Adding Minutes To Time Based On Selection

Apr 28, 2005

My table, TblTYPE, will contain two field.
TYPE
DURATION

There will only be 7 records in this table:
FUS, 30 minutes
POS, 30 minutes
PRE, 30 minutes
NOV, 90 minutes
FUL, 90 minutes
ANN, 90 minutes
NPB, 60 minutes

1st question: How do I enter only minutes in the table for field 2?

------

I want the following to happen.
The end-user enters the start time and the type. As soon as the type is entered, field three calculates an end-time based on the start time and the type. When the type is entered, the minutes listed in field two of the type table are added to the start time (giving you an end time).

Can anyone help me?
1.) How to properly format the minutes in the original table.
2.) How to add the minutes to the original time in a query.

Thanks!
Scott

Adding And Subtracting Short Time Values Together/changing Short Time Into Minutes

Dec 9, 2004

Hello again,

I think my subject heading explains it. How would you add or subtract two short time formatted values and produce a short time value? Also, how would you change a short time value into number minutes. (i.e. 5:30 into 330) Thanks!

Forms :: Automate Combobox Selection Based On Current Time

May 26, 2015

I have a form with continuous sub form.

The main form contains a combobox, populated from a query which pulls in specific data (time) from a table

The subform is linked to the combo box on the main form. Based on the combobox selection, the subform updates with associated records with the combobox selection

I would like to add additional functionality in the form load event, that would read the current time and identify the nearest value in my combobox.

I have tested the code below behind a button and it works

If Time() > "13.00:00" And Time() < "14:30:00" Then
MsgBox "The Time is " & Time()
cboPricingCADeadline.Value = "14:30:00"
Else
cboPricingCADeadline.Value = "NA"
End If

Would a loop through the recordset of the Combobox be best used here? Set the first and second values of the recordset to variables, query the time and then return the value if statement is true, or move to the next record in the rs replacing the first and second variable values

eg
If value1 > time() and value 1 < value2 then
cboPricingCADeadline.Value = value1
end if

If this is a good lead, how do I go about setting up my recordset?

2 Minutes Of Your Time Please

Mar 1, 2007

Hello all,

This forum has been a lifesaver in the past and I hope someone can help me now.

I have a Contacts form that is used to input all the client's information. (name, date of birth, address etc).

I want to be able to force the person entering the data to not be allowed to tab to the 2nd text box (or any other text box on the page) unless in the first text box data has been entered (the first text box is client name)

However, I also need to be able to overide this if the person entering the data clicks on a "Cancel" button (another button on the page which closes the form).

Is this possible and if it is any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Rob

Adding Minutes And Seconds In Access

Jan 5, 2005

I am writing an Access program to compile Cell phone billing information for my company that has around 60 phones. I am entering the detail information and reporting on it. The problem I am having is with the minutes and seconds calculations. For instance employee A might have accumulated 630:59 minutes for the current month and employee B might have 250:12 minutes (Mins Secs) for the current month and so on. I want to be able to enter these amounts in a feild and then be able to sum them. Can you tell me how to format the field that the detail minutes will be entered into. I have been looking on the net for hours for a solution.
Also I want the sumation to be formated in minutes not hours. Example

630:59
540:12

Would = 1171:11 If this is possible, what would be the field data type and format.

Thanks

Total Time On Hours And Minutes

Jan 29, 2007

Hi,
I am trying to show the time difference between 2 times but the calculation is not working correctly.

First I work out the totaltime on mins between 2 dates using datediff, then I am trying to convert to hours and minutes like :
Total_Time: Format([Sumoftotaltime_mins]/60,"00") & ":" & Format([SumofTotaltime_mins] Mod 60,"00")

This is working until I have something like :

03:00
15:45
25:20

this should work out as 44 hours and 5 mins but for some reason it is showing as 43 hours and 5 mins.

why would this be ?

