How to read the excel sheet data and validate that null values are inserted or columns data exceeded with respected to header.and these validated data should be stored into 3 different tables... My requirement is college data excel sheet with combination of all groups like mba,mca,and etc...then re ad the data and find the groups then
1. give entry in the UP_LOAD_DATA_HIST table with this excel data uploading with this user and this date, 2. find the group of the department and save data into CATAGIRY_TBL. 3. Finally save the All data into the students table.
I have been trying to get this method to work for a few hours now, for some reason I get an IndexOutOfBounds exception every time. Basically I am trying to read a txt file and add the words to an ArrayList as strings separated by a space .
private ArrayList<String> readLinesFromFile(BufferedReader inputFile) throws IOException { String value = null; ArrayList<String> result = new ArrayList<String>(); while((value = inputFile.readLine()) != null){ String[] values = value.split(" "); for (int i = 0; i < values.length; i++){ result.add(values[i]); } } return result; }
New to programming. Am supposed to create a program that reads a text file (of integers) and computes a series of computations on these integers. I don't have the code for the integers in my code yet, (i know how to do those), but am struggling getting the array to simply print in the print writer. I have the user select a text file, read the file with a scanner, and then save the computations done from my code into another file. specifically, the problem is as follows: Write a program that uses a file chooser dialog to select a file containing some integers. The file contains an integer N followed by N integers. The program then uses a file chooser dialog to let the user specify the name and location of an output file to write results to.The data written to the output file will be as follows
(1) The original list of N numbers from the input file, (2) The original list of N numbers printed in reverse order of how they appear in the input file. (3) The sum and average of these numbers, (4) The minimum of all the numbers, (5) The maximum of all the numbers.
Well my code is supposed to ask for an input file and then (ex: input.txt), read the input file and create an output.txt file with the anagram for the words in the file. Also it should be displayed on the screen. However my code doesn't display the anagram on screen or the output file!
/* This program will read a file given by the user, read the words within the file and determine anagrams of the given words. If the file that the user inputs is empty, then the program will output "The input file is empty." * The program will read the file line by line, counting the total number of words read. If there are more than 50 words, "There are more than 50 words." * will be printed, and the program will terminate. After each line is read, the words in the line will be separated,punctuation characters will be removed, and upper case characters will be switched to lower case. * If any word is larger than 12 characters, that word will not be considered in the total amount of words in the file and it will not be sorted. * After each word is read, the letters will be sorted and stored into an array containing each * word's 'signature'. After all the words have been read, words will be printed to the output file on the same line based upon their signature. */
public class Anagram { //Creating constants for maximum words in file and maximum chars in word public static final int MAX_CHARS = 12; public static final int MAX_WORDS = 50;
Write a menu driven program that either accepts words and their meanings, or displays the list of words in lexicographical order (i.e. as in a dictionary). When an entry is to be added to the dictionary you must first enter the word as one string, and then enter the meaning as separate string. Another requirement - from time to time words become obsolete. When this happens, such word must be removed from the dictionary.
Use the JOptionPane class to enter the information.
Use the concept of linked list to carryout this exercise. You will need at minimum the following classes:
- A WordMeaning class that hold the name of a word and its meaning. - A WordMeaningNode class that creates the node of information and its link field. - A WordList class that creates and maintain a linked list of words and their meanings. - A Dictionary class that test your classes.
For the output, the program should produce two scrollable lists:
- The current list of words and their meanings. - The list of the deleted words. You need not list the meanings, just the words.
So far, I have everything coded except for the remove method, and I am not sure how to code that. I coded the add method already, but now I don't know where to begin with the remove method in my WordList class. My classes are below.
WordMeaning Class:
public class WordMeaning { String name; String definition; WordMeaning(String t, String d) { name = t; definition = d;
How to force browser to open/save/save as the file from server instead of browser cache.
I am creating a csv file through a pl/sql procedure and forwarding the link to user once user clicks on link he downloads the file, however if the same thing is repeated then browser returns the old cached file instead of new file generated on server.
I would like to syout on the console a line of a serialized object in this example I would like to have as output 80 20 in the console. How can i put the scroll to my code?
import java.io.*; public class Box implements Serializable{ public static void main (String[] args) throws ClassNotFoundException { Pond myBox = new Pond(); myBox.setWidth(70); myBox.setHeight(20);
I have problem with writing objects to file. The thing i want to do is write object(Measur) and then read it from Notepad++. Not from program, but normally from computer. When i'm opening my file i see patterns(i dont how to call this). I think, that I need write it as a string in some way. There is my code:
I am working on a project that requires me to build a database with random access file, representing products, the base product contains a name (about 30 characters), a price (double), and a quantity (integer). I have worked on this project for probably 15+ hours and have tried so many things and feel like I've barley made any progress...
