I have a Category form with a products sub form so that upon selecting a category it displays the products for that category in the sub form. What i want to do is have a pop up box so that when a person clicks on the product name in the sub form it pops up saying you need to open the products form to enter new products.
I have seen this before on this forum but can't find it know that i need it. (typical  )
I have several fields with text boxes and input masks. When a user clicks in these fields, it puts them in whatever position in the text box they click in. If they click to the far right, it takes them to the right position and doesn't let them type the entire date, formula, etc.
Any way to set the text box so that no matter where they click it automatically starts in the first position?
I have 3 peices of data that I am working with: Group number, plans and benefit elections. On my form I have fields for the group number and plan and 2 queries. When I enter a group number the first query displays a list of plan descriptions for that group. From there I can enter the plan description into the form's plan field and that runs the second query to give me a list of valid elections for that plan. This all works fine but I want to make the plan selection a little less tedious. What I would like is to be able to double click the query field housing the plan description and have it copied to the form's plan field. I could use the ID instead of the plan description but I work in a production environment and very key stroke counts so I would really like to have a simple double click process.
Is this even possible? If so how would I set that up? I tried using the double click on event macro builder but it does not seem to have this kind of option.
My form contains fields for group number and Plan. The same form houses 2 querys, one that pulls plans based on the group number and the other to pull elections based on the plan field (not the plan query). Would like to double click a plan within the plan query and have that description populated into the form's plan field.
Does anyone know how to automatically enter the current date into a specified field by simply clicking on a check box. I imagine the IIf function would work when entered into 'Control Source' but I also need the check box to be linked to the underlying table. i.e. I tick the 'Paid' checkbox and the current date is automatically entered into the 'Date Sold' field. I also need the -1 generated by clicking on the checkbox to be stored in the table.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, although I am no good with code, so if you could post an example or an easier way to do it I would be most grateful
I am putting the finishing touches on a DB and have come up with a a problem which I cannot solve. I have code on my data entry form that concatenated the days and times of up to five days. That is : [Day1] & " " & "@" & " " & Format([Time1],"h:nn AM/PM") & " " & ";" and so forth for five days. It has a complicated (for me) nested IIF statement and it works fine on the form. But I have now transferred the data from an old DOS DB and I do not want to go through almost 5K records just to update three fields. When I tried to do it in an update query, it said that the string was too long for the update. My update is:
how to update the table if a field is blank without clicking through all 5K records? I have tried simple concatenation, but I usually get a lot of extra @ in the field.
I am trying to populate a textbox from a field in a table based on clicking on a item in a listbox. User clicks a name from the Client table in the client field, and the date that is stored in the orderDate in the same row. I want the text11 textbox to show that date.
I'm creating a database to track new policies request. I have a form in datasheet view that displays a list for all Initial Review and Draft status. I would like to click (... or maybe double click) on the Policy Name field that will display all fields into single form that is link to PolicyID ... to update any info needed. In other words i want to click on that record to be display in actual form.
Private Sub PolicyName_Click() Dim stDoc As String Dim stWhere As String Dim strsql As String Dim DB As DAO.Database
I've just returned to work after kids and started managing a large Access database related to health, back-tracking over many years.
Currently in filling a form we physically enter: Apples 2.2 red apple 2.4 red apple cut 2.45 Oranges 5.6 Cucumbers 8.5
Is it possible to get field 2 to automatically fill with a number code due to the text typed in field 1?
FWIW, I'm confident at more basic Access e.g making follow on default value = Dlast("field""table") type stuff but the more complex stuff I haven't touched since Uni over a decade ago and you will need to be gentle while I blow away the cobwebs
Within my table if Field 1 has an answer of Self (from drop down), then, I would like Fields 6-12 to auto populate; however, if Field 1 does not have an answer of Self, then leave Fields 6-12 blank.
I am not quite sure how to lay this out. I am using Access 2010.
I'm creating a database that keeps a track of questions and scores.
