Calculated Field To Extract 14 Day Period And Check If Today Date Falls Within?
Dec 3, 2012
I've got a members table where my members pay an annual fee. The fee is paid 12 months on from when they originally registered. So, for example, 12 months from today, i would expect to pay my next annual fee.
Now, with different members registering at different times of the year, it isn't so straightforward. I would like my calculated field to indicate to me if a payment is required.Furthermore, I would like to include a '' date range '' so that the calculated field entitled ''Payment Required?'' shows yes for a fortnight. Here is my attempt at the expression which partially works:
PaymentRequired?: IIf((Format(Date(),"dd/mm")>= [RenewalDate] And Format(Date(),"dd/mm")<=[RenewalDateAdd14])Or ([Subscription Paid?]=0),"Yes","No")
i used the Format Date method. But i've got a case where someone is due to pay at the end of November...and today being teh 3rd of December.they should have a good few days yet to pay the fee (before teh aforementioned 14 days is up)
In my Access app I need to get the latest record added of an item from a MS Sql table and check the period between now and the date saved in the record.
So my guess is: Select TOP 1 * from tbl_StockItems Where StockId = Loc_StockId
I then need to check the days between tbl_StockItems.LastStockDate and Today.
How would I write an Access VBA query to give me the amount of days and put that number into a variable.
I want to check if a date falls between the first date of a year and the last date of a year.
The goal is to go through a table in the database that contains dates in a column. There are for example several dates in the year 2014 and there are dates in the year 2015.
What i want to do is get a list in a report that shows me for every year a line in the list with other data that i will calculate. So a line for 2014 and a line for 2015.
Having issues with getting auto update of Yes/No field dependant on todays date.
When users open the form the code runs through and checks all entries and updates the records if either of the dates in two separate fields is less than today. The issue I have is when some users are already using this form a second user cannot open it. Error shows other user information as having the form locked and code halts at highlighted spot below. Is there another way of ensuring this field is updated to Yes or No if the date in the field is less than current date.
Code: Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Dim dbs As DAO.Database Set dbs = CurrentDb
I am trying to do some simple table operations. I have a field (Date) containing dates, and an empty field called Day.
I want to extract the day number from the Date field, and write it to the Day field.
I didn't get very far until I ran into trouble when setting my recordset. I get the error "Too few parameters, expected 1". Clicking "Debug", will highlight the code line "Set rs = db.OpenRecordset(sqlString, dbOpenDynaset)".
So far, my code looks as follows:
Code: Private Sub Command16_Click() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim sqlString As String Dim dataDay As Byte 'Open connection to current Access database Set db = CurrentDb()
[Code]...
I am not very familiar with the various types of recordset settings. I just want to be able to read data from the Date field, and write data to the Day field.
Hi folks - I saw a thread last week re how to extract the year from the date field possibly using date serial but can't find it can anyone help - it is probably very simple but i can't get it to work.

Each of the tables has fields for: -StartDate -EndDate
The logic behind the database is that each service is contracted for certain period, from StartDate until EndDate (if EndDate is not given - null - it means it is a permanent contract). For each service, we need to input prices. As prices may change during time, we may have different prices records for a service - we need to have the service period broken down into subperiods with different prices. So we need StartDate and EndDate for each period for which particular prices are valid (again, if EndDate is not given - null - it means the prices are valid "forever" into the future from the StartDate).
My problem is: I want to have a check that would return the number of services which period (tblServices) is not fully reflected in the prices periods (tblPricesPeriods). Those would be for example:
-gaps between subperiods (subperiod1 finishing 30.09.2014 and subperiod 2 starting 3.10.2014) -service period (tblServices) limited by EndDate (not null), while prices period for this service (tblPricesPeriods) having null as EndDate -start date for service (tblServices) earlier than earliest start date for prices periods for this service (tblPricesPeriods) -...
Preferably, I'd like to use a normal query for that (or set of queries), but I'm opened to other options.
