Build Multiple Drop-down Menus

I've tried to build a second Drop menu, copying the code from the first. When i run it im getting an error 91 (i didnt understand much of what google said on it) the code is as follows:

I tried changing it to btnInput1, but that hasnt helped :( the menu gets built, but the button does not.

Drop Down Menus

I can't figure out how to create drop menus in design view in a table. I put the option in the toolbar but its gray so I can't use the option. I have followed the wizard and its not working so I am doing something wrong!!

Dependent Drop-down Menus Not Working

Hi all,

This is my first time posting at Access World Forums and I hope you can help me out.

I think this is a fairly simple problem but due to my lack of experience (this is actually my first time using Access) I am unable to figure out what is wrong.

I have a entry form for a series of problems that needs to be documented on the plant floor.

The issue is in the 'Manual_Entry_Rewinder_Detail' form where I have two drop-downs -one for the category of which the problem lies and another drop-down for the actual problem itself. I have made (or tried to at least) make the problem drop-down dependent to the category drop-down. The purpose is to list only the relevant problems after the category is selected.
I have made a category ID of which I labelled for each problem. This of course corresponds correctly to the actual (an existing) category ID. Please take a look at the two tables: "Problem" and "Category" for details.

I followed this tutorial http://www.blueclaw-db.com/download/dependent_combo_box.htm .
I even downloaded and inspected their sample database with no idea on what is wrong with my own.

Please help!

I have a number of drop down menus to select Building Name, Building Number and then Equipment Name and Equipment Number. I want the list to be linked so that when you select the building name the building number is picked up. Also I want the Equipment List's with to change so that once the building has been selected only the equipment available in that building is available to be selected. Is there a way I can do this?

I have made a database. I have gotten to the point where I use a form to get the information. I am trying to get the information to auto populate fields after using 3 drop menus. They are department name, shop and shift. All of the information comes out of tbl department name, tbl shop and tbl shift.

I also have a table with department name, shop, shift, line, employee total, shift leader total, ratio of shift leaders per line and total employees off. I am trying to figure out once use the 3 drop down how can I Auto populate the remaining fields. Also I am trying to figure out where and how to put in the code.

Forms :: Multiple Checkboxes In A Form To Build A String?

From a dropdown field in the form it's currently possible to choose a geographical region for which to generate a report. The data populating this dropdown is pulled in from a Value List as follows:

" ";"*";1;2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9;10;11;12;13;EU;WD

I now need the ability to choose various different regions simultaneously which is not possible with the current method. I've looked into a nested continuous form and a multi-select combo box or list box, but none of these are as user friendly as my preferred method.

What I would like is 15 checkboxes plus a 16th to select/unselect all. When any of these checkboxes is checked, I need to create something like a dynamic value string or temporary table to hold the list of chosen regions until the generate button is clicked at which point the data is used to generate the report and cleared. I also need a piece of code to check/uncheck all the boxes.

My quiz consist of 15 questions. Each questions carry some weightage. Suppose a question carries a weightage of 5 and there are two correct options like A & C. If user selects option A then he gets half marks.Multiple users can access the test at the same time.

I have created a database that has both English and French forms feeding information into the same table. I'm not concerned if the info stored in the table is stored in French or in English. It all works fine other then the drop down boxes in the forms, here I only seem to be able to either have the English or the French options visible on both the English and the French form. Is there a way to have the English options on the English form and the French options on the French form, both feeding the results into the same field in the table.

I'm in Access 2013 and I built a form with multiple drop downs. Here is what I have in the same order of which the user must choose from......

Document "Field Observation", "Monthly Inspection", "Safety Roster" (The user must first choose the document from this drop down he is recording)

Supervisor "First & Last Name" (The user then chooses the first & last name of the specific Supervisor name he is recording the document for from this drop down)

Manager - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.
AOR - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.
Org Unit - This field automatically populates based on Supervisor.

Month "January", "February", etc. (The user then chooses the Month of which the document will need to be applied to)

I would like the form to trigger an error with "This document is already recorded for this month" when the user chooses "Monthly Inspection" OR "Safety Roster" for a specific "Supervisor" for a specific "Month" that is already recorded in "TBL_DataTracker". The TBL_DataTracker is where all of my records are stored.

Forms :: Change ComboBox Drop Down Menu From Displaying Checkboxes For Multiple Values

I have an issue with a couple of my combo boxes. When in form mode the drop down menu displays a list of options (taken from my source table), this is fine, but the problem is that it allows the user to select more than one of the options in the form of checkboxes. This is not what I intended.

I've attached to pictures to demonstrate the problem. The first is ComboBoxQuery (the one with the problem) and the second is ComboBoxQueryWorkign (the one without a problem).

I'm not sure why this is happening and I've tried comparing all the properties of both these combo boxes and changing some of them to see if I can eliminate the problem without any joy.

I use a very standard SELECT statement to pull the data for the combo box:

SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM tblCountryInfo ORDER By CountryName

I have a drop box that has four selections from a table (NORTH, EAST,SOUTH or WEST) I also have a another table that has two fields which is a NAME of a person and either NORTH, EAST,SOUTH,WEST depending on the persons name. What I need to happen (within a form) is that when I select NORTH from a drop down box, I can then select names in another drop down box that correspond to NORTH only. Then only names from the South list if I select SOUTH etc

I was curious,

How do you add a Menu to a form? Like is there a way to have a Main Menu bar and add the individual menus/menu items with custom events? As well can i cusomize the context menu for the form, or make a popupmenu that is executed upon clickin a command button?