The part i am really struggling with is taking the data from the text file and creating an object array with it using the product class. Once ive accomplished that, i have to use that data to create a random access file with the data.
Here is the base Product class that must be used to create the objects for the array.
public class Product { public String pName; public String stringName; public double price; public int quanity;
[Code] .....
And then here is the data from the text file that i must extract to use to create product objects.
These continue for about 40-50 entries, they are not separated by a blank line though i had to add those so it would display correctly, each entry is on its own line with name separated with spaces, then price after a comma, then quantity after the second comma.....
Create an equals method that takes an object reference and returns true if the given object equals this object.
Hint: You'll need 'instanceof' and cast to a (Geocache)
So far I have:
public boolean equals(Object O){ if(O instanceof Geocache){ Geocache j=(Geocache) O; if (this.equals(j)) //I know this is wrong... but I can't figure it out return true; }
else return false; }
I think I have it correct up to the casting but I don't understand what I'm suppose to do with the this.equals(). Also I'm getting an error that I'm not returning a boolean... I get this all the time in other problems. I don't get why since I have to instances of returning booleans in this. "returns true if the given object equals this object" makes no sense to me. I assume the given object, in my case, is 'O'. What is 'this' object referring to?
I'm very new to Java and need to write a program where the user inputs any number from -999 to 999 and it inputs it in words. For ex -24 entered would print negative twenty four or 800 entered would be eight hundred. I need to have at least 2 methods that need to be returned to the main method. When i compile, it says that cannot convert from void to java.lang.string for all the word = ... in my case statements.
import java.util.Scanner; public class NumToText { public static void main (String args[]){ Scanner input = new Scanner (System.in) ; System.out.println ("Enter number."); int number = input.nextInt ();
I wrote a code for a "skydiving" program that randomly selects the "maneuvers" to be performed by the skydiver during his skydive. I am almost done with the program. I just need to figure out how to print non repeated maneuvers for each round. Each round may not consist of two of the same maneuvers. The program that I wrote randomly picks the maneuvers but sometimes it still prints out two of the same maneuvers for each round.The following is my code.
import java.util.Scanner; import java.util.Random; ///v.0 public class Testpart2 {

I just started using java because i want to create a simple web service that will take some values from within a url and save those values in variables.
To be more specific:
For my project I use the Spring Tool Suite.
I want to be able to enter a URL in a browser.. something like "localhost:8080/test?name=Root". When I hit Enter a page will be displayed showing "Hello Root" if the name in the URL is Root or "Hello User" for any other name.
Here my code . Iam trying to open text file in window_pane it will open when i click on save it will ask destination to save file if i save example like Read.txt it will save...when i go and check in that folder Read.txt file won't found...what is the error ....
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import javax.swing.filechooser.FileFilter; import javax.swing.filechooser.FileNameExtensionFilter; import java.io.*; import java.net.MalformedURLException; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class Read extends JFrame
I have a program that asks you for your password and if it is incorrect it reduces your attempts until you are at zero, but I want to be able to tell the user what passwords they have attempted when they run out of attempts. I've tried a couple of things but how to get it to work. This is my code:
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class PasswordV4 { //Begin Class public static void main(String[] args) { //Begin main program //initialize variable int passwordAttempt = 5; int value = 0;
So my goal is to build a word search here. The road block I have run into is how to save words, input from user, into an array. Then once I figure that out I need to try and arrange them in such a way so that they will fit into my array without screwing with one another. It does not have to be working exceedingly well I mean really it can be assumed that the users will not try to screw the program up. Ie one or two words and a fairly large table will be all the input. Here is the program as of now:
import java.util.Random; import java.util.Scanner; public class BuildWS { int r; int c; char[][] array; String query = " ";

I was browsing around and I found a question asking to find how many times a word occurred in a sentence. I am using a hashtable, over kill yes but I need to use them more. However my counter is not working, not really sure why.You can see in the main method I have two repeating names but it returns 0.
package frequency; import java.util.Hashtable; public class CheckFrequency { hashtable<String, Word> words = new Hashtable<String, Word>();
