single zone which was all stored in an arraylist and everything was working in regards to the player moving around. The problem I now have is how to add further zones to my game. Ideally I would like an arraylist for each zone, and would use the below to create each arraylist
public static ArrayList<RoomsClass> castleMap = new ArrayList<>();
The problem I now have is how to handle the player moving, initially with a single zone/arraylist I could reference that arraylist directly
public void findRoomCoords(int ID) { for (int i = 0; i < castleMap.size(); i++) { if (castleMap.get(i).roomID.equals(ID)) { PLAYER.setCurrentRoomZone(castleMap.get(i).roomZone); PLAYER.setCurrentRoomX(castleMap.get(i).roomX); PLAYER.setCurrentRoomY(castleMap.get(i).roomY); PLAYER.setCurrentRoomZ(castleMap.get(i).roomZ); } } }
My initial thought was to use a getter/setter to remove the reference of castleMap from my movement code in order to access different arraylists, however this is where things have fallen over, I can't seem to work out how to get the arraylist name to change, depending on the outcome of the setZoneMap() method.
public void setZoneMap() { switch (PLAYER.getCurrentRoomZone()) { case 0: { zoneMap = Castle.castleMap; break;
So I am trying to create a Multi-Player game in java, and I have a Game server and a Client. They normally connect with either but I would like to add a login server so that there can be an option to go to a different world then just the main one. It will have the same map and data but will be separate from the Players that are on world one per say. Now if you are on world two I would like it to have the option for you to be able to Private message players that are on World one. That is where the login server comes in to play.
I am still new at Java and would like to be able to understand Packets and how to handle them more clearly. So far I have gotten the basis of the login server connected to the server and the client connects to the server via the login server. But I am getting a bunch of "unhandled packets" and I would like to know how to handle them. Here are some bits of the code.
I decided to write a small Java program to experiment around with BorderLayout, because I'm developing a Java game and I need to have 2 objects placed in a single JFrame at the same time, and everyone I asked said I need BorderLayout to do that.Before you answer: Also, is using BorderLayout the best option for adding multiple video game oriented objects such a sprites to a JFrame?
So the Java program I wrote is supposed to place a JButton on the JFrame and ALSO place a graphic component (a rectangle in this case). The problem is, only the button shows up, as can be seen in the image link below: URL....
Here is the code:
**main.java** --> The main method class + JFrame/JPanel/JButton constructor import java.awt.BorderLayout; import javax.swing.JButton; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class main {
I mainly would like to know is a int[4][4] or a int [4*4] is more efficient to use. Which takes more storage? Which requires more to process? that kind of stuff.
I was looking at the Sound API pages in the java tutorials. I was planning to use it to run wma files. Fortunately, for me, I found, soon into the tutorials, that these API DON'T support the type I have all of my files in (I have a ton of wma files but none of the libraries mentioned support them.)
I almost thought I heard JavaFx or whatever it's called does, but that sounds foreign and Netbeans lists it as a separate type of java in a way, so I don't know if it would be cross-platform or if it could work with the JavaSE API.) Nor do I know what JavaSX or whatever it's called is really, other than that it's more for internet than application.
If I wanted a JPanel or Applet acting as the content pane of a JFrame or being in a JFrame, could I use JavaFX (or whatever it's called) or some third party library (that I always tend to end up spending hours on trying to get it to find the jar files when I import them, so I hope I don't need too many jar files!!!! ) would it work with the JavaSE API?
I don't know much about Java and playing sounds (other than that there is a static method, I think under Toolkit, that will play a system beep) with programs.
However, I can see that that packages don't support certain types (so much for cross-platform!!!!!!! ) and also that a while back that Oracle took over and that they aren't really updating the Java Sound APIs really that much at all
So, without having to learn a whole new Java set of standards (assuming JavaFX or whatever it's called is a different set of standards from JavaSE), is there a way to play .wma?
That's all I seem to have on my computer.
(I suppose I could create new sounds, though if Oracle isn't updating the library, who knows if even that works anymore, but if you're trying to run a Java Media Player that runs lots of DIFFERENT sound file types, this seems a real setback. )
I heard you could convert them to MP3s (I heard there were free things that did it, but who knows if the things aren't filled with viruses that'll do it or, even if they're not, that they'll really mess up the quality of the sound and that I might lose the old .wma file in the process even if it doesn't corrupt the sound.)
