Autofill From With Specific Condition Check

I want to Autofill one of the field in my form, by checking specific conditions in my database. Example of which is as below:
1. Date of Maintenance :
2. Loom No. :
3. Component Replaced :
4. Component Type :
5. Latest date for same component replacement :
I want to autofill the Sr. No. 5 in the form itself by checking database, and if Sr. No.2=Sr No.3=Sr. 4, then latest date should be autofill in Sr. No. 5
Say, A component was replaced in a Loom on 01/01/2013 & again after six month same component is replaced on 01/06/2013 so while filling up the form, In sr. no. 5 latest date 01/01/2013 of replacement of same component in same loom should be pulled from data base.

Heres what I need to do.
--> open a recordset
--> read through the records
--> check to see if two fields matches e.g (qty=qty_completed)
--> if all records in recordset meets the above condition then run update statement
I want to put this code inside Form_Close. The code that I'm using checks the two fields for the condition and runs the update statement if condition is met. Problem is this a continuous form and I want all records need to meet the condition before it execute update statement.
Using Access 2010 btw.

I'm relatively new to Access 2010.
I want Access to look in one table for a certain condition, and if it is true to autofill text in a different column but I've never done this before.
Specifically, I have a column in a table that is named "Letter Received" and another named "Letter Received Unsigned" which is in date format. I want Access to write "N/A" in the "Letter Received Unsigned" column if there is a date entered in the "Letter Received" column.

I want to hit a button and then it scans for a file on a server and return with a message box saying if it exists or not.
I want it so when I am on a Specific record it will search for certain requirements.
All the file names are pdf files with the same naming structure
SIT yy m(m) dd Last Name Unique Identifier
Example:
SIT 14 5 21 Smith ABCD1234567
SIT 14 10 21 Smith ABCD1234567
So I hit the button it sweeps the file path and looks for documents with this naming structure.
Last Name and Unique Identifier are fields within the db.
Last Name = txtLName
Unique Identifier = txtUniqIden
So far I have the following:

So Far it works and I used the actual name of the items an it finds them but I need to up each record.
I have no clue how to begin with the strDirName. How to get it to scan the file name in a specific format.

Actually what I am looking to do is have an Access application check some Web site for the presence of a number. This number could be the Serial number of the application and if this number exists to maybe show a message in the aplication or even terminate the application.
A quick and dirty way is for User Serial number 254, to put on a specific page of a Web site say arbitrary file 254.jpg (invisible on the Web site). The application would check for the existence of this file and if it is there, it could take some action. Everything would have to be done in stealth mode.
The following code can tell me if a specific URL exists, in this case [URL]

I have been trying to come up with a solution for a problem I am having for a while to no avail. We have a backend database that stores various tables full of data. We then have a custom Excel Ribbon that connects to the database and pulls in the different tables depending on the user selection form the ribbon. Everything is working well on that end. The problem I am running into though is that in the development phase of the ribbon and database we had multiple versions and so there are still some people who are using old versions of the ribbon and therefore not connecting properly to the database. Is there some type of code I can add into the database and ribbon where it checks for a specific version to ensure the user is using the most recent version?
Basically, before any type of query is run to connect to the database the ribbon would have some sort of label on it somewhere and the database would check for that label and if it is correct, the code proceeds and if not a message box appears that tells the user they are not using the most current version of the ribbon and exits the sub?

how to read a specific line in a CSV file (using VBA), to see if the phrase "There are no records available." is present.
If it is present, then I'm going to do a debug.print stating that there are no records to load - and then the script will move on to the next file. If the phrase isn't present, then I'm going to upload the file to Access, parse the information, and then upload it to a CRM. (I already have the latter portion of the code up and running....I just need to account for the first part, where I can determine if the file has data or not).
The structure of the file never changes. The first row is composed of eight column headers (Post Date, Card Number, Card Type, Auth Date, Batch Date, Reference Number, Reason, Amount) and (if) the phrase "There are no records available." is present, it will show up on the second row, in the first column (under Post Date).

Hi,
I have recently been doing a lot of work on this area. Im able to export to where i want to and run macros through the VBA code inside of Access to edit the spreadsheets. This is ok if your making a new excel workbook/worksheet.
But what im stuck on is exporting to a so called template in excel. I can export to it at the moment but creating a new worksheet, in which i have to then cut and paste the data into the correct worksheets through code and then delete the worksheet that i had been working from (which is annoying because you have to confirm the deletion of this worksheet, which is why i couldnt really do the process this way).
What i want to know is there a specific way of telling the data you are exporting from a table/query/querydef to go into a certain worksheet and into a certain cell. For example; a list of names, i want all the Surnames to go into a worksheet called "Claim_Breakdown" and start from cell "A15" downwards until they have all been exported into the worksheet.
Anyone have any ideas on how i could achieve this? Thanks.

I want to hyperlink from a query direct to the relevant record in a specific form. I have a hyperlink field in the form which shows up in the query. When clicked in the query, this hyperlinks to the form but I cannot make it select the correct record in the form.How do I get it to select the correct record?

