General :: Dynamically Adding Option Controls To A Frame On A Form
Aug 20, 2012In Excel, I can dynamically add option controls to a frame on a form using the Control.Add method. Is there an Access Equivalent? I can only find Count & Item as Control. items.
It might have something to do with design view i guess.

Dec 9, 2005I have a form that has several rows of controls (comboboxes, textboxes, checkboxes, etc)
Each row is exactly the same. There is one row for every 'driver' in the 'SalesDrivers' Table.
Instead of manually adding a row when we add a new driver I would like to form to dynamically create the form based on the drivers in the table.
Any suggestions?
Forms :: Dynamically Resizing Forms And Controls
Oct 31, 2013I am making a database that will be used by multiple people on a network, and they have different resoloutions on their own computers. when the database is loaded on their respective computers, the form controls are all off.
On the computer i designed them on, the forms fit perfectly on screen, as do the controls, i would like to know if there is some vba code i could incorporate into the form open event, or module code that i can use in order to dynamically re-seize the forms and all of the controls to suit different resoloutions?

I have proj name m1.mdb which has forms and reports.I have 2 forms form1 ,form2.In form2 I have button that creates new database named m2_date.mdb and creates report and form1 by using property DoCmd.TransferDatabase acExport, "Microsoft Access", sFilename, acForm, "form1", "form1", StructureOnly, StoreLogin,now this form1 has to be seen first when any user doubleclicks m2_user.mdb,so my question is, is there any way i can setup startup form properties dynamically ,without using startup form manually from tool properties of toolbar.

Dynamically Change Form Data

I've tried to find this on my own, but without luck. I have a Microsoft Access form that I've build. The data is pulled from tables I built. There is a "User" dropdown, an "Email" field and a "Phone Ext." field. I'd like to set it up so that when the "User" dropdown triggers an On Change event, the "Email" field and the "Phone Ext." field automatically update with the appropriate data (all from the same table). Can anyone help me with this?

Reports And Changing Labels On Form Dynamically
Nov 24, 2004I have created a report to display a bill of materials (boms). The report works as I have designed. I have also figured out how to filter the report using the docmd.openreport vbasic call with filters. This works fine. I use a form to select the filtering I need in the form of 2 Listboxes populated from tables. The form opens, the report generates and displays in preview mode. What I cannot do is the change the title text (Text Label on the report Header). I would like to use the selected items in the listboxes as sources of text for these controls on the report so I can use the report over and over for different boms. ANy help would be greatly appreciated! Vbasic I hope!

I'm trying to find some code to allow a datasheet form to link to a csv file.I'd like the link to the data to be dynamic so it connects when the form loads as the access database will be run from a network share by multiple people at the same time.
The CSV file will be different for each user and reside on their local PCs in their profile folders.
I've been trying variations of this snippet of code I found which is called On Form Load:

Forms :: Dynamically Setting Recordsource For A Form
Mar 25, 2014I currently have a Job Management System where the Customer Order Form displays all jobs via a main form and an order details subform. This form is used for inputting new jobs and for viewing existing jobs via links from other reports such as a job schedule or customer orders report. It is always reached via a clicking of a "New Customer Order" Button where the form is filtered to new record or via double clicking on an order number in another screen and filtered via the order number.
I am now in a position where the database is growing too large and I want to archive the data in the Orders / OrderDetails Tables into Financial Years and put them in a separate backend database. However the jobs will still need to be viewed via the customer order form in order for them to be duplicated the following year.
I have created a union query of the PreviousFY and Current Orders to allow the "search jobs by customer" query to work. This works fine, but I now need to make the record source of the Customer Order form dynamic.
I have created a CurrentFY query to feed the form if it is a current job and a PrevFY query if it's from the previous FY.
I have written code to check the OrderDate against the financial year to work out which database the job is from and set recordsource according to that result. This is currently in the OnCurrent event as I also have other code there that checks details of the order to determine if fields should be editable.
However I am finding that when I parse the order data between the forms the "new record" command or the order number is not being retained or checked. If this because I don't have a recordsource set when it opens?
I tried setting the recordsource as the currentFY on open and then do the check but that didn't work.

