I have a report with an if then statement for a checkbox.
If checkbox is true...etc versus if checkbox is false...etc
When there isn't a record that has this checkbox checked, I get the error
"You entered an expression that has no value." (Runtime error 2427) How can I ignore this error
when the record doesn't apply to the criteria?

I have a database that keeps track of street light inspections.
There is a form with inspection info and a subform with any faults found - Works Fine
There is a report with the same information - Works Fine'ish
The report allways used to work fine but for no apparent reason it previews fine but when printing I get the following message and the subreport information does not print (although if I open the sub report seperately it prints fine).
'This expression is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluated. For example, a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying the expression by assigning parts of the expression to variables.'
I am banging my head against the wall with this one. It used to print fine and I have made no changes, apart from data. Have tried compact/repair to no avail.
Could someone please point me in the right direction, my head is hurting...

I am making a payment data base and table structure is like this:
ProjectNo
OrderNo
OrderDate
InvoiceNo
InvoiceDate
InvoiceAmount
ChequeNo
ChequeDate
ChequeAmount
1st thing is to be done is data input till Invoice Amount and then on due dates payments are released thru cheques. Sometimes payments are not one to one, means there can be 3 part payments for one invoice. So when we take the balance payment due, we get errror. Report shows total invoice amount 3 times, because details have three fields. Means like this:
Overall Supplier Invoice Payment Status For The Supplier Name - True Fab Engineers Private
Limited
InvoiceNoDateAmountPaymentDateChequeNoChequeDateChequeAmou
Supplier NameTrue Fab Engineers Private Limited
ORDER NO. P-158/B/10848 DATED 12-Apr-07
5413-Apr-072,714.0012-Jun-0752363106-Jun-072,714.00
12-Jun-0700.00
5723-Apr-074,154.0022-Jun-0752363106-Jun-074,154.00
22-Jun-0700.00
TOTAL PAYMENT DUE:13,736.00TOTAL PAYMENT MADE:6,868.00
You can see that total amount due is just double of actual. Beacuase of this all accounting is going waste.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Using Access 97 :( to create a fairly simple database for a couple of users.
When setting up a report using the wizard, I am given an error message of "No Current record" when I try and Finish the wizard.
I have re-installed Access 97 - which I thought would have most definatly fixed the problem - but doesn't seem to have done the trick.
Any thought are welcome?
Thanks, Neil

Just a quick one.
I'm not usre how to handle the error when cancelling a report. so when I hit a control to bring up a report and say I cancel it before I put in any parameters for example I get the dialog box " runtime error" "OpenReport action was cancelled" etc.
Could anyone help me on how to handle this with VBA so that it's at least a more user friendly dialog box?
thanks

I want to create a report using the data currently held in a form. I found this bit of code somewhere:
DoCmd.OpenReport "report", acViewPreview, , "[job number] = " & txtFilter.Value
txtFilter is the name of textbox containing the data I want for the report. This works if in the table for txtFilter's data the field is set to a number. But if I set this field to text it comes up with a data type mismatch error. How do I solve this? (sorry new to access and vba). The reason I want to set it as a text field is so that I can limit the number of characters entered.
Thanks
Chris

Hey,
Newbie here,
my frist error message appears as soon as I create a new database. As soon as a I create the name and it opens the new database a message pops up that says "Error Loading DLL" does anyone know what this is? and will it create a problem for me?
Secondly, I have a database that will be used for employee Reviews so the fields I have are as follows: Key, Date, Time, Department, Employee, Topic, Explanation, and Supervisor. I want to be able to generate a report for each employee, however I am not sure how to use the wizard to create this. If anyone knows of some tutorials or report aids I'd love to get my hands on them!
thanks!

I'm using this date format in my report footer.
=Format(Date(),"Long Date") & " " & Format(Time(),"Medium Time").
It gives the current date and time on my computer, but causes an error on the other computers in the office.
Any ideas why?

Hello,
I can run a query but when I try to display this information on a report I get the following message:
The specified field “tblMachineData.TagName’ could refer to more than one table listed in the FROM clause of your SQL Statement.
Here is my SQL code from the quey.
SELECT tblMachineData.TagName, [tblMachineFloat Query].DateAndTime, tblMachineRunTag.TagName, tblMachineFloat.Val
FROM tblMachineRunTag INNER JOIN (tblMachineData INNER JOIN ([tblMachineFloat Query] INNER JOIN tblMachineFloat ON [tblMachineFloat Query].DateAndTime = tblMachineFloat.DateAndTime) ON tblMachineData.TagIndex = [tblMachineFloat Query].TagIndex) ON tblMachineRunTag.TagIndex = tblMachineFloat.TagIndex
WHERE (((tblMachineFloat.TagIndex)=0 Or (tblMachineFloat.TagIndex)=1 Or (tblMachineFloat.TagIndex)=3 Or (tblMachineFloat.TagIndex)=4))
ORDER BY [tblMachineFloat Query].DateAndTime DESC;
Any help is appreciated,

I'm creating a database to store our Audit results. My issue is... I have all these different audit elements and each persons scores get entered into a form. I'm trying to get the average of everyones scores for each element. When I create a query and build the expressions to 'average' the score of these elements, it will only let me average 3 of them and then I get an overflow error. It acts the same way in the report as well.
I ultimately want to create a report that lists the elements followed by the percentage (average of the full company audit broke down by element). This way we can see our problem areas and where we need more training.
Only thing stopping me is OVERFLOW.

