Altering Chart Properties?

I have a line chart built in Access. Is there anyway I can change the line colors like I can in Excel? The default fuschia, bright yellow, and bright blue are horrendous.

Table Column Name Properties/Combo Box Head Properties

Hi, I would like to change the properties of either the column heads in a combo-box or the column names for tables. I don't think there's any way to adjust the column head properties, and I'm doubtful there's a way to change the column caption properties.

Some of my column titles are long, and I'd like to be able to word wrap them essentially. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks.

Altering A Table

Hello, I use a database at work that I made. Unfortunatly, I did not add a field for numbering the items that a customer orders. When entering an order It is important to my customers to keep it in a certain order. how do I change it so it adds a numbering to all the past orders as well? I've been trying to think of a way for months and cannot do this on my own. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out. If you have any questions I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Altering Field Values

I'm trying to produce a database that will convert Ebay download files to a format more suitable for import into Sage Line 50. I have a table "Customers" that has all the customer information in it.

One of the fields is "Country", this lists the full name of the country the customer lives in. However, Sage requires countries to be listed as a two letter abbreviated identifier, GB, US etc.. I have another table "CountryCodes", with two fields, the countries full name and its abbreviated identifier. I need to be able to compare every "Country" field in the "Customers" table with with the "Country" field in the in the "CountryCode" table and change it's value accordingly. I also need the "Country" field to change to fixed value (ZZ) if the country is not found in the "CountryCodes" table.

Any help would be greatfully recieved.

Altering Data Display

I tried to revive an old post in the "General" section with this question, but it doesn't look like many people are looking at it. I figured it wouldn't upset the posting gods too much if I posted it here, since the the question is concerning queries.

I'm starting out with an excel sheet that looks like this:

Is there a way for access to make it look like this?

Can Form UseMicrosoft Excel Chart Instead Of Microsoft Chart Wizard

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a chart in a form, this is not a problem, however, the chart types available are a bit limited compared to if i inserted a Microsoft Excel Chart object.

I'd do that except I'm trying to create a chart based on a query.

Is there a way to make the chart wizard use the Microsoft Excel Chart object as its chart creator so I have access to the chart types available in that object?

any assistance much appreciated.

Altering SQL Query When Launching Report

Ok, so I have a form that I am using to apply certain parameters to a report. The form allows the user to specify one or more fields to sort by and then launches a Report with those statements in the Report's where clause using DoCmd.OpenReport. However, when certain fields are searched, I need to add information to the SELECT and FROM parts of my Report's query. I can't figure out how to do this with Access, if it is even possible. Otherwise, I will need to find a way around this.

Altering Text Display Using Iif Function

Let me start by saying I am very, very new to Access, but have been assigned a report to create.

I have the following textbox in my report:
=[Location]+(Chr(13) & Chr(10)) & [callnumber]+(Chr(13) & Chr(10)) & [Online Availability]+(Chr(13) & Chr(10)) & [PF Subject]

I'm using this format so that my 4 fields appear in a list and don't leave blank lines if the one of the fields happens to be empty.

The problem is that I need to alter or substitute some text.

First, in the location field, I can have several different entries, but if the entry is 'Circ', I don't want that text to display and I don't want a blank line either.

Secondly, in the online availability field, if there is any value in the field, I want whatever text that is to change to something like 'Online - Yes'. If there is no value in the field, nothing should display.

I think the use of the Iif function should work, but I can't seem to write it correctly. Help!!

Altering User Data Input From Lower To Upper Case?

I have a database containing a mixture of upper and lower case input. I can make upper case appear on the screen by using > in the format box in the property section for each field. This works great but the same old uncorrected stuff remains on the database. How can I get the database to store the corrected upper case data after I have entered it in lower case?

General :: Parking Slot Warehouse Database - Altering Available Options In Combo Box

I am new to MS Access. So I am making a database for an automobile warehouse. When a new car arrives at the warehouse, it is allocated a specific parking slot (using a combo box available on the 'New Arriving Car' form).