Time Exceeding 23 Hours 59 Minutes

Nov 2, 2004

Hi,
I have a bit of a problem. I am making a program in access 2002. In my program you should punch in hours:minutes, this is for keeping track of how long a job has taken to perform. The problem is that it could exceed 23:59, it could take up to a week or even more. In my database we have already put in a lot of info where it doesn't exceed the 23:59, I would like to keep this posts and just to put in new ones that I could use further on when I am about to take out reports, where I have to calculate time. Is there someone who knows what to do ??

Reports :: Average Of Time In Minutes And Seconds

Feb 7, 2014

Basically, I get daily reports from the client and the AHT and ACW values come in seconds. I've recently added code to the query changing the data to nn:ss which works perfectly. Below is some info:

tblTelephony
[AgentName]
[Calls] (number of calls answered)
[AHT] (in seconds)
[ACW] (in seconds)

[Code] ....

The above code works very well, where I'm stuck is in the attempt to average the fields [AHTMinSec] & [ACWMinSec] by Agent in a report.

Using [AHTMinSec] as an example:

I have the daily values for each agent [AHTMinSec] in the detail, Avg([AHTMinSec]) in the Agent group footer showing each agent's average, Avg([AHTMinSec]) in the Team group footer showing team averages and Avg([AHTMinSec]) in the report footer showing the campaign average including all teams. When I run the report the details are hidden providing each agent's average, the team average, and the campaign average.

The report worked just fine until I converted to minutes with the above code. Is there a reason that I'm getting an error stating that the calculation is too complex? I've done enough research to determine that the db can't Sum in order to average...

Converting Minutes From A Query To Hours:Minutes On A Report

Jun 12, 2013

Basically I have a table setup where Time Fields are stored. What I need to do is in a Query, have the difference of two Time Fields calculated, and then displayed on a Report. Here's what I have so far...

Table

- Start Time
- End Time

Query

Difference Time: DateDiff("n",[Start Time],[End Time])

All that works fine and shows up on the report, except for the fact that the time is showed in straight minutes, so for a difference of 1:30 minutes, it just shows 90 minutes. I need to make it so that on the report in the Difference Time Text Box, it's showed as 1:30 instead of 90.

I tried putting the following in the Control Source for the Difference Time Text Box on the report, but it returns an error.

=[Difference Time] 60 & Format([Difference Time] Mod 60, ":00")

Adding All Selection To A Combo Box On Search Form

Jun 5, 2014

I have a search form with unbound combo boxes that uses the combo box values as criteria for a query. The Row Source of cboCategory is based on the query:

SELECT Categories.ID, Categories.Category FROM Categories ORDER BY Categories.Category;

When I start the form and I don't select a value for the cboCategory combo box, the query just returns all the values. This is great. The problem is that if I make a selection in the combo box, I have no way of reverting it back to that initial value that would make the query return all categories - if I erase the combo box the query returns nothing. So I have to close the form and reopen it.

I tried adding an "All" value to the combobox like so:

SELECT Categories.ID, Categories.Category FROM Categories UNION Select Null as AllChoice , "(All)" as Bogus From Categories
ORDER BY Categories.Category;

but it does not seem to work. It just returns nothing instead of all the categories. How can I add a value of "All" to the combo box that will return all of the categories?

Modules & VBA :: Time Field Selection

Jun 11, 2013

I have a table with several fields including the following 3 fields:

dtmAppoint Date = stores appointment date
dtmAppointTime = stores appointment time
lngAppointDoctorID = stores doctor's id for specific appointment

When I enter a new appointment, I want to know whether a specific combination of these 3 fields already exists. The doctor is actually a dentist and maybe another appointment has already been placed for the same dentist on a different chair. Creating a recordset as indicated below works but I am having some problems with comparing Time (dtmAppointTime). The following works but I need to extract Hour, Minute and Second and put it into string variable strTimeDum.

Code:

rstSearch.Open "SELECT * FROM tblAppointment " _
& " WHERE (clng(dtmAppointDate) = " & CLng(rst!dtmAppointDate) & " )" _
& " AND (dtmAppointTime = #" & strTimeDum & "#)" _
& " AND (lngAppointDoctorID = " & lngAppointDoctorID & ");", CurrentProject.connection, adOpenKeyset, adLockPessimistic

Any way to retrieve the records that correspond to the specific time or a simpler way to access the records of interest?