I am using ACCESS 2010, win 7 Home Premium 64bit
difficult to handle error when executing my report. I put a code into OnOpen section but ACCESS states:
Quote:
The expression OnOpen you entered as the event property produced the following error: A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control.
Additionally it says in description:
This error occurs when an event has failed to run because the location of the logic for the event cannot be evaluated. For example, if the OnOpen property of a form is set to =[Field], this error occurs because a macro or event name is expected to run when the event occurs.
I am genuinely confused by that. I have also provided the code in the case if I am missing something I don't know yet. In a debug window, I have executed the code line by line and it worked. Whenever I try to open the report, the error occurs. Should I be aware of something when I write code for reports?
Below, the code in my report "module":
Code:
Private Sub Report_Open(Cancel As Integer)
Call CreateTempTable
End Sub
Private Sub CreateTempTable()
On Error GoTo ErrorHandler
Dim strTable As String
[code]....

I have 2 table:
- tblInvoice include Inv#, Type (Debit/Credit), InvoiceDate, ...
- tblCharge: ChargeCode, UP, Qty...
I have created a qry of these 2 table. It works properly. I added a Number spelling function to convert Total amt to word.
The error has happned when I change anything in tblInvoice. Every time I run the report, the report reports error 13 Type Mismatch. When I run debug, it point to Sodoc = Round(Sodoc, 0).
It's strange. This Number spelling function only spells the number in the report why is it impacted (by the change of tblInvoice record)?
P/S: The following is the Number spelling function mentioned above.
=======
Option Compare Database
Public Solay(0 To 15) As String
Public Donvilay(0 To 4) As String

I have recently changed computers from a WindowsNT to and XP. When using the NT machine, I am able to print my Access report. However, when I hook up the XP machine and request a report from one specific database, I get the following message....this message also comes up if I try to open print preview or page setup.
"There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The object may have been sent to a printer that is unavailable."
I don't think it is a printer error as the error is occurring in this one database. I have successfully printed a test page and can open up other Access databases and print. I also tried converting the database to the 2002 format....but that did not make a difference either. There must be a setting in the database that is causing the error.....
Does anyone have any suggestions???

I am developing a database for my company which will produce reports based on data entered on various forms.
When the report opens, I would like its name to dynamically change to include the site, the client and their reference number. Although I know very little VBA, from searching this and other forums I have managed to get this to work on other forms.
On a different form, I have managed this by giving the form the caption "Caption" and then running the following code on load:
Reports("ItemisedQuoteFromQuoteFromViewSalesEnquiryFromSearch").Caption = "Our Quotation Ref: " & [StaffInitials] & "/" & [QuoteEnteredBy] & "/" & [QuotesJobsSalesEnquiryRecordNumber] & " - " & [ClientDetailsName] & " reference " & [JobsClientJobNumber]
Which will give the report a title along the lines of: "Our Quotation Ref: AB/CD/123456 - Client Name reference 987654".
On the report I am struggling with the code is:
Reports("MWUPropertyAssessment").Caption = "Property Assessment for " & [SiteDetailsAddressLine1] & ", " & [ClientDetailsName] & " reference: " & [PropertyAssessmentClientJobNumber]
However all this produces is "Property Assessment for , reference". If I try entering just "[SiteDetailsAddressLine1]", "[ClientDetailsName]" or "[PropertyAssessmentClientJobNumber]" I receive an Invalid use of Null error message.
If I create text boxes on the report for [SiteDetailsAddressLine1], [ClientDetailsName] and [PropertyAssessmentClientJobNumber] they are filled with the correct information so I know that these fields are not blank.

I have a report that shows weekly schedules (each week start with Sunday date for the row) for multiple teams (columns). It prints 1 year at a time.I have to add the Sunday dates by hand into the table for each year. I have added 2016 but when I generate the report I get a "no current record" error.By the way, I am not a "programmer" but I can usually figure out whats going on when we have a problem by looking at other code in the system and by finding answers for similar problems on the forum!!

i have a table on my database from which i generate a monthly report by running a query. when i run the query (date from to date to) i have no problem. it shows me all the relevant records. when i want to generate a report, i input the start date and the closing date for the report. it then gives me an error (reserved error (-1524); there is no message for this error.) i have gone into the table and basically isolated all the corrupted entries. there are 359
what i need to know is how to repair these entries without losing the information. im new to access and this is a simple(kinda) database which i set up to keep track of what the staff in my department are doing on a daily basis.
im running access 2007.

I have a query that uses the input from a form as criteria, which is then used in a report. The form input is a drop down based on another table. This is a sales pipeline report, and the list is a list of sales people. The report works perfect for all sales people except one. When I run it for the one, I get the following error:
"This expression is is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluated. For example, a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying the expression by assigning parts of the expression to variables".
I DO NOT get the same error when running the query by itself - so assuming there is something in the report causing this. I do have some sum formulas in the report.
Again, no other salespersons selected cause this error -- so I am assuming there is something in the dataset for this person that is causing the error.

The database is to track and evaluate call center associate phone calls. I created yes/no fields for multiple common errors (accurate/complete, Security, and client experience. and under each are @ 20 common errors)
(the problem is that I did not create a seperate table for each main category which I think might have made things easier)
Now what I am trying to do is create a report that allows me to show (or select) an error and have it show all the associates that had that error in a given time frame.
I already have a report to show all associates and all the errors that each had in a certain time frame. (so vertically I have associate detail and horizontal I have error detail).
is there a way, without creating 25 separate reports, to show all associates under an error type?