I have a database which I've creating but now want to make others available to update - in the past this has not gone well! The database uses data from two excel sheets and the problem has been people do not always check if these have been updated today before running and therefore the database gets loaded with old data.I have found code that will check and display a message showing datelastmodified for a file but what i'm trying to find is code which will check both files' datelast modified, if they are modified today then run the update macro, if one or both are not modified today, then to display a message saying that the excel is not updated.
We use access to enter our service tickets in at work. What we have are three date fields.
Call Date Start Date End Date
We are 24/7 operation.Currently all 3 just autopopulate with the current date. What i would like to do is ADD a CHECKBOX next to each Date Field. And make it work like this.
1. let them autopopulate as they are currently 2. if you end the call AFTER MIDNIGHT (the next day). CHECKING the box would automatically populate yesterdays date in each of the fields that has the check box CHECKED
I want to find out the last 6 months date from todays date. So as todays date is 27th january 2015 so the code should give me the date which is 6 months back from todays date so it will be something like 27th July 2014.
I have a query where I display the [OPEN DATE] and [CLOSE DATE] of my cases. However, when I run this query sometimes the cases are not closed yet, therefore there are null values. However, I also have a field to calculate the datediff between these two dates. I need the [CLOSE DATE] field to display today's date when it is a null value so that I can still get a count of the days using datediff when I run the query.
I am trying to add a calculated date field in a query, I have 2 fields and 1 of them has a date and the other one i would like to to be 3 years from the date of the first field.
I am having a problem with calculating a date field in a query. Prior to this posting I've done some research and made several changes to my query. This only resulted in fixing one problem but then creating another problem. Original problem was I had 2 fields, arrived (23:36) and stemi (0:07). I use the following calculation AT_ST: DateDiff("n",[arrived],[stemi]) which resulted in -1409. So my research showed me I had a problem with the date whenever the time went past midnight and trying to calculate a zero hour number. I changed my calculation to
AT_ST: IIf([stemi]>=#11:59:00 PM#,(DateDiff("n",[arrived],[stemi])),(DateDiff("n",[arrived],[stemi]+1440) Mod 1440))
This works fine and gives me the result of 31 minutes which is what I want, however the problems comes in when I change to this calculation any where there was a negative time now has a 1400+ plus value. Such as arrived (7:37) and 1st_eck (7:18) = 1426 where as before it would report -14 (yes, negatives are acceptable for my reporting because sometimes a call to the hospital is placed before the patient arrives so we want to report on the negative splits). I've tried using a nested IIF to calculate for stemi time being less than arrived time, this didn't work when I tried to use it on the calculated query field. I was wondering if I could write something to check the value of the calculated field if it is greater than 1440 and if yes - subtract 1440 from it. So in the example above 1426-1440 = -14. Is it possible to do this within the query or do I need to do it using VBA
Hi I have a form that I use to capture information. The "DateReceived" field prefills with todays date. I also have a "DateResolved" field that I would like to prefill with the current date, however that date would be different from the Date Received date. The reason for this is because user logs information then goes back into the form and closes the case by entering a Date Resolved. Thank you
Hi i know it is simple but can someone tell me how to work out an age of someone using their date of birth and the date now please. thanks i cannot remember the formula.
If I have four date Fields in a query, Astart, Bstart, Cstart, and Dstart and want to have a calculated field to find the latest date for each record how would I do that? I have tried things like:
I have placed a calender object in Access 2003 on a form of mine and would like it to show the current date. Is there a way to set a default? IF it is code, where does it go?
I have a form that people have to fill in to report when someone is off sick.
The first notification they have is that the person is off sick - so they can only enter a start date on the form, and have to leave the end date blank
I want the end date to always be "today" - and to automatically update to "today" until an end date is entered by the user. To enter the end date, the user will go back to the original record where they put the start date in, and then enter the end date.
Any ideas... using date () will put today's date in, but then when I go in tomorrow, it will say yesterday's date...
