2007 Autofill In Datasheets?
Nov 1, 2007Access 2007 apparently no longer has the autofill feature with datasheets. This was an option that I used frequently and not having slows down greatly my particular tasks.
Is there some way of activating it?

Feb 20, 2012I am new to Access 2007 and I am having trouble in creating a form. It is simply a data storage table which would be fed in by users. That it.
I need to create a user friendly form so that :
When the user selects : Career_Goal field as "None", the next field called: Years, should be automatically be populated as 0.
In any other case, they should be able to select the years from the dropdown list.
How do I create this if else conditions? Do I use expression builder, if yes then how?
Cascades And Datasheets, Oh Joy!!!

I have a table full of dates and each date has multiple time slots, and each time slot has multiple data values.
What I would like to do is have 2 cascading combo boxes (for date and time), so when you click the date it returns only the information for that date in the datasheet, and then click on the time combo box (which displays only time slots for that date) and returns the specific time slots for that date.
Any help with this would be most grateful!!
Calculating Totals From Filtered Datasheets
Sep 3, 2015I have data sheets as subforms on a Main nav page that show the students and the classes they are enrolled in. I have combo boxes to filter this for individual classes /students. On the Classes By Student DS I have the cost of each class. I want to total these classes per student and start building an accounts system that will show how much they owe and how much they have paid. I just need to start with the totals though.
On the Student by Classes DS I want to generate registers as reports. The only hard this in this is I would like to have a box for each class date on the form. I have put the term dates in a small table and I want a box for each class day from that.
Modules & VBA :: Combo Box Disappearing Value - Used To Filter Datasheets
Jun 24, 2015My goal is to use a combo box on a nav pane to filter the following 5 nav panes with data sheet views on them. The combo shows 'component' and should filter each datasheet to only show records with the same 'component' selected in its respective component column.
What I'm currently dealing with is said component combo disappearing upon nav change, and I can't get it to filter the datasheet..but that is likely due to the fact that I cant get it to hold value on page switch.
Forms :: Text Size In Forms / Datasheets
Aug 16, 2014I need to make the text size smaller to fit everything on the screen (users use 17" monitors..). I have gone into each form and subform and changed the text size for each text box to 9, but when I view them in form view the size has not changed ?
Also .. is there any way to make the autocentre option actually work as it's name suggests !! ? it does in most cases centre horizontally, but never vertically, quite often putting the top of the pop up form over the ribbon bar.
I would actually like to be able to totally remove the ribbon bar so that only the database forms are the only thing the user sees.
I vaguely remember being able to do this in Access 97 (Which was the last version I used - a long time ago !) but this seems to be more difficult in 2010 version.
Access 2007 Crashes On Excel 2007 Import
Mar 21, 2008On trying to import an Excel 2007 file into Access 2007 I get the following:
1) Choose "External Data," Import, Exce
2) Select small file in MS Excel 2007 format.
3) Click on Import the source data into a new table ...
4) Choose OK
Immediately get "Microsoft Office Access has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." This message never resolves, so I have to click 'Cancel'.
Then I get "Microsoft Office Access is trying to recover your information..." I have to click "Cancel" here as well and then kill MS Access in Task Manager.
Event Viewer gives following message, which is of no help:
"ID: 2, Application Name: Microsoft Office Access, Application Version: 12.0.6211.1000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6215.1000. This session lasted 710 seconds with 120 seconds of active time. This session ended with a crash."
Trying to import a small Excel 2003 file leads the same result. The same happens with a CSV file.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 as well. I am using Vista Ultimate.
I have turned off DEP.
How can I get MS Access 2007 to import Excel?

Mar 29, 2005I have a form based on a table with several fields. The table contains names of employees and their departments, etc.
When I fill in the form with the employees name, how can I have it autofill the dept?
I am not a programmer so if specific code is required, I would need to know exactly what it is.

1. After my relationship table is built, is it possible to have some tables automatics fill in according to what another field in the table is inputed? EX: I have a Ordertable(orderID,itemID,Itemdesc), and a Inventory table(ItemID,Itemdesc), When you select an Itemid to put in the order form, the order Description from Inventory would appear in the Itemdesc of the order form.
Is this possible? If so how?
2. In tables, is it possible to make a cell = to something? So like if I wanted to add a subtotal and a final total after tax, I could use = * .08 or something?