I am trying to figure out how to make a button that sends an email to a specific email address, containing the information from 1 row.
we have rows where we put the the address, the quantity and the time interval we can collect the packages in. these information have to be send to a trucking company. I want access to send an email to the trucking company's email address, and not a whole report of all the rows, but be able to choose to send row 1,2,3 etc.

so i have an interesting question and im hoping that someone can help on this one. i need to pull date from a specific table, no problem, that's written and working fine, next i need to be able to join the data from another table by a primary key, again no problem. third, i need to be able to select the date (using WHERE) for a specific date range. (i.e. i enter the date range of 01/7/2007 to 15/7/2007) and the query comes back only showing the data from that specific time, not the data from before or after. this is where my problem lies, all the entered data is being shown after entering my date range. i am going to include my SQL statement, just so you can actually see what im really talking about.

Hello, I have just spent ages doing searches and reading everything I can on locking. But, I have yet to find an answer as to how I can lock a specific field in a specific record.
e.g. Staff enter customer details, then at the end of the day the admin (me) checks it over and presses a big old button that stops them from locking certain fields in the current record only - they must still have access to the unlocked fields of the current record, and it must not lock any other records.
I'm guessing there's some VB code in the form of fieldname.lock = true, but then it locks the field throughout the whole table!
Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

When I fill in the form with the employees name, how can I have it autofill the dept?

Two questions,
1. After my relationship table is built, is it possible to have some tables automatics fill in according to what another field in the table is inputed? EX: I have a Ordertable(orderID,itemID,Itemdesc), and a Inventory table(ItemID,Itemdesc), When you select an Itemid to put in the order form, the order Description from Inventory would appear in the Itemdesc of the order form.
Is this possible? If so how?
2. In tables, is it possible to make a cell = to something? So like if I wanted to add a subtotal and a final total after tax, I could use = * .08 or something?

I have a table with about 1000 records, I have a column called "brand", half of the records contain some data but the other half dont and I really the ones that dont to contain the text "none".

I am trying to self teach myself and I am sure I am going about his wrong.
I have a form with a fillable text box called ProcessCode, a drop down box called CostContainerSize, and a fillable text box called disposal cost. Their are dozens of possible process codes and container sizes of 55,30,15,5,P,Y etc... I want the disposal cost box to auto fill based on Process code and disposal cost. I wrote the following in the control source IIf([ProcessCode]="LF" and [CostContainerSize]="55","$65.00") THis works to auto fill, but obviously only for that particular set of parameters. I have tried adding "or " comments to include other sizes for that particular process code with limited success. I have tried IIf([ProcessCode]="LF" and [CostContainerSize]="55"or"30","$65.00"or"$50.00") among other variations.
Any help is appreciated.

Ok, basically I have enough Microsoft Access knowledge to be dangerous.
I'm in the military and built a database that keeps track of the members who misuse their government travel card.
What I'm trying to do is enter a SSN into my form and have it fill in their name, rank, unit, etc if they are already in the data base.
I'm pretty sure it is possible, but not sure how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated!

let me try explain what I am trying to do.
I have a form where personal information is entered into. It has an option group that allows 3 choices.
I have made a form that I will use to search (the above code is from that.) What I am trying to do is if a person enters "Temp" into txtSearch1 then for the SQL statement to search "tblPersonalInformation.[RoleSeeking]" for the value 1.
If a person enters "PERM then for the statement to use 2 as the value for txtSearch1 and so on.
Can anyone help out with my task at hand.

Please don't criticize the naming, I've renamed to make the logic simpler to understand.
I am trying to run a query based on the value of a textbox. Right now if the text box is empty it shows all the records. This is what works:
SELECT A.ID, B.Weight
FROM A
LEFT JOIN B
ON A.ID = B.ID
WHERE B.Weight Like
IIf([forms]![Form]![txtBox] & ""="","*",[forms]![Form]![txtBox])
The problem is when tbl B is blank (and only when its blank), I also want to see all records where weight is null.
Some examples of what I've tried (I have tried variations of):
B.Weight Like IIf([forms]![Form]![txtBox] & ""="","* Or Is Null",[forms]![Form]![txtBox])
B.Weight IIf([forms]![Form]![txtBox] & ""="","Is Null or Like *",[forms]![Form]![txtBox])
I am not worried about the False condition, the problem is that Null is not being returned from inside an IIF().
When I set the WHERE statement to: WHERE B.Weight Is Null, it works. But if I try IIf([forms]![Form]![txtBox] & ""="",Is Null,[forms]![Form]![txtBox]). It doesnt work (Whether I put it in quotes or not).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I created a form from a table (maintbl) with a combo box. The combo box retreives information from another table (model#tbl)and autofills it in the fields below. the information that is autofilled does not automatically get entered into maintbl. Theres probably a good reason for this but i cant figure it out. Anyone?? Im not very good with code but if thats what it takes thats what it takes.

Im currently developping a small application in Access 2003 and here is my problem:
I am trying to autofill the value of the field OrderID in this form : "FRM/SupplierID/CurrentYear/OrderNumber"
Where the SupplierID is charged once the SupplierName is selected from a combobox and the OrderNumber entered from another textbox.
Note: SupplierName values are from other table: Suppliers

I have a table which includes several columns. Two of these columns are important for this update query I wish to do. In my table, I have two columns like this:

I am wondering if there is a way to run an update query which would automatically fill in the blank fields in column 2. The numbers in column 1 will always correspond to the same person in column 2.

Need some help with a table, or possible more to do with a form design..
I'm looking to autofill in a field depending on data that's in the previous field.
E.G. I have too fields.. One for employee and one for department.. I want the department field to automatically select the department whenever the employee is selected from the drop down list.
It's probably a simple query or something I need to do..