Forms :: Adding All Selection To Combo Box That Acts As Filter For SQL Statement

Nov 4, 2014

My form has a combo box which is bound to a query that selects a list of member numbers. The value selected the goes onto filter a list driven by an SQL statement.

Code:
Private Function PopulateADO(qpMemberNo As Long)
Dim cnn As ADODB.Connection
Dim rst As ADODB.Recordset
Set cnn = CurrentProject.Connection
Set rst = New ADODB.Recordset

[Code] .....

This works fine when a single member is selected from the combo. But obviously i want a "select all" or * wildcard option.

Question is 2 parts.
1. How do i add the all or wildcard option to the bound combo?
2. How do i code the all or wildcard option into the SQL statement?
Is it something like is not null ?

New Form Based On Selection

Feb 3, 2006

Is there a way to take a form, select the fields that you want to display on a template(I created the template)? Then the fields that aren't selected grey/disable them? In other words. We perform several tests, ie. test 2006.01 and 2006.02 etc. Each test is based on 1 table. So instead of having to go in each time a new test is needed, can I create a form that has selectable fields(checkboxes), and once I say ok it opens the "new" template it will have the fields that need to be on that test then grey out the ones that aren't going to be used this time around? Sort of new to this....

Autofill Based On Selection - Please Help

Sep 28, 2004

I am learning Access fairly quick, but still a newbie and stuck on an autofill problem. I have read everything I could find and it seems there may be code involved, which I'm not sure about.

The problem seems simple enough: I want to populate field "Rate" in the table "Services" based on the selection from a dropdown menu referencing ClientID in the Clients table. Specifically, my form uses a drop down menu to select ClientID for the Client table to associate with fields in the Project table and I have imbedded another form at the bottom which contains fields from the Services table including the Rate field I want autofilled based on the ClientID selection. Here are the tables and fields I'm working with...

...table...
Client
...fields...
ClientID (PK)
Rate
<and more>

...table...
Project
...fields...
ProjectID (PK)
ClientID
<and more>

...table...
Services
...fields...
ServicesID (PK)
ProjectID
Rate
<and more>

Please be easy on me if this is a simple problem. Thanks!!!

Forms :: Selection On Price / Stock And Delivery Time In One Query

Dec 13, 2013

I have a table with following structure :

Fabcode Price Stock Date Supplier

Fabcode : the unique code of the article
Price : the price by this supplier
Stock : quantities for the moment in stock by this supplier
Date : When there is no stock at this supplier, the estimated time of arrival
Supplier : name of the supplier

A selection for looking the lowest price for a supplier who has stock is no problem. But I want also the fastest delivery date when no one has stock.

Example

Fabcode Price Stock Date Supplier
Product1 5 3 A
Product1 6 4 B
Product1 7 5 C
Product1 8 6 D
Product2 14 73 A
Product2 12 56 B
Product2 15 14 C
Product3 30 0 30/12/13 A
Product3 24 0 B
Product3 25 0 26/12/13 C
Product3 32 0 26/12/13 D

Result :
Product1 5 3 A (because supplier A has stock and the lowest price)
Product2 12 56 B (because supplier B has stock and the lowest price)
Product3 25 0 26/12/13 C (because no one has stock, but supplier C has the shortest delivery time AND the lowest price)

Remark 1 : when there is no delivery date (and no stock), this supplier should be ignored for that product
Remark 2 : when no one has stock, the delivery date is priority, when 2 supplies has the same delivery date than the price is priority.

Can this in one query or SQL-statement ?

Making A Selection Based On A Month

Jan 15, 2006

Hi

I have a subform on which I log the times spent on any particular project.

I have another subform on which I want to select a month and use this to select all the instances on which work was done on any given project for a particular month. I would prefer to use a pop up calender to select the month (i.e. by slecting the last day of the month in question)

Has anyone got any idea how I might do this - I am completely stumped.

Thanks in advance
