Sort Listbox Via A To Z Button Press
May 29, 2005Hi,
I need help with listbox problem:
I made a listbox contains peoples name from A to Z.
I want to sort it via A to Z button press.
It's similar with customer phone list form in Northwind.mdb sample,
due to my limited knowledge, I can't replicate it using listbox.
Any sample to do this?

Queries :: Don't Include Certain Records At Press Of A Button
May 7, 2015if its possible to have a button that after clicking it, it doesn't show certain records. Reason being I have a "shows" for each month on our personal site and amazon, and we've been selling on those for about 2 years, and I have a "show" for each month. But, that quickly clutters up the list box. Any way to create a button the (after typing in the name) it doesnt show only those record(s)?

Jul 5, 2005I'm sure this is really simple... apologies, but a search hasn't thrown up any clues.
I have a table with Invoice Value, and Commission Value in it. On the associated form I enter the Invoice Value, and also the Commisison value [which 99% of the time is set at 20%.
I am trying to make a button which, when pressed, enters the calculated commission in the form field (and underlying table) - I realise this could be in the 'On Click' property on the form, but in VBA I am after something like.

tblSales.Commission = tblSales.Invoice * 0.2
End Sub
Could someone help me with the syntax? (I can then move on to using a variable, rather than hard-wiring the 20% ;-)

So when the user selects a listbox item and then EDIT button then form2 gets opened. And the textbox1 of it stores column1 of listbox1 value and textbox2 stores column 2 of listbox1 value. So the user canb make changes in the textbox values and then press SAVE button . Now I want the code that will make those changes in listbox1 of form1 and unload form2 then.

Aug 2, 2013I have a query run that gives me a list of records that I view on a continuos form. What I want is to press a button and run a macro/Append Query to add a Single Summary record to another table.

What I'm looking to get is

Capturing F11 Press, Possible?

I've read a few posts regarding removing the facility of the F11, open Db window, but is there a way to capture if someone presses F11?
I have a few people (users) who think they know a thing or two about Access and I'd like to know if/ when they're accessing the Db window.
I was hoping for the ASCI code or similar for the F11 key!?

Automated Press Adverts - Via The Use Of A Database?
Jan 31, 2006Hi I really hope some one can help me out here.
Here the outline of the situation. Every Friday evening I get sent a load of press adverts, which I have to put on the Intranet. This will involve detaching the ads, renaming them, adding them to the site with the Name of the paper, the date, and the organisation they belong to. What I want to know is if there is a more automated way of doing this. I was thinking weather I could detach and drop the ads into a folder and get a Access database connection to the press ads page. Which in-turn would allow me to insert the ads for the last seven days, yet keep a account of all ads which can be a called upon, via perhaps the use of a search function. This is just one idea I have had, are there any other ways I could make this mundane job easier?..

Keyascii 13 Not Triggering On The Return Key Press
Jul 14, 2005As above, I've noticed that it will only trigger if there are no textboxes on the form with a higher tab index than the control the keyascii is set for. Any ideas why, or what I'm doing wrong?
I've found this a lot and never bothered trying to find a solution till now. :p

May 6, 2005I am trying to get an action to take place when the "enter" key is pressed. The code I have does not recognize the "enter" key. When I put in the "a" key the code works. Forms :: Command Button To Unlock And Lock Fields / Edit Button?
Feb 19, 2014I have created a web-database (? - There are globes over all the forms and tables icons) based on the Issues & Tasks template. This means that most of the data is entered and seen on the "Main" form, which has two tabs - Open Issues and Closed Issues. I have created a form that allows people at my work to input the necessary data and save it, so that it will show up on one of the two tabs. However, once a record has been created, I want to be initially locked if the ID/PK is clicked, so that data can't be changed or entered inadvertently.
SO, I changed the code so that when the ID/PK for a record is clicked, it brings up a different form, but one that looks exactly like the one that is brought up when entering a new form, but I locked all of the fields so that the information cannot be changed. It seems from what I have read that I can create a button on this form so that when clicked, it unlocks the fields on the form so that they can be changed, and then when clicked again it will lock the fields again. Is this true? If so, how can I do it? Or is there something similar I can do? I have seen codes that I could copy and paste, but I cannot figure out the place to copy and paste codes in Access 2010.

Mar 31, 2008Hi there, wondering if anyone can help me.
I Have an access database which my users can add New information into.
On Form 1, there's a combo box called Product, which lists 1,2,3.
What I would like if possible is an ADD button next to the combo box, so if the user doesnt find the product listed in the combo box, they can click on ADD, which then opens a new form, then enter there new product (eg.4), Click Save, Then Form 1 opens and (4) is listed in the combo box. I Hope i have expressed what i want to do.

Command Button To Set Value
Apr 20, 2006I have been working on this for awhile, and can't figure it out for the life of me!
I have a form set up with a drop down box that lets me pick from values from a table based off of the Primary Key of that table (Row Source = SELECT Order.OrderID, Order.OrderName from Order). I have a button on the form that I want to set a value (Closed) from the table entry based off of the order selected.
Pseudo code would go something like this.
Closed.Value = True Where Table.Order.OrderID = SelectedOrderID
Table.Order is a Table Named Order (obviously)
Closed is a yes/no field in my Order table
OrderID is the primarykey of the table Order
SelectedOrderID is the drop down box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apr 26, 2005I, unfortunately, have been singled out as the Access guru in my work area. We have 223 people and the Information Manager has tasked me to modify a database he "found" to be able to track a number of things, but most important to him: performance reports.
I have posted the sample of what I currently have. What is being asked of me is a way in which to have a button or by double-clicking a block where a date would go for all other dates on the form to become non-visible while the current date stored in the computer the database is being worked from be entered in the block where the button or double-click happened. All this links to a report for the IM to be able to track what performace reports are out, and when they are due back to his section. He also wants me to be able to show which are overdue and where they are at. I am not sure if it is at all possible, but with me having spend most of last week purusing the articles on Access here, I know now that nothing is implausible if you happen to go about it the right way.
Since I have read the rules on posting, here is what I have done. I searched the forum for command button and got a lot of really cool ideas to use elsewhere in the database. I looked up the help in the program itself for command button, and got some good information on how a command button works, but I cannot make it put a date into a block. I can enter the date in any block that is a date format, but then I have dates in every block. He only wants to see the most current date in any of the blocks.
Any assistance at this point would be appreciated. If I have missed something in another thread, I apologise in advance.
