How do you automatically populate (a) field(s) with the current date and time when a new record is created?

To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.
This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only.
([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null)
How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif
I have a database with date and time each stored in a separate field. Now I want to query the database based on a start date/time and an end date/time. I started with the code below but it only returns events within the same time range on each day when what I really need is every event from a specified date and time through a specified date and time.
SELECT myTable.ID AS myTable_ID, myDate, myTime, FirstName, LastName
FROM Staff INNER JOIN myTable ON
Staff.ID = myTable.StaffID
WHERE myTable.myDate >= #3/2/2014#
AND myTable.myDate <= #3/3/2014#
AND myTable.myTime >= #8:00PM#
AND myTable.myTime <= #11:00PM#
ORDER BY myDate desc
In the above example what I want is every event from 3/2/2014 8:00PM until 3/3/2014 11:00PM. But what I get instead is every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/2/2014 and every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/3/2014.
Hi,
I was wondering if two can people can enter into the same database at the same time? What pitfalls do I need to look out for if it is possible?
Thanks
Eddie.
We use access to enter our service tickets in at work.What we have are three date fields.
Call Date
Start Date
End Date
We are 24/7 operation.Currently all 3 just autopopulate with the current date.What i would like to do is ADD a CHECKBOX next to each Date Field.And make it work like this.
1. let them autopopulate as they are currently
2. if you end the call AFTER MIDNIGHT (the next day). CHECKING the box would automatically populate yesterdays date in each of the fields that has the check box CHECKED
I have several forms will be filled out on a daily basis by 50 different people. Does Access have a way of allowing multiple users to fill out the forms at the same time and still track the data? Or is it like Excel and can only be viewed as "Read-Only" once opened by someone else?

But now since I have join the group too I am requiered to enter a password. So when this application run at 7:00pm it opens and just wait fro me to enter the password.
when I go to Schedule Task and go to the properties of the shceduled task there is a liine Run:_________ Here is the location of my application. Is here where i should also put my password?? Or what can I do so it can run without me entering the password everynight it runs. I would hate to stay here till 7:00pm just to do that hahahaha..!

I have a form where the user enters a date into a field (box 1). Next they select a time frame in days from a drop down (box 2). What I want is for Access to take the date entered from box 1 add the number of days selected from box 2 and place the new (later) date into box 3. From there I can run simple queries. It's for a small data base to track the recall of pacemaker patients.
I enter their appointmet (today) date 1st box and then select whether they should return in 30, 90, or 180 days for a follow up 2nd box. When I choose the interval I want a 3rd box to automatically show their next appointment due date.
I am obviously not an Access expert and I think this should be simple. But 3 cups of coffee and 2 handfuls of my own hair have taken me further from a solution. THANK YOU for looking!!
When I enter character in input box then show run-time error with this code.
Code:
Private Sub cmdDelete_Click()
Dim password As String
If Command49.Visible = False Then
password = CStr("0" & InputBox("Enter Password"))

hi
I've got a series of analytical data tables and queries setup.
one of the queries will do a length weighted average based on a user input FROM and TO distances, this query works fine and produces a report.
What I have is a table that contains a list of m FROM TO distances,
rather than picking them one at a time I'd like to set up a report that would get the FROM TO info from the Table, call the query and report each of the FROM TO distance averages on a line in the report.
What's the easiest method to use to set this up. any code snipets would help to get me started and any help greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Can anybody tell me how you automatically move to a new empty record when you open a Form? Till now, I always had the last record displayed.

I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.

And
Code:
Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
Neither of which work ....
I have a database that stores information for lab testing. Each time a tech does a "step" in the test process he logs it in the table, using an input form. There are different categories, for example preparation, testing, analysis, etc, and each of those steps take time. I have the form autopopulate the date and time with NOW() evertime the form is updated. What i want to do is calculate the time it takes to do each in days. I can easily get how many days it was from now since they logged the test, =NOW()-TestDateTime. What I want to do is get the number of days it took to do each step, ie the number of days between each event. Is there a way to do this?

I have a check box in a table that when I check it I want it to automatically enter the current date. I also don't want to change the dates that have already been entered manually and that date should only display the date on which the check box was checked. :confused:
It is a database that hold the details of IT equipment and when it is disposed.
I think I may have to use a form but I would like someone to confirm this if it is possible to do in the table could someone also help me implement it.

My question is: is there anyway when I select this query to run from the Combo Box on the form that I can input the date range on the fly? The date range will change periodically and I would like to somehow input the date range when running the query from the Combo Box.

Hi,
Wonder if someone can help please. I'm quite new to Access so please bear with me.
I have a data field in my database consisting of both a date and time.
I then have a form containing two fields where the user can type a 'To' and 'From' date to extract the records that they are interested in. The query behind this uses the 'Between[Enter The Date] And [Enter The Date]' coding.
The problem is that because the field contains a time it doesn't return any records when I run the query.
Can anyone offer a bit of guidance on how I could ignore the time part of the field perhaps by adapting the above.
Many thanks
Chris
I have a column/field named [DateTaken] which contains test dates and times in the same cell. I am needing to find those with a test time less than 2:30 pm or <14:30pm.
data looks like this:
8/22/13 4:23 PM
1/29/14 12:21 PM
1/28/14 3:27 PM
8/26/13 4:27 PM
[code]....
this is what I have come up with to extract the time component of data set so that I can then later, sort it by the time in a query.
JustTime: TimeValue([YourField])
JustTime: ("hh:mm",([DateTaken])) and or ("hh:mm",[DateTaken])
I get either invalid operator or invalid syntax errors trying both of these.
I have a date/time field on a form.
I have a calculation that adds number of days to Date() and enters the answer in the field. Example:Date()+30.
If the answer comes on a week end, can I get the date entered to be the next occuring week day?
Thanks
At work I can enter +15 in a date field and it automatically sets the date 15 days after todays date. Our companies computer is operating on a ERP system. I would like to do that in an Access database I'm designing for a friend. Any hints.
