I have an Access 2000/2003 database which opens up and displays correctly in Access 2007, but when I go to use the File>Print command, or for that matter any of the other pull down menu's nothing happens?
Has anyone else experienced thisproblem, or does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Background Info: I developed our main department's Access 2003 split database which is on a server for 15+ Users. I've now been given Access 2007 for development -- Users still have 2003. There are also 2 other smaller databases that are not split (.mdb).
Problem: In the split database, I've saved the Application .mdb as 2003, relinked and made a new .mde. But the Users still cannot open the database. (I did this in a copy until I figure out the nuances with 2007.) The 2 other unsplit databases can be saved as 2003 version and Users can open OK.
I'm grateful for any suggestions on working with Access 2007. I've been trying to tackle the ribbon which is a whole other question.
I have built a rather extensive database using Access 2000. When I install it on an Access 2003-enabled machine, the first time it is opened, the user is presented with the following errorbox:
"An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?"
At this point, clicking "Yes" results in an update the installation of Access 2003. Then the database must be opened manually again. Then, the following is displayed:
"Module not found."
Closing the database at this point and then opening it again results in a normally functioning database.
I have several questions:
1) What is the feature that is no longer functioning properly?
2) What is updated when the installation exec runs?
3) What module is not found? I assume this is one of the VBA modules that I've created, but I've check all 62 of them and they all seem to be there available.
4) My first guess was a reference problem, but I've checked the references used and all are available, as far as I can tell. These are the ones that I have referenced: VBE6.DLL, MSACC9.OLB, DAO360.DLL, STDOLE2.TLB, MSCAL.OCX, MSADO25.TLB, MSO9.DLL.
5) After getting the first error - the one about nonfunctioning feature, I clicked "no" to the repair now question. This does nothing except the database remains open. At this point, I opened the code and tried to compile, but I get the "module not found error". I likewise tried to set a breakpoint in one of the first modules and I get the same result.
6) I even tried to copy the forms, queries, tables, and reports into a blank database with no references and no other extraneous code and received the same result.
This site has been extremely helpful in the past and I am really relying on you guys again for the same stupendous help now.

I have installed Microsoft Access 2003 and Microsoft Access 2003 Developer Extensions. I can create Access application by using the Package Wizard.
But after I upgrade from Microsoft Access 2003 to Microsoft Access 2007.
I can't use the Package Wizard.
How can I do to solve this?

Attached is a screenshot of the relationships in a database I built a couple of years ago. It's worked absolutely fine in Access 2003 and currently has over 18,000 customers with associated information in it.
However, when I open the database in Access 2007 the performance is awful. All the forms are very slow to respond when tabbing between form elements. I've experimented by reducing the number of form elements calling on related data on a given page and whilst this improves performance it reduces usability - something I don't want to compromise on especially since Access 2007 should be able to cope with this.
My next question is therefore whether I've got the most efficient underlying table design and I can't see any other way of doing it than my current method so I'd be grateful for any feedback or advice anyone has.
I have a customer that did not read my recommended hardware specs and bought a Vista machine with Office 2007 preloaded on it.
My application uses a Access 2003 database and it is working fine in the Vista environment. The database utilizes Access security and has a database password.
My problem is that I can't see any data that has been entered! I have ran queries and opened the tables, but it is as if there is no data in the tables. However, my application can still read the data...this is a very weird problem! This is a tech support nightmare!
Has anyone had a similar problem?

Our Access database is multiple user. The front end is on the local drive and the data file is on our main server. Our database has numerous queries, forms and reports accessed by command buttons or directly. Various queries are set to merge with Word documents.
What are major or annoying problems that have been encountered by converting. Our database is contains our membership information and is crucial to our operation. Detailing problems/solutions if possible would be extremely helpful. Asking for allot but very concerned about conversion.

I have two database applications and they are:
- the (A) application is for administration use.
- the (B) application is for normal users use.
the idea is that: I made the (A) application for administrators who have full control over the database objects (tables, forms, queries, and so on ...).
the (B) application I have created for normal users who will have only to use forms to insert some data and display data only.
but the two applications has a respective table called "vacation request" table. where I linked them, so the both administrators and users can share the data.
The real question is that: How can I prevent the users from seeing the database objects in their application. I used the database options which have helped me in hidding the database objectives when the users open the application, but unfortunately they managed to access to the database objects by pressing the special keys.
I would like to have an access to the (B) application when I want to make some modifications to the forms and then lock it from users where they only have to use the forms for requesting vacations and view the vacations.
i am trying to use access 2000 database onto to access 2003. When i try to click design mode to change something it gives me this message:
You dont have permissions to modify.
If i run it on access 2000 it runs fine.