But, even if I get a .mp3, I heard the main JavaSE libraries DON'T cover that either, though it was said it was easier to make it run them than .wma files.
MediaPlayer and the main JavaSE classes don't seem to be able to fit for this type of program (a java media player) that I was planning. Heck, they can't even play any music I have on my computer at all, media player or not.
I have i am trying to implement tooltip through javascript, like when we click on an image link tooltip should be displayed and it should have close button/ close image to close that tooltip.like the same way i will have multiple images on page, when ever i click on the images all tooltips should be displayed on the page when ever i want to close that then only it should close through close button on tooltip.can we do it through java script or will go for jquery.
What I want to do is very clear, just play sound and pause it. The problem is that I can't pause the music. When I click the pause button music keeps playing .I have been working on for 2 hours. I can't find the mistake; what am I doing wrong?
public class MainC extends JFrame implements Runnable,ActionListener { private JPanel contentPane; private JTextField txtname; JButton btnopen; JButton btnSave; JButton btnplay;
im trying to play a sound when button is clicked. here is the following code
InputStream in; try { in = new FileInputStream(new File("failure1.wav")); AudioStream audios = new AudioStream(in); AudioPlayer.player.start(audios); } catch (Exception e) { }
just wondering why it does load;
i do get the warning
warning: AudioStream is internal proprietary API and may be removed in a future release AudioStream audios = new AudioStream(in); warning: AudioStream is internal proprietary API and may be removed in a future release AudioStream audios = new AudioStream(in); warning: AudioPlayer is internal proprietary API and may be removed in a future release AudioPlayer.player.start(audios);
I wanted to build an mp3 player as a Java project. One crucial part of the project involves being able to play an mp3 fie. I am not able to find the right api (if one exists) and am not able to find a suitable answer when searching on the web. A simple code snippet illustrating the playing of mp3 file using Java program. Also, I am using Eclipse IDE and how to import files if any importing of files is required.
I am making a project that should play, stop, and loop three different songs (not at the same time). I am calling this SoundPlayer class from my main class:
import javax.sound.sampled.*; import java.util.*; public class SoundPlayer { List<AudioInputStream> songs = new ArrayList<AudioInputStream>(); int currentSong, currentPlayType;
[Code] ....
When my class calls setPlayType(2), which should make it play, I get the following runtime error:
java.lang.NullPointerException at SoundPlayer.playSong(SoundPlayer.java:32) at SoundPlayer.setPlayType(SoundPlayer.java:64) at MainPanel$AListener.actionPerformed(MainPanel.java:60) (...)
Line 32 is if(clip.isOpen()), but I'm pretty sure I instantiated clip properly in the constructor.
I used the following but there's an IOexception. How can I set it up so that it can play audio even after the jar is built?
public void play(){ InputStream in = null; try { in = new FileInputStream(new File(filename)); AudioStream audioStream = new AudioStream(in); AudioPlayer.player.start(audioStream); in.close();
How to insert and play a video or a music background in a java application. Let me explain better... I need to develop a game where sometime I need to show picture, or play videos and also, if is possible, add a music in background... I work with eclipse and I know quite good the main concept of java's language...
Question 1: Upon importing the Play Framework content in Eclipse there's a default codes as localhost:9000 is immediately routed to play framework website controllers, checked and running fine test, checked and running fine conf, checked and running fine the problem is the views under app on all youtube tutorials and other websites, the contents of views is editable but when my brother tried to, he cant edit it
Question 2: Is there an easy tutorial on POST, PUT, GET, and DELETE for eclipse-playframework
Question 3:my brother is using POSTMAN - RESTCLIENT to test his HTTP METHODS (post, put, get, and delete)and is there a tutorial where they also test the HTTP METHODS using POSTMAN?
I am new to Java, I am using Netbeans to create a simple GUI with one button that just says "play". I want this to play an mp3 file i specify. I have found code to simply play a WAV which works great.There is lots of information on the net about playing an mp3 but it's all long an complicated. There must be a simple way to just have java play an mp3 file.