There is a lot of help on how to attach menus to properties and such, but I can't find an item "Menubar" in the access interface.

How do I build a form which will pull only certain work orders from my table [Work Orders], filter it through a query, [Payroll] which gives me only those work orders which match a certain repID#, for only certain Invoice Dates, and and then display a talley of the total number of times a certain product appears in the field [ProductSold] on the query [Payroll]?

Restore My Menus

I have an application that hides all the normal Access menus, so that the user can only use the buttons that I have put on the screen forms. Now however, when I open up access, I cannot get to any of the Access menus. It shows the toolbar, but not the normal FILE/EDIT...TOOLS/HELP menu.

How do I toggle this back on? Everything I have been able to find so far tells me to go to the TOOLS menu ---- I cannot get to the TOOLS menu.

Thanks. BTW, I am not really as stupid as this post makes me sound.

Restoring Menus

I'm sure there must be a simple answer to this question but I have been unable to locate the answer.
I recently finished a database program under Access 97 and unchecked the boxes to allow menus. Now I need to fix a few mistakes and need to access my code or the menus to do this. Is there a way to get access to my code.
Any help would be appreciated.

Toolbars And Menus Have Gone

I did something in the start up options with this database.

Now when I open it I can't get Access to function as normal.

There is no right click, no tool barr or menu.

Any ideas?

Build Function

I can't find anything in the archive relating to this...

Can someone tell me how to enable the "Build" feature in the Visual Basic screen in 2003, please?

I recently upgraded from 97 and can only find the "Build" feature in Query Design.

In 97 it was available by right clicking the screen and selecting "Build". I have no such option when right clicking in 2003.

Since the introduction of 2003 when you create a custom menu you always get the 'Type in a question for help' tag and the min max close buttons. Is there any way of removing them or disabling them?

Help With Table Build

Can anybody help me build the last table in my database? I have taught myself Access – and can usually get by with a little help from this forum. I have been trying for days to try and solve this !!!

The database is designed to manage feedback questionnaires from attendees of training courses.

I have attached the relationship diagram.

- A course may run for several days. The details of the course are held in the table ‘Courses’. During a course, attendees may be asked to fill in several Questionnaires
- An Attendee is a Person that attends a Course. Attendees are held in the table ‘Attendees’ and their details are held in the table ‘Person’.
- There is a ‘Library’ of questions that sit in the table ‘Questions’
- The questions can be assembled into “Standard Questionnaires”. These sit in the table called “Questdesign” which is a junction table. Assembling a Standard Questionnaire involves using a form to pick questions and give them an order (Qnumber). I HAVE DONE THIS.
- A specific “Questionnaire” is a “Standard Questionnaire” that is used on a specific course. The list of Questionnaires is held in the table “Questionnaire”
- Scoresheet is the junction table between Attendee and Questionnaire (an Attendee on a course may fill in several Questionnaires and a Questionnaire may be filled in by lots of Attendees.)

I now need a table (Scores) in which to put all the scores to the questions (in other words, the scores of the questions on the Questionnaires that are completed by the Attendees on a Course.)

At the end of the day I am aiming to have a form in which:

The Attendee number is entered and all the person’s details are filled in automatically) – I HAVE DONE THIS
The Questionnaire number is entered and all the course details are filled in automatically – I HAVE DONE THIS
A Scoresheet ID is filled in (Autonumber) - I HAVE DONE THIS
A subform appears which shows the right set of questions and question numbers for the appropriate Questionnaire – with a blank column so that the user can fill in the scores which get stored in the Scores Table. - I CAN'T DO THIS !!!

I cannot work out where to link my Scores table and how to build a query that drives the correct behaviour of the subform

I hope I have explained this clearly. I would be so grateful for any help. This Forum is fabulous.

I have some database with columns 'Number', 'Mfr Name' and 'Mfr Part Number'.
Number - internal catalogue item of a company.
Mfr Name - name of a manufacturer where from we purchase the item
Mfr Part Number - part number of a manufacturer where from we purchase the item
Each item may have one or more Mfr Name & Mfr Part Numbers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I need to build a following query:
Input gets part of Mfr Part Number and output is all Mfr Name & Mfr Part Number of match item.

Disable Menus

I have the following code in the on_load of all of my forms to disable all menus:Dim i As IntegerFor i = 1 To CommandBars.CountCommandBars(i).Enabled = FalseNext iThe problem is that when I open a report in preview mode I cannot close, print, etc.Two questions:1. Is the above approach the best way to disable all menus and toolbars?2. How do I add a custom toolbar (already created) to the report preview only. I've tried doing in in the properties and by me.toolbar = "custom toolbar." Neither approach works. I suspect that the code I've used to disable the menus is keeping me from adding custom menus where I want them?I should also mention that I have also turned off all of the menus, toolbars, etc. in the options/startup.Thanks for your help!

Editing Menus

I've created 2 menus using macros and everything works perfectly.
The 2nd menu has 2 commands and I want the second command of the menu to be "activated" only if a specific form is open.Otherwise the command must be in the menu, but not enabled. I also want to put a line between these 2 commands. Is it possible? Thanks in advance