A few years ago I’ve made an access database on access 2000. The problem is that now I’ve installed the office 2003, and I can’t make the database work properly.
At first says that are missing those files: “tshoot.ocx”, “msioff9.ocx” and “msowc.dll”; so, I’ve copy them from another computer using office 2000 and now only complains about “msioff9.ocx” saying that my database contains a reference incomplete to it.
Is there no other way to convert my database do work properly with access 2003? What can I do?

I have a problem with making a (simple!) search form work in Access 2000. I wrote the code in (what i believe to be) Access 2000 version, and it runs on my machine that is Access 2002-3. The search form uses VBA code; an if-then logic for 3 fields that are chosen by the user, and discounts fields that are not selected. The code then filters results from a query based on 2 tables and presents these in another form.
This all works fine on my pc, and on others using Access 2002-3, with macro security set at medium (and macros approved to run). However, the search form does not work on pc's running Access 2000. I do not know the security levels for these pc's but please if anyone knows of what may be causing this... please help!!

I am trying the beta version of Access 2007 and realize that when converting Access 97 to Access 2007, the new db in Access 2007 has an extension of .accdb. I rename the db file name to xxxxx.mdb and the VB app fails to recognize it.
Is there any way to convert the xxxx.accdb (Access 2007 beta) to xxxx.mdb so that I can try my app against the Access 2007 db?????

I am trying to copy/replicate an Access 2007 database. My objective is to have a new copy of the database, without any records in it.
Can't find anything in the Access help about this -- what I find in my old Access 97 does not apply.

I am kinda new to 2007 and have at the moment a simple database.
I want three things
A: Use the database on a server.
B: Restrict the use to users etc as i used to be a ble to do in Access 97 i think (do i have to make a MDW if so how ?) 9I tried ACCDE but does not seem to do anything)
C: When users use the datavase not see all the normal access editing stuf..

I have built a database with Access 2007, and intend on sharing the database amongst two users.
I am running Vista, and the two PC's or on a peer to peer network. Both with Vista.
I have split the database, and put separate copies of the front end on each of the PC's.
The backend of the database is on the public drive on my PC.
Access opens and functions correctly on both PC's with 1 User logged in.
However, if both users are logged in, my collegues PC crashes when it tries to open forms. This does not happen on my PC.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to change. Thanks in advance.
I have written my very first database in Access 2003 but it tells me that it has been saved in Access 2000 Format.
My questions are:
1. Why has it done this?
2. Can I change it 2002 or 2003 format?

I'm adding to a database that someone else set up. I went to the Design View page and clicked on one of the buttons at the bottom to add a text box etc etc. It all looks fine, but the field doesn't seem to be active - if I add some text into it for one page of the databse, the same text appears on every page of the databse. I notice that my "new field" is not listed in the fields list. How do I add it? I keep looking through "The Missing Manual" but without spending 3 days reading the whole thing (which I don't have time for) and learning much much more than I need to know just to get to the part that I need to know, it isn't helping me much.

I'm attempting to set up a relational database utilizing a composite key of several data fields. I had no problem doing this with FileMaker Pro yet with Access 2003 I'm having problems. For example, in Design View I select the field names needed for the composite key.
Yet when I click save I get a message "Microsoft Access can't save property changes for linked tables." As a result I'm not able to construct a composite key of the several data fields selected.
Just upgraded to Acccess 2007 and have ownership problem extracting queries from a 2002 db.
When trying to import into a new 2007 or export from the 2002, get "you have no permission" message
Have created a new user tried to change owner of the db, but no permission
File security looks correct in that I am owner of the file with full permissions, but Access doesn't recognize me as the owner
Tried logging in as admin, but it isn't the owner either
This is not critical, just very time consuming, this is a test project, but it would be nice not to have to rewrite about 30-40 queries and equivalent forms

Anyway, I have created a database, and have been testing it with my application. I have some data in this database. I was wondering if there was a way in Microsoft Access 2007 to create an empty copy of the database for release. In other words, I would like to create a copy of the database with all of the tables and columns, but without the data (rows) that I had entered as part of using my testing database...
Does anyone know if I can do this?
If anyone knows where this Access 2007 forum is, or resources that might answer my question, please let me know, as I would greatly appreciate that.

I'm using Access 2007 which I built a database that runs queries off of tables using ODBC. The database is all done in ms access, I've used no visual basic programing on it. I'm now trying to move a copy of the database to another computer's local drive in the office. When we try to open it on the other computer it gives me an error that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program" and Access hangs, which I then have to run task manager to end the program.
Specs Are: Windows 7 64bit (the db was created on Windows 7 32bit)

I have created a database in Access 2010 and I am not able to open the same database in Access 2007. I have read somewhere that it is possible to open. I get the message, " Unrecognized database format". In Access options, the default file format is, "Access 2007".
