Auto Generate PDF When User Click A Link Based On Available Tables Within Database

I would like a way to auto-generate a pdf when a user clicks a link based on available tables within my database.
Basically i have developed a pricelist database and our reps need a printable pdf version of that available items and there attributes.
I have done some research and it appears that visual studio and crystal reports may be what I am looking for. This is an access web database that is accessed housed in sharepoint.

I Have a table with 15000 entries. This table lists components we use. This table is used to generate queries/forms. I have been asked to add a hyperlink to this table to link to a drawing of the component. All the drawings are in PDF and in the same folder. I am looking for a way to automatically update the hyperlink fields all at once. The Hyperlink will be in the format of servershareddrawings12345.pdfwhere 12345 is the component name from the table.
But there are a few small problems with the component names.
1. If the component begins with a B- . The drawing name will be all the characters except when there is a second dash in the component. So if the component is B-12345-678 the drawing name will only be B-12345.
2. If The component begins with AB, The drawing will be the first 5 characters regardless of what follows, e.g. AB123.
3. Finally for all other components the full component name will be the drawing name.
Putting the naming to one side, how to go about auto generating the hyperlink. I have posted this in the table section, but maybe this should be in another section like queries or VBA.

Hi, all.
I have a "client/server" split Access 2003 database with an Interface file containing all the code/forms/queries and some system tables and also a Data Backend file, with all the data tables and table structure.
This is being deployed to multiple sites, each getting their own version of the backend, so sites will not be using the same backend between them all, rather multiple users in each site will all share that site's backend file.
Since users will deploy in different network locations, etc. they will have to re-link all tables. Is there a meaningful/user-friendly way of doing that without relying on user's knowledge of "Linked Table manager", etc.?

I am required to write a code that will allow me to generate a table at the click of a button. Is there such a thing?
The table name should be Table1, and it contains 7 columns.
First column: Auto number (PK)
Field1: Memo

I want to input a number value in [field1], then i want [field2] to generate an auto number BUT i want it to increase based on [field1] THEN combine them into [field3] creating a unique SKU for every item I have.
EXAMPLE1: I will type in [field1]: "001234". [field2]will enter "000001" because it is the first occurrence of "001234" in [field1]. [Field3] will then have a value of "001234-00001"
EXAMPLE2: I will type in [field1]: "002468". [field2]will enter "000001" because it is the first occurrence of "002468" in [field1]. [Field3] will then have a value of "002468-00001"
EXAMPLE3: I will type in [field1]: "001234". [field2]will enter "000002" because it is the second occurrence of "001234" in [field1]. [Field3] will then have a value of "001234-00002"

I am looking to have entries made to the table based on a date range. I have a database of events and most repeat daily, weekly, etc. When I enter them into Access, they go in as a single entry with a start and end date. But I need to have them as individual entries for each day so that rather than one entry of 5 days, I need to create 5 entries of one day each.

I have a form [IUDATA]
I have a add record button.
I have a date field [DATEIN]
I have a text field [DRPNO]
If the [DPRNO] field is empty, I would like the user to have the [DPRNO] field be automatically populated after the user enters a date.
I'd like the format of [DPRNO] to be "dpr YY-XXX"
Where:
YY is the year of the [DATEIN] field and
XXX is number of records in that year.
So for example, if it was the 4th record with a 2013 date the [DPRNO] would be dpr 13-004.

Hi
I have created 4 tables which have 3 field common in all these tables and carry the same data value. Is it possible to enter data in the first tables and it copies to other tables automatically. After all its the same 4 data fields in these tables.
Liver database
Table 1. Auto ID; Surname, First name, Patient ID;-----other not common fields.
Table 2. Auto ID; Surname, First name, Patients ID;----other not common fields.

I have a few questions about tables and forms joining, and auto-population of data.
If I join all 8 of my tables one to one to one to one to one, is that possible? That is my first question.
Secondly: If I have my RSN number that I'm using to track each record, is it possible that if I type in the number on a different form, and two of the fields are similar on every form that they will auto populate since the tables are joined?
And if they're filled out in one form, they should know that these were the fields we said were attached to this number it'll just appear? Is that a real thing?

Hi,
I've been working on a database to keep track of employee time off, It consists of the main table, a employee table, and a department table.
I had a form that our admin uses to enter the info for each employee.
They would select the name of the employee from a drop down, and then select the department that employee is in from another drop down. then they would select the days off and reason ect. Then when finished they would hit submit and this would be entered into the main table.
Well they just asked if it would be possible to make it so when they enter the employee's name, that the department would automatically be filled in for the employee.
Is this possible? I'm trying to think of how to do it, but not coming up with anything.