The questions in the database need to be dynamic and are changed frequently.
I have a scorecard table which keeps a record of scores and the applicable question at the time the record was saved. I need to do this because in 6 months time we may want to provide feedback. As the question may have changed we need to be able to refer back to what the question was.
I want the question field in my scorecard table to populate with the value in my question table.
I have tried a number of things including setting the question field in the scorecard table to a lookup based on the following query:
SELECT tblQ1.Q1 FROM tblQ1;
This works however only as a list or combo box. I don't want the user to have to select the question. I want it to auto populate, is this possible?
I (will have) a form which a user fills in to enter new data.
I have two fields,
"Branch" and "Branch ID" (Branch ID will not be on the form, just in the table)
Branch will be fed by a combo box with seven choices. I would like it so that when "Branch" is populated it autopopulates Branch ID with a code which relates to the branch, so for example
I am creating a database tracking physicians and their contracts. I currently have two tables: PhysicianT and ContractsT, with corresponding forms to enter information in them. I have an issue with the Contracts form; I want to be able to select a physician from a dropdown list (looked up from PhysicianT) and have Access autofill their Physician ID #.
PhysiciansT looks like this:
physicianID (AutoNum) name (Calculated) 1 Barker, Bob 2 Burgundy, Ron 3 Stark, Tony
Upon selecting Barker, Bob from my dropdown list, I want "1" to appear in the Physician ID # field in my Contracts form.
This is my first post. Thank you for reading it. And thank you in advance for your assistance.
I have an invoice table and a payments table. One invoice can have many payments (a deposit, final payment etc). The relationship is created.
I have a form with tabs that hold subforms. One of the tabs contains fields from the Invoice Table (i.e. Invoice Number, Invoice Amount, Total Paid). One other tab has a subform that contacts fields from the Payments table (i.e. Invoice Number, Check Number, Check Amount). I would like to auto-populate the Total Paid field in the Invoice Tab with the SUM of the Check Amount from the Payments tab BY Invoice Number.
This doesnt seem to difficult but I'm having trouble with it. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
I have a form with a main form and two subforms. The first subform automatically populates it's linked field with the data in the key field of the main form, but the second subform does not auto populate it's linked field with the data from the key field of the first subform. I have created main forms and subforms before and this was not a problem. Is there a way to cause the second subform to automatically populate it's linked field with data from the key field of the first subform?
I have my database set with pop-up forms, but I need to allow users the ability to right click on forms and view options I have set in a custom menu bar. For some reason I can't get right-clicking to work on these types of forms. Does anyone have any idea how I can accomplish this or if there is some sort of code I could use to do this?
Hello everyone. Over the summer i made a database. i think i may have done some locking on it so that i couldnt change it (and only use it), but now i would like to correct some errors. First off, i cant get the database toolbar to show up, and i cant use right-clicking. How do i enable right clicking and get this database to work so i can edit it.
Is there a way to make a field auto-tab when its max length/input mask has been reached?
I have several fields with input masks (i.e. phone numbers, dates, zip code, etc.). It would be nice to have those fields automatically tab to the next field once their max length/input mask has been filled.
My company recently completed a fairly large website for a local travel-agency. The website runs on a MsSQL and .net platform, but (It is a big but(t) by the way) a pricing calculation database is a old MS Access 2000 application.
The users of this DB have MSA2000 installed on their computers, and the database is made with one application DB and connected tables.
My problem is that I have to make some small changes to this DB, but when I start it up, the toolbars is hidden and right-clicking is disabled. (F11 works).
I have a form which is called test and in there a have a button box. What I want to do is Disable that Button box (its not a tick box not sure if that makes any difference) after checking it...
I have a form that has several tabs and in one of the tabs, the subform is very long. When I click from tab to tab, the main form scrolls down and the list of tabs disappears. So, when I am done with entering the subform, I have to scroll up the page to see the tabs in order to click on the next tab. I am hoping if someone has an idea how to stop the main form from scroll down each time I click on a tab.
