Buttons On Ribbons In 2007

Jun 22, 2007

Customizing ribbons in 2007 and having a little trouble with the buttons... It seems I need the listing of the "Button idMso" and the "ImageMso"..... I think I have found the "button id" (I'll know after I try a few) but can't seem to locate a listing of the images. Anyone know? Thanks

Forms :: Access 2007 / Option Group With Alternating Toggle Buttons

Apr 8, 2014

I have an option group with two toggle buttons. Is it possible to set up the option group such that only one toggle button is visible at any given time (i.e. the unselected option) So the group has a default value. Clicking the visible button should switch the value, hide the button (option) associated with that value and show the alternate button (option) for the alternate value?

Basically only having one visible button at any given time which toggles between the two values (but I'd like to retain it as an option group, rather than as two independent buttons, as that gives me a handy value from which to determine control sources elsewhere)

I've tried setting the visibility of the buttons from the AfterUpdate event of the option group but it doesn't work.

I know I can do this with independent buttons but was hoping there was a quick(er) and easy way to do it with an option group instead?

Simple Custom Ribbons??

Jun 7, 2007

OK..... After searching many sites I can't seem to find any simple way to trash the new ribbon and give my apps a toolbar or Menu I want! If it were not for the free packaging and runtime I would trash 2007 all together.... If I'm thinking correctly there is an option on the XP operating system for "Classic view" why couldn't this have been implemented into Access? How bout doing a free release of the packaging wizard for 2003???? hopefully there are some sharp folks out there that will have some ways to do this.....OK.... I'm done venting..........

General :: One Form With Two Custom Ribbons

Aug 13, 2013

I have converted a 2003 database to the 2010 file format. In the 2010 database, I have created the USysRibbons table with 2 separate ribbons. One of the ribbons need to load depending on what the user chooses upon opening the database. I have a form that opens with the database and the user can either choose "Premium" or "Subsidy." I'm uncertain as to why the conversion will not replicate how the database works in 2003 but if I had to assume it would be because of the ribbons. I found a small piece of VBA that I think needs to be changed but I'm not sure to what or how. As of right now, I don't have a ribbon loading, just the form to load when the database is opened. Except I noticed that the "add-ins" opens the correct menu depending on which the user chose.

I actually went into Options--->Current Database--->Ribbon and Toolbar and selected a generic ribbon (File, which just has exit because it's the same whether the user selects Premium or Subsidy).

To clarify if needed, the user doesn't actually log in. The form that pops when the database opens has the drop down of either Premium or Subsidy. So really it goes like this:

Open database
Select Premium
Click Enter
Premium ribbon loads

OR

Open database
Select Subsidy
Click Enter
Subsidy ribbon loads

Technically, if I could have just the form pop I'd be cool with that because on the form there is an Exit Application button where the user could click and exit the database. When either the Premium or Subsidy ribbon is loaded, I already have an exit in the coding.

Public Sub openRegion(authority As String, region As String)
If (cboRegion.value = region) Or (region = "ALL") Then
'open region selected
If cboRegion.value = "PREMIUM" Then
loadPremium authority

[Code] .....

Change Colour Of Navigation Buttons And Command Buttons?

Mar 17, 2006

Is this possible? I can't seem to find this q anywhere here so I thought I'd post.

I changed the colour of my form to white, but the Navigation Buttons at the bottom and the command buttons that I 've added stay at the default grey.

Is there anyway to change this? I right-clicked and tried changing it to white through the properties but there's nothing there that does this.

Access 2007 Crashes On Excel 2007 Import

Mar 21, 2008

On trying to import an Excel 2007 file into Access 2007 I get the following:

1) Choose "External Data," Import, Exce
2) Select small file in MS Excel 2007 format.
3) Click on Import the source data into a new table ...
4) Choose OK

Immediately get "Microsoft Office Access has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." This message never resolves, so I have to click 'Cancel'.

Then I get "Microsoft Office Access is trying to recover your information..." I have to click "Cancel" here as well and then kill MS Access in Task Manager.

Event Viewer gives following message, which is of no help:
"ID: 2, Application Name: Microsoft Office Access, Application Version: 12.0.6211.1000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6215.1000. This session lasted 710 seconds with 120 seconds of active time. This session ended with a crash."

Trying to import a small Excel 2003 file leads the same result. The same happens with a CSV file.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 as well. I am using Vista Ultimate.

I have turned off DEP.

How can I get MS Access 2007 to import Excel?