I am splitting a database and have created the Back end already. When I create the front end and link to the tables on the back end... The front end does not link to all the tables in the back end. The list that comes up when creating the linkings does not show all the tables in the back end. What would cause this?

I am testing the security of my DB X on Acccess 2007. I could create a new database Y and linked to the database X. Unfortunately i could change the records on the tables. I don't want other DB that make connections to my DB to change my tables!

Started a new thread: Rebuilt database and still working with auto number for multi user form. The code I have works for single user but not multi user. Also if someone opens the form and closes without adding anything to the form the number is used with blank record.
This is what I have thus far:

I have a table, at the table I'v got these fields:
ID | num1 | num2 | sum
I want that the user put numbers at 'num1' and 'num2' fields and then the 'sum' field will calculate automatically the operator (sum=num1+num2).
I've tried to put any combination at 'Default value' of the sum field (all the fields are numbers , also tried to change the sum field to text...nothing works).
I'm getting a message that 'num1' field is not recognize at the table
(I tried =[num1]+[num2], without the '=', num1.table+num2.table , ...nothing works)
I also tried to do it with SQL command but it dosn't work.
There is any way to do it, is it possible? Or other way to do it at least at Form or at Report ?

Hi Folks
This is driving me mad.
I cant see the tables , queries etc , forms, reports when I click the Database window icon on the toolbar.
I need to add some more fileds to my tables etc
I have form that shows via startup.

I simply want to link a table from one database to another but am getting an Error -1002 with the error description: "'|' is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long."
I have tried just creating a basic table with one field and linking it to another database and still getting the error. It happens when I compact and repair on close.

Is there an easy way to auto-populate a Junction table [in access 2010] given the following two tables with a many-to-many relationship for Tasks? The two tables are
Table 1) tblTasks (TaskID (PK), Description), and
Table 2) tblMeasures (MeasureID (PK), Description, Tasks)
If JCTN table is JCTN_Tasks_Measures (TaskID, MeasureID), is there a way to populate when tblTasks(TaskID) == tblMeasures (Tasks)?

I understand right off the bat if you're reaction is "don't duplicate data!!" -- mine would be too (don't fret, I know my normalization).
I've linked a table in my db to my Global Address Book in Outlook 2007 and, upon entering an employee number as a new record, would like to verify that the number entered is listed in the GAL and then pull in the associated name and location info.
The key is that I don't want this info to rely on the GAL going forward. For example, if an employee leaves or is no longer listed in the GAL, I don't want to lose the employee info (past data is needed for audit purposes). Note: I will be creating a report later to show if there are discrepancies between the GAL and my table, but that's another story...
So, what would be the best auto-fill options in Access 2007?

Does anyone know how to write a simple method of having a text box on a form default to the first day of the current month. i.e. 01/05/2005 and then a second one equalling the last day of the current month i.e. 31/05/2005?
I can make it simply default to today by having the obvious =now() or =date() in the default section but i am bit stumped.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a database studentreview. with the name of the student, the location of the student the course and the status of the course. What I am trying to do is when a condition is meet the name of the course "Anatomy" is meet and the status "Done" is meet I want to auto-generate a new record with the same student name with the same town and the course will be "anatomy 2" and status "not done". The name of the student and the location are linked tables with the studentreview table. This is what is did with a record set but clearly I am doing something wrong since nothing is happening

I have a table called Jobslog which contains records for my permanent jobs I have to do for customers in one week.Structure is like:

TeamID
DayName
JobDescription
Instructions
Each job is assigned to a team, but is following same schedule every week.Can I create like a module or query to autopopulate the table with next week jobs, but putting the date as well, not only day name.For example, each Monday job should have a date field which should be 8/12/2014, Tuesday jobs should have 9/12/2014 and so on until Sunday.Usualy they are more jobs for each day (not day and job).

I Want to automatic Generate the Numbers (Me.RID) when everytime loading the form.
EXAMPLE "14011701", "14011702", "14011703", "14011704"....
140117 mean "yymmdd" and the last 2 digit mean autorun Number.
But in the next day 140118 I want the last 2 digit auto Reset and start form 01 example "14011801", "14011802", "14011803", "14011804"....
Same also for day 140119, "14011901", "14011902", "14011903", "14011804"....
