Forms :: Way To Continue To Blank Form After Entering Information Into Previous Blank Form?
Mar 25, 2013When entering information into a blank form, I would like to be able to continue entering information to another additional blank form after my last entry. Is there a way to continue to a blank form after entering information into the previous blank form? I would just like to continue without having to close the entire form and then reopening another form.

Jul 18, 2013I have a couple different reference files that get updated each week. Sometimes there are missing data elements, so I'd like to structure a select query to show me those records that have blank elements but I'd like the similar records to be pulled in as well, so I can make a determination as to how to populate the blank records..
See attached example: I have a client ID reference table that gets populated with forecast owner names (individuals responsible for the customer) from a couple of different sources. Sometimes there are names attached and sometimes the field is blank.
How can I structure a query to show me just those Client ID's that have multiple entries with blank AND non-blank forecast owners? I'd also like to exclude single/multiple records where there are only blank records...
Query Criteria With Blank And Non-blank Text Records
Mar 13, 2007OK, I have been searching around on the fourm for over an hour now...I give up. If this is some where else, I am sorry.
I have a database of maintenance data. There are several columns that are usually filled in, some records have some columns blank. They are formated text because they hold letters and numbers (see pic).
I am using a form to query the table...no problem. The form has text boxes the user filter down the data
The problem comes are with the results of the query. Any record that has a blank column is not retuned. I am using "Like" so that the user can enter in partial codes. I know "like" won't return "null" records.... Help!
Things I have tried:
1)IIF(form field is blank, return table field, else use like command to filter) - returns nothing!
2)Like "*" & [Forms]![Fleetwide_data_Request]![MAL_CD] & "*" returns all records without blanks (i.e. missing data)
what else can I do?

Blank Fields In Forms
Oct 26, 2005I am setting up a form with a few tables in it.
I want each table to relate to the form.
When the Next button at the bottom of the page is clicked I want all the values of each table recorded even if there were no values put in the boxes.
For example if there is no value added to the field boxes in say half the tables I want the default value to be recorded as blank or zero so that each table has the same Autonumber associated with the other tables in the form.
What is the best way to do this?

Cannot Stop Blank Forms!!

I have created a form based on a query that prompts the user to enter a persons name. Once entered, the persons data appears on the form and some other related data appears in a subform. However, I have found a problem that occurs when a name is entered that doesnt exist on the database... the form opens completely blank!! even text and graphics disappear!
Is there a way of stopping this from happening??

Mar 10, 2015I have a listbox in my database to show the items filtered from comboboxes. But, I could see several blank spaces on the right most part whenever I scroll my database on the right side. how to delete those blank spaces? by the way, i have correct/exact column count already.

Works fine. But not the mgr says his users get confused when they are making changes in the subform which record they are changing so they want when they select a record from the combo box and the records appear in the subform; they want the combo box to go blank. I am not sure how to do this because if I reset the combo box to go blank; the subform records will go blank as well.

Jun 26, 2013In Access 2007 I'm trying to print out a blank form so users can fill in rough notes while on the phone with a client, etc. I currently have a print macro button on the form, but the entire page shows up blank (titles, everything) when I try to print a an empty form.
A possible solution I've thought of is to check if the form is blank and then open and print a separate report that's just a copy of the form and printing that, but it doesn't seem like a very elegant solution.

Aug 7, 2013I have created a form that searches through one of my tables, via a query, it then automatically creates a report from that query.
I want to add an option into the combo box's that is blank.
Currently if you wanted to choose by 'fault category' but accidently click on 'failure analysis', it will take the top value of the combo as the entry, you can't then blank 'failure analysis'.
Each combo box gets its information from an independent table.
The only think I figured out what adding the refresh button which just closes then reopens the form so all the fields go blank.

Apr 12, 2013I think I read somewhere that DCount will not count blank cells, but when I try to do it - it counts everything.
Here is my formula:
=DCount("[E-Mail]","Detail","Not IsNull([E-Mail])" & " AND [Primary] = [Products]![Product Code]")
Basically, I want to count the number of email addresses in the E-Mail column of my Detail table IF the Primary column (also in the Detail table) equals the product code on my form AND if there is something in the E-Mail column for that line. When I did the above formula - and I've done a bunch of different variations - it keeps counting all lines that match the product code.

Mar 11, 2013I have a form in access 2010 that prints a document rougly 500 pages in length. I want to know if there is a way to tell the form not to print a particular page if one of the fields on the page returns the word "suspended" and or the field is blank. The page has other data on it, as do they all, but if this particular field comes back null or "suspended" I would rather it just did not print that particular page in its entirety.

Nov 10, 2013I have a subform that stays in data sheet view for entry, the form this sits on is launched by a macro. This macro on the main form launches the form and adds in the linking numbers by a setvalue. The main form has the linked number on it and this number is then linked by master and child to the subform. The problem comes in when you start adding in data. The line of data is filled by using combo boxes and some text fields and ends with a time/date stamp Now(). The problem is, even if you dont fill the entire line if a user refreshes or closes the form it adds a blank entry with the linking number but all fields blank.

Apr 3, 2015Access 2010 leaves the last name that a user typed in after he has done and update. All of the other fields on the form are blanked except the dropdown box . This seems to confuse my users and they would prefer that the last name is blanked out after an update like all of the other fields. I told them that it is a reminder to them of the last person they updated.
The drop down box has a list of all the clients in the database and the user selects which one they want.

Feb 26, 2015On a continuous form, I would like the user will add a new record via button click instead of popping open a blank record at all times. With AllowAdditions set to False on Form load, and turning it back on button click I can get a new record added. I am having trouble determining where to turn it back off. After Insert - doesn't seem to delete the blank row until I move to the blank row, so this doesn't accomplish what I am looking for.
AfterUpdate (for each field on continuous form) - this did what I wanted, but I was only able to update one field on the form for the new record. The combo boxes then were viewable, but I could not make a selection.

Oct 26, 2013I have a form that I would like to have blank fields when it is opened. I put the following in the "On Open" Event field of the form properties:

However, it does not work. I have an unbound combo box on the form for users to select from, in which all the records on the form will populate with whatever is selected in the unbound combo box. I thought this was the problem at first, but even if I remove that from the form, the form still opens to the first record. If I set the "Data Entry" field to "Yes" on the Data tab, that works, but then none of the fields populate when using the combo box.

Apr 25, 2014Normally I don't have any troubles sending an e-mail; however, this time I want to include a text field (cc copy) that is sometimes blank. The e-mail will not send if the field is blank. So, I tried using an If Then statement but that doesn't work within the SendObject command.

Feb 20, 2014I have a continuous pop up form which, at the most, will contain about 10 records. The ten records take up less than half the screen space - but there is a bottom half to the form - even though there is nothing there. How can I get rid of the unused space on my form?

When i looked at the list, the value is still there?I tried inserting a new Combo Box - the same?Will it clear if i create a new blank Database and import everything?

Sep 7, 2013I have a [Order Central table] that compiles products from four different categories that employees can order from.
Employees using the database will select from four categories on buttons which opens up the order form EX: [Category 1 form].
They enter their order info on [Category 1 form] into a subform sourced from [Category 1 Table] called [Category 1 subform].
Is there a way that they could select the "Category 1" button, which would run a macro opening [Category 1 form] with the [Category 1 subform] having a where condition of 1=0 (or just so that the subform appears blank)?

Dec 4, 2014I have a form with a query assigned to it . it has also some controls to filter the data when i filter the data and there are any relevantr data for the results the form shows nothing for the query and it's true but the controls will be disappeared and i have to go out from the form and come in again to be able to filter the query again.
