I have a java assignment concerning formatting. I know I have no syntax errors but that doesn't mean that my formatting is correct and I can't figure out how to create a .txt file and view my code in notepad just to verify the formatting.
This is probably more of a web-based question. I have a basic web crawler I wrote with Java (using JSoup) which crawls through our repositories and stuff to locate the paths to certain snapshots and whatnot. It crawls through using the file tree which gets exposed when you try to go to a directory in a URL.
The problem I am having is that some of the directories contain index files, which means the connection to the directory redirects from the file tree to the index file. Any way to prevent that redirection?
In my web application i want to upload file to drop-box. I am getting file name from browser.Is it possible to upload file to drop-box with only file name.
I am trying to remove a line based on user input. myFile.txt looks like:
Matt Brian John
However when I enter "Brian" (to remove this line), It is deleted on the temp file (myTempFile.txt), but not renamed back to the original file (myFile).
I need to view, update and insert records through a jsp page.example: Employee details..If we give an admission number of an employee, and if the admission number exists in the database then the details like Name, DOB, DOR, Address, Contact info should be displayed in the appropriate fields.(simply a select query in SQL) . The fields are editable and if we need to make any changes we can update in that details itself. If admission number doesn't exists means we can insert all the details except the admission number and a temporary admission number is generated and displayed. The problem with this is i can't able to revert it to the same page.
I am creating a web application that runs on server X(unix) and it has another unix system mounted on it. I want to generate the file tree structure of this mounted unix file system and show it on to a web application so that users can select a file and move it onto this current unix machine.
I know this sounds stupid and you may want to say why cant we directly copy the file, I am doing a proof of concept and using this as a basis.

I have worked on this project for probably 15+ hours and have tried so many things and feel like I've barley made any progress...
The part i am really struggling with is taking the data from the text file and creating an object array with it using the product class. Once ive accomplished that, i have to use that data to create a random access file with the data.
Here is the base Product class that must be used to create the objects for the array.

These continue for about 40-50 entries, they are not separated by a blank line though i had to add those so it would display correctly, each entry is on its own line with name separated with spaces, then price after a comma, then quantity after the second comma.....

New to programming. Am supposed to create a program that reads a text file (of integers) and computes a series of computations on these integers. I don't have the code for the integers in my code yet, (i know how to do those), but am struggling getting the array to simply print in the print writer. I am facing a problem while executing a task. My task is to make such a code which will search for my source code file (abc.java) in all directories and then displays the code in textarea inside frame and along with that i also have to display the path of the file in text field. This is a college course assignment that consists of classes TotalSales and TotalSalesTest.In the main program I have created a two dimensional array to output a columnar layout with cross-totals in 4 rows and 5 columns. This program outputs sales totals by row for each sales person(1 - 4) and output by column for products(1 - 5). I have created extra elements in the array to store total for rows and columns. So far both classes compiles. The problem is that although the PrintWriter creates a notepad file, it doesn't print to it. I don't seem to understand the input and output methods completely. I finished another program similar to this using basically the same try and catch that read the file and printed out a document in notepad. Here is the code and I'll try include the input file.