I have a table with about 1000 records, I have a column called "brand", half of the records contain some data but the other half dont and I really the ones that dont to contain the text "none".
Any Ideas?

Apr 16, 2008I am trying to self teach myself and I am sure I am going about his wrong.
I have a form with a fillable text box called ProcessCode, a drop down box called CostContainerSize, and a fillable text box called disposal cost. Their are dozens of possible process codes and container sizes of 55,30,15,5,P,Y etc... I want the disposal cost box to auto fill based on Process code and disposal cost. I wrote the following in the control source IIf([ProcessCode]="LF" and [CostContainerSize]="55","$65.00") THis works to auto fill, but obviously only for that particular set of parameters. I have tried adding "or " comments to include other sizes for that particular process code with limited success. I have tried IIf([ProcessCode]="LF" and [CostContainerSize]="55"or"30","$65.00"or"$50.00") among other variations.
Any help is appreciated.

Apr 3, 2007Ok, basically I have enough Microsoft Access knowledge to be dangerous.
I'm in the military and built a database that keeps track of the members who misuse their government travel card.
What I'm trying to do is enter a SSN into my form and have it fill in their name, rank, unit, etc if they are already in the data base.
I'm pretty sure it is possible, but not sure how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated!
Access 2007 Runtime Not Visible In Access 2007
Nov 26, 2007I installed Office Enterprise 2007. Then I installed DEveloper Exrtensions, then Access Runtime 2007. All appear to have installed OK - they appear in Program and Features.
Instructions on runtime packaging tell me that a Developer option should appear in the resulting drop-down when I click the Office button (top-left round thing) when I have a d/b open in Access. It's not there! I have un-installed and re-installed the extensions and the runtime - still nothing!
Help!
I do have Runtime 2002 (XP) on the same PC, is that relevant?
Help!! Autofill Troubles
Dec 1, 2005I created a form from a table (maintbl) with a combo box. The combo box retreives information from another table (model#tbl)and autofills it in the fields below. the information that is autofilled does not automatically get entered into maintbl. Theres probably a good reason for this but i cant figure it out. Anyone?? Im not very good with code but if thats what it takes thats what it takes.

Im currently developping a small application in Access 2003 and here is my problem:
I am trying to autofill the value of the field OrderID in this form : "FRM/SupplierID/CurrentYear/OrderNumber"
Where the SupplierID is charged once the SupplierName is selected from a combobox and the OrderNumber entered from another textbox.
Note: SupplierName values are from other table: Suppliers

Autofill Query?

I have a table which includes several columns. Two of these columns are important for this update query I wish to do. In my table, I have two columns like this:

I am wondering if there is a way to run an update query which would automatically fill in the blank fields in column 2. The numbers in column 1 will always correspond to the same person in column 2.

Need some help with a table, or possible more to do with a form design..
I'm looking to autofill in a field depending on data that's in the previous field.
E.G. I have too fields.. One for employee and one for department.. I want the department field to automatically select the department whenever the employee is selected from the drop down list.
It's probably a simple query or something I need to do..

combobox named "status" (contains 3 values)
textbox named "date"
What i want to do in the form is to automatically set the status to a value when date is filled.

I am setting up a database for events for local companies, I have an events table (event title, date, time etc) and a company table (name, address, postcode, tel, etc) They have a one to many relationship, with the events table being 1 and the company table being many.
I have a main form with the event details and I want to add a subform for companys, but would like this form to autofill the companies address and contact details when I enter the company name. Is there a way you can do this? :)

Autofill On Checkbox
Jun 18, 2006I've searched the forums and Google. I've possibly come close to finding a solution, but can't quite get it right.
I have a checkbox that I want, when it's checked, to put the current date in a Date Completed field.
I know I have to edit the OnClick event, but the code has puzzled me.

I need some help with getting my form(form 2) to autofill from another form(form 1).
Now i dont want to use combo boxes or command buttons as i only want to use the keyboard and not the mouse.
Basically when a customer phones up to get prices they tell me there account code( this is in the customer details table) and i enter it into a text box on form 1 and after pressing enter it opens up form 2(this bit i can do) but i cant get it to open the form and display the correct details from the table on the form.
p.s why is it access books tell you everything except what you want to know.