However, once a specific slot has been allotted, the end-user should not be able to allot the same parking slot to other arriving cars, until the original car has left the warehouse so that the parking slot becomes available once again. Currently, the parking slot combo box shows all parking slots whereas it is supposed to display only unoccupied parking slots. How can I enforce this? (Note that there is a separate form called 'Exiting Car', which is filled when a car is leaving the warehouse).

Fyi, each car is referred to by a unique 17 digit code - so this is the primary key. Also, there are 120 parking slots available in all, with the slot identifiers ranging from A1, A2...A12 to J1, J2..J12 (10 x 12 = 120).

I have created a sub form and wanted to make it's background transparent and also be able to enter new data and change it on the form. I sat Data entry = Yes, but I still can't enter any data. And I can't find the Back Style property at all.

Subform Properties

Am sure this is an easy question but I'm missing something:

How in the heck are you supposed to get to the subform properties box. The only way I know is to click on the very thin border area surrounding the form and then try and right click your way to properties. There has to be an easier way. Usually I have to fight my way to the properties box as the area loses focus by the time I right click and I have to reselect and try and right click again...ARGH!

but in other screen i m able to access the properties.

Date Properties

How could I implement a feature which determines if something is at least 7 days before a booking at a theatre, but no more than 2 months. For example, something like... If =Now() - 7 Then... Elseif =Now() Then...
I don't really know how to go about it.
Hirer Date is when the booking is to be held (e.g., 12/01/2006) and Booking ID is when it was booked over the phone. (121205/M = 12/12/05 in the Morning) If someone could help me I'd appreciate it greatly. :D

Accessing The Database Properties..

Ok, Let's say I go into File->Database Properties from the "main" Access screen. This brings up a window with the title "<database name> Properties" where <database name> is the same as currentproject.name.

This window has several tabs including "Summary" and "Custom." It looks like this should be stuff that I can set and then reference from within my code.

My thought is that I can use the "Title" from the "Summary" screen as a variable for all of my msgbox titles. The other interesting one is "Project" on the "Custom" tab. It looks like this may be the same sort of thing.

I've found that the Access Help is absolutely useless - I'm about ready to take a shotgun to "Clippy." But as they say, a display is a terrible thing to waste <grin>. I've also found that it's getting harder and harder to find what I'm looking for in the MSDN library. There's so much stuff and they don't always file it in logical places.

I have seen different types of files properties some has additional features while some has none - its just click once on any file and then click the right hand side mouse button and select the properties that will display all the information about the files click on second tab version (if there) will tell you the additional info about the file.

Modifying An Icon's Properties

I have an Access database split into FE/BE. For the front end, each user has his own directory on the lan. The directory is named with the UserName.

I've created an installation program in Access. It basically installs the icon on the user's desktop using Environ("UserName"). It also installs an Excel file the program needs on the hard drive.

Here's the problem...Right now, the installation program grabs the shortcut off the lan and installs it, but that shortcut has one user's UserName hard coded as the target. That one piece of information needs to change for each person. Is there a way for the program to modify the target based on the username of the person running the installation program? Without this piece, I need to visit every user after he runs the installation program and modify the properties of the new icon to point to his specific directory.

How To Disable The Properties Window

I was hoping someone knows how to disable the ability for users to gain access to the properties window.

When viewing a form (or any object), one can usually right click, click on the corner of the form, or a few other actions and gain access to the properties option. If selected, the properties window is displayed with all the object's properties.

Is there a way to NOT allow the users to select this option? i.e. to disable this option from the menu list?

I have a list of files which contain the full path of the file (dir & filename), how can I get the extended properties for these files?

I try to use the script

Can't Resize The Properties Window

I have been running 2003 on XP SP2 for some time but a couple of days ago I needed to do a 'detect and repair' on Word but without resoring defaults. When I opened Access, the Properties Window was back to its default (small) size and couldn't be resized. An uninstall/reinstall made no difference.

Has anybody got any idea what might have happened and what I can do to put it right? I usually have it the height of the screen and this is driving me nuts!
