Calculate Date But Set Value To End Of Year

Sep 14, 2013

I am trying to calculate when the next test date is. It is 10 years from the last test but not until the end of whatever year it is in.So if the date is 5/1/02 then the next test is not due until 12/31/12. I have used this code

Code:
=DateSerial(Year([LastCoilTest])+10,Month([LastCoilTest]),Day([LastCoilTest]))

to get the 10 years added but I am not sure how to get it to go to the end of that year.

Queries :: Calculate Fiscal Year And Month From A Date

Jul 13, 2015

I want to build a query that calculates the fiscal year and the month from a date on-the-fly. I tried to do it in VBA, but it's more complicated than in query I guess. So this is my table:

The date is on the left, in the middle I want to have calculated Jan 14 and on the right I want 14/15.

In VBA I started with this: strMonth = MonthName(Month(A), True) & " " & Format(A, "YY") which gave me "Jan 08". But the date was hard-coded and not from my table. Then I tried to store the information by SQL statement into a string. But this also didn't work, the types were different.

Code:
UPDATE tblSAPOD
SET sapOD_month = Year([sapOD_OrderDate])-IIf([sapOD_OrderDate]<
DateSerial(Year([sapOD_OrderDate]),6,16),1,0)
WHERE sapOD_OrderDate Like "*/*/94";

.. but I guess it's wrong, it gives me a syntax error.

HELP: Changing Dates To FY (fiscal Year) And YTD (year-to-date) Values

Apr 25, 2006

I have a huge table with transaction dates. I need to slice and dice
this data (sum, %'s, etc), but group by FY. Our fiscal year is from
7/1 thru 6/1.

For example:
1/8/2004 = FY 2004,
8/12/2004 = FY 2005,
2/3/2006 = FY 2006

THEN . . . . I need to also isolate certain periods, for example July-
March for YTD (year-to-date) analysis and compare YTD of 2006 with that
of 2005.

What do you suggest? Many thanks.

Sum Of Current Year Minus The Year Of A Date In Past?

Apr 25, 2014

I'm trying to add a couple of fields to the Contact database in Access 2010.

In the Contacts table, I created a field called "Sobriety Date" that has dates formatted like 12/27/1995

I am trying to add a calculated field called "Years Sober" which should be the current year minus the year in the 'Sobriety Date' field (1995 in the example above).

I have been trying to tweak this:

SUM(DatePart("yyyy",[Date]) - DatePart("yyyy",[Sobriety Date]))

but it's not working. Keeps giving me "The expression that you entered is not valid for web-compatible calculated columns"

Calculate Number Of Entries By Year And Frequency

May 2, 2006

Hi, am sure this is simple....! Can't find a solution.

I have records which have YEAR and APPARATUS as two of the fields. All I want to do is write a query which displays all the records chronologically by YEAR then within each YEAR to group them by the biggest subset according to APPARARTUS.

Therefore if there were 20 people who used Motorised equipment, 15 who used electrical and 10 who used gas, the records would be grouped in that order. Thus showing the pattern in change in use of specific apparatus over the years.

Why can't I DO THIS!!??

Year And Date - Show Day Of Year As Three Numbers

Jan 10, 2012

I'm going to try using the year, day of year, hour & minute (24 hour clock) as a report number. It's set up in a field on a table. Right now I have....

Default Value =Format(Now(),"yyyhhnn") 'which works but not exactly how I would like

yy = Last two digits of the year
y = Number of the day of the year (1 to 366) 'can this show three digits all the time?
hh = Hour in two digits (00 to 23)
nn = Minute in two digits (00 to 59)

For instance, right now for Jan. 10th, 2012, 1306 hours the result would be 12101304 which, for all intents and purposes works, but I would prefer the "day of the year" to always be represented by three digits and not just when it hits day 100 of the year.

I would prefer to see 120101304

However, when running the query, I get the attached error message.

Tables :: Calculate Default Date Value Based On Todays Date

Jul 16, 2014

I have a database which stores information relating to club members, which I'm in the middle of giving a bit of a facelift and one thing I want to automate is the calculation of the expiry date.

My memberships expire annually at the end of December and the expiry date is set as a default value within the table properties. This has to be manually changed every September (every new member from then pays for 15 months) to the following December.

Is there a formula I can insert in the defaul value field that will return December the current year if todays date is between January and August, and December next year if todays date is between September and December?

Add And Display 1 Year After Date

Oct 5, 2012

It's a small publishing business with a monthly newsletter. Access and database set-ups is not really my field but I'm going to give it a as much of my time as I can. I've gone through a number of tutorials and most of it is reasonably digestible but I think I have stumbled upon a hurdle.

The newsletter is a yearly paid-subscription and I need to be able to put up a sort of query/reminder of which subscribers need to renew. So that means I need to add 1 year to the subscribe date. After a bit of Googling I found a lot of DateAdd() function references for a similar problem but nothing really explaining how or where to implement it.

DateAdd("m", 12, [DateLastCalibrated])

I assume the [DateLastCalibrated] should be able to be replaced with my subscribed date but I get a number of invalid errors. Does it have to be implemented as a query? Should I create a calculate field? Do I even need to use this!?