General :: Dynamically Search Multiple Fields From Combo Box On Form

It works without the "setFocus" for the Listbox except it jumps to a record after the very first character is entered instead of narrowing down as characters are typed. If I leave in the "setFocus" I get run-time error 2110.

Apr 16, 2014I have a single form which becomes either readonly or editable or addnew using a circular toggle switch. The toggle switch is activated by a command button and the caption of the command button is used as the display of the mode.
The SetAddModeBt is a separate command button that initiates the add mode. The problem is that various form or field properties when defined on the fly are not stored and they get lost when you open the form again. Look at the code below:

General :: How To Make Form Controls Change Size / Position As Form Is Resized
Jul 24, 2013how to make my form controls change size / position as my form is resized / loaded on a computer with a different resolution. Several of the tutorials out there suggest putting code on the "on resize" property of the form. When I looked at the Northwind database to try to mimic their code however, it looks like they must be doing something different as there is no on resize code under the form properties and I was unable to find the code they do use.

Recently I designed a form with several controls including both TextBox and Combox. Before I submit data by clicking the button, I use VBA to validate the values of those controls (textbox and combox). If the value is not valid, the system will eject a msgbox and automatically set the focus on that component. In order to tidy the code, I use a GoTo statement, which refers to a group of code to display the message due to the value of parameters
But it seems VBA doesn't recongize the control I set through the parameter.
The code as the following:

Form With Two Tab Controls
Aug 29, 2006I am new to Access and have not used VBA.
I have searched the forum on this, but I can't find an example of this problem.
I have a data entry form with a two-page tab control. One is for company info and the other for contact info. The recordsource is a query based on the two tables. Initially I had the page set up as a rather large form with a subform and decided to convert to the cleaner looking tab control (I used copy and paste to transfer the controls).
This form worked initially, but now I have changed some setting so that it doesn't work anymore: I can enter data properly on the first tab, but not on the second.
I have tried changing the various form properties but I must be missing something obvious. All my tab-less forms work the way I expect them to.
What I don't understand is why one tab works and not the other.

May 10, 2006I created lots of controls on my form, and now i cannot create anymore. I do not know what the problem is... I just get an error message that says:
"MS Office Access cannot create any more controls in your form/report. If you have deleted controls from this form/report in the past, try renaming the form/report and then add more controls to it"
I tried renaming the form already. it didnt work :confused:
I tried to create a new database (i copied all the tables, queries and forms into the new database). it didnt work.
I dont know what else to do... Please help

Form's Controls 'invisible'
Nov 8, 2006I have few forms that look fine when in Design view, but which appear as plain grey screens when opened in Form view. These were working perfectly (i.e. visible in both views) until about half an hour ago.
The only things I have changed are some of the calculations behind certain fields.
Any thoughts?
Troubles With Form Controls
Sep 1, 2005I have a number of list boxes that dont show up in the VBEditor under the form name.
To be more specific, these controls do not show up in the drop-down list on top of the code window. If I try to assign an event procedure through 'code builder' to these controls, they refer back to a pre-existing module instead of the form under "Access Class Objects".
I have tried repairing and compacting the database to no avail. Can someone guide me? Please ask for more info if you would like some.

Autocenter Controls On Form

I have a rather simplistic problem that I can't find a solution to! I have a
form that I want to maximize every time it opens (which I have achieved
through DoCmd.Maximize in the Form_Load event), but I also want that all the
controls in the form, staying positioned relative to each other, center
themselves horizontally on the form once it is resized. Maybe I can set a
property that always makes them stay in the horizontal center, which is also
great. How could I accomplish this?

Ms Access Form With Tab Controls?
Feb 6, 2015I m trying to create a form with tab controls but it keeps on disappearing in the form view but showing up in design view. Even when I delete the tab control and drag existing fields onto a blank form it is still not showing up in form view but showing in design view.