Thanks

Ken

Access 2007 Runtime Not Visible In Access 2007

Nov 26, 2007

I installed Office Enterprise 2007. Then I installed DEveloper Exrtensions, then Access Runtime 2007. All appear to have installed OK - they appear in Program and Features.
Instructions on runtime packaging tell me that a Developer option should appear in the resulting drop-down when I click the Office button (top-left round thing) when I have a d/b open in Access. It's not there! I have un-installed and re-installed the extensions and the runtime - still nothing!
Help!
I do have Runtime 2002 (XP) on the same PC, is that relevant?

Buttons & Kb's

Mar 16, 2005

I have been making some custom buttons and noticed that the size of my db went up 360kb after I added two buttons. One button consists of two images and the other button one image. The original file size was 2kb for each image. Is 360kb a normal increase in db size after converting images to buttons?
There might be a hefty price to pay, in db size, if I get carried away and add my "up market" buttons to all my forms!

Cmd Buttons

Feb 13, 2005

I have a form that's unbound (Music) with a subform (Arist Info)that is bound. This subform also contains two other Subforms (bound).
Their names are (Album Info) and (Song Info). The subform (artist Info) contains some pagebreaks, which I'm trying to use to bring up
the two other subforms .The cmd buttons used to control the pagebreaks are located on the main form (Music). My problem is with the third & fourth cmd buttons. I can go back & forth nicely with the first two, and even go the the third. That's were the problem starts. I can't go back to the secound or first from the third or go to the four. The VB code haults and the GoToPage line is highlighted. The code use on the on click event is as followed:

Forms!Music.SetFocus
Forms!Music![Artist Info].SetFocus
Me.GoToPage 1

The only thing that changes between all four of the is the page#. I hope someone can help me with this, it's driving me crazy not knowing what i'm doing wrong. If you need to look at a smaple DB there's one on a post called "Problem dealing with macros". I just posted this one a few days ago.

Thanks,
Rich M.

Command Buttons

Mar 24, 2006

I am a newbie at Access and I am currently learning it for my job...I have a database going and I am wanting to do two things and I can not figure it out for the life of me.

Little background, the database I made is a continuous form. I am wanting a command button that when pushed will put it in data entry mode, and when pressed again will put back in a 'view all' state. I know it is a simple If Then, but I don't know VBA very well =

Other thing, is I wanting to be able have button that when pressed will output to an excel sheet, right now I have it when it is pressed it asks me what kind of format I want outputted, and I want it automated to just go straight to excel.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Scroll Up Down Buttons

May 13, 2005

The detail section of my (continuous) form may or may not have a scroll bar on the side depending on the number of records. When it is there, it is way off to the side and the user may not notice that there are more records to view. I'd like to add Up/Down buttons to the footer that become visible when the scroll bar is visible, and work like the Up/Down buttons on the scroll bar.

Can anyone suggest how I might code this?

Thanks,

Sup

Navigation Buttons

May 16, 2005

First time user - so please forgive if this is already out there.

I want to hide the navigation buttons on a form and create a custom set of controls. I can create the buttons themselves but am having trouble with the "N of X", where:

X is the total number of records in the query, and
N is the current record showing in the form.

I can get X but how would I capture and display "N".

Any help would be appreciated.

Navigation Buttons

Sep 27, 2005

I searched the forum on custom navigation buttons and found great posts about it. I downloaded 3 samples and the one that fit what I needed was SJ McAbney's dbNavSubform.zip. sfrmNavigation (http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=87791) I imported sfrmNavigation per SJ McAbney's on the post into my database.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I posted on the thread: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=88880
But I didn't get any responses.. I don't know if it's been overlooked.

I am encountering problems when I use dbNavSubForm in my database.

1. I made 2 copies of sfrmNavigation and I am using it on 2 of my forms.
On the main form that I am using it when I first open the database it shows record 1 of 1 when really there is more than 1 record. When I click on the next button it then goes to say 2 of 15.
How can I fix this so that when I open the database it will say 1 of 15 and not 1 of 1?

2. I have a Main form ex: frmMain and a subform on frmMain. I added the the subform (dbNavSubForm) onto my subform. Make sense? Here the navigation buttons do not work. When I try to add a new record it tells me "The object frmTOItems isn't open" When I try to click on the next or previous it tells me "Object variable or With block variable not set. How can I fix this?

I have captured a picture of my form so that you can see what I mean.

Thanks in advance
