Calculating Total Time Worked

I have a table in access that has 1 ) persons ID and ) log date/time 3) direction in or out

I need to calculate the amount of time spent by the person in the office. e.g User with ID 1 will come in at 8 in the morning and go out after an hour then come in again and go out. Till he leaves out for the day. I need to find the first time he came in and last time he went out and find the difference for the hours he worked

The data is in Device logs table.

Calculating Employee Overtime Worked (weekly Total)

Hello my beautiful worldwide friends :D
I am trying to calculate employee Overtime hours from their recorded TimeIn and TimeOut if over 7.5 hours. So anyday they work past 7.5 hours should be calculated and totalled at the end of the week. And i can't seem to figure it out, maybe my maths is bad? Maybe it's my query? The section of my report? What could i be doing wrong here, i have spent hours and im getting no where.

I have attached my report.
Can you help me figure out why my daily total shows but the weekly total is not showing?

I have a database consisting of two tables. One is "articles" and the other is "tasks". To put it simply, I would like to find how much time the article spends in tasks, but one article can have many tasks, and they often (but not always) overlap. Tasks have a start and end date field.

Queries :: Time Sheet / Payroll Database - Calculating Total Daily Hours

Access Query. I am creating a time sheet / pay roll database and I want to be able to get a total of the daily hours in a query.

For example I have 'Mon Start' and 'Mon Finish' for Mondays in/out times and I have a 'Mon Total' which gives me the total hours worked for Monday.

The problem I have is that Mon Total only works if the hours are say between 07:00 and 17:00, anything after midnight (00:00) like 21:00 to 07:00 and 'Mon Total' goes crazy !!

At the moment 'Mon Total' is the result of CDate 'Mon Finish' - 'Mon Start' (bit rough I know).

hi, i want to calculate how long each person has worked at a company.

i am using access 97.

would i be able to enter something in the criteria that would work this out for me?

something like year([START DATE]) - year(Now())
this does not work but i want to find out the number of years a person has worked for the company from the field START DATE .

Hi Guys

I need to create a method of calculating -week number,hours worked per week and a leiu hours total.

Explanation

Users enter their worked hours per day. I need to calculate the total hours worked per user per week and if this is greater or less than their contracted hours a record of this figure over a continual time period (or year).

Variables :- Time worked,Holiday hours,Leiu hours taken,Sick leave, Other authorised leave.

I realise that i'm asking on a lot but working for a charity has financial limits.

Time Keeping DB - Best Field Format For Working Out Hours Worked

Hi, I am creating a time keeping db.

Before I jump in and start creating a way to record times worked I thought it best to ask for advice.

The db is created and the last part is to capture by member:
Basically I have the following fields:

MemberID
Job Type
Date of Job
Time Started
Time Finished

From the data captured I need to create a report to show month and ytd hours worked.

It would be easy to ask the user to calculate the hours worked and input the number of hours, however I would like to capture start and finish times.

Can anyone give me any pointers on the best field types and field formats for capturing times which would then make it easier to work out hours worked.

Need Help With Calculating Total Row In Query

I quess it should be simple. But I couldn't find an answer or example in Access books and online.
I have an access 2000 database with a Accounts Receivable table. I am building a query that returns accounts what are 60 days past due and calculating total ballance of ONLY past 60 days accounts. I managed to write a code to display 60 days past due acounts, but when I use UNION query, it calculates total from entire Accounts Receivable table, but I need only total ballance of past due accounts.

Here is my SQL code

SELECT [Accounts Receivable].InvoiceID, [Accounts Receivable].[Patient Last Name], [Accounts Receivable].[Patient#], [Accounts Receivable].InvoiceDate, [Accounts Receivable].PaymentAmount
FROM [Accounts Receivable]
WHERE ((([Accounts Receivable].InvoiceDate)<Date()-60))
UNION SELECT 'TOTAL', "","","",Sum([Accounts Receivable].PaymentAmount)
FROM [Accounts Receivable];

I need my query to look like this.

InvoiceID Patient Last Name Invoice Date Payment Amount

25 Doe 04/03/2007 $200
Total - - $300

Calculating Total From A Subform

Hi,
Attached is a project I'm working on. We want to calculate the total delays on each day. In a form called 'main' there is a subform for the delays on that date. But the 'Total Delays' control does not work.
I have used the following format to get the total from the subform:
=Delays.Forms!TotalDelay
'TotalDelay' is the name of the control which calculates the total of the delays within the subform.
I have used the =[Delays].[Forms]![TotalDelay] format in other projects and it works. However in this program when I want to save the form, the control source is changed to :=Delays.Forms!TotalDelay (the brackets are removed)

Calculating Total In A Subform

I have a Main form with a sub form. Every record in the main form has multiple sub form records. (they are linked in a one to many relationship)

Each subform record has a "price" text box. I would like a total of all the "price" text boxes for that main record to be displayed in the main form.

It needs to be updated when a new subform record is added or changed.

Calculating Total Cost

I am currently making a database project for a school assignment.

I have based the project idea on a local hotel, which consits of a diffrent price dependant on the date booked.

So i have set up a table called "prices" which consits of the following fields:

PriceID
RoomID *
Price
Start Date
End Date

the RoomID is the foreign key, as it is linked (one-to-many) with my Room's table, which consists of the following fields:

RoomID *
Room Number
.. (unecessary fields for the problem)

The room ID is also linked to the bookings table (again one-to-many) with the bookings table consisting of:

BookingID
CustomerID
RoomID
Start Date
End Date
... (uneccessary fields)


what i am hoping to do is (i assume) make a query that will calculate the cost the customer has to pay. So it will look at the start and end date booked in the bookings table and comapre it to the dates in prices table, and find out the cost from this....

any help on going about this would be greatly appreciated, and i hope i have supplied sufficient information (i'll try attach a graphical image of the relationships if that is helpful?)

I have a working dB which can calculate a shift duration and sum total all shifts worked within a period for the purpose of producing a labor report for payroll. I have successfully used the DateDiff function and converted the minutes to HH:MM on my form and reports. Now I want to calculate elapsed time for a specific period within a shift, I'll call it OtherHours and I am aiming to calculate a portion of time that meet the following conditions below. I am using field names of [PunchIn] and [PunchOut] and both are of type General Date.

IF [PunchOut] ISNOT Saturday,Sunday
EXIT FUNCTION
ELSE
IF [PunchOut] ISNOT Between Midnight and 0559 hours
EXIT FUNCTION
ELSE
DATEDIFF ("n", <MIDNIGHT>, [PunchOut])

My thoughts are to solve the DateDiff portion and then figure out how to apply the conditions within the IF statements.

some products are costed by weight and others by piece.

Is it possible to write an expression that, depending on the unit of measure uses the pcs or weight field to calculate the total cost ??????

Calculating Fiscal Year Total

I need to provide a report on data over a fiscal year that has the following format:

apr 03
may 03
jun 03
q1 total
jul 03
aug 03
sep 03
q2 total
oct 03
nov 03
dec 03
q3 total
jan 04
feb 04
mar 04
q4 total
year total

I can group by quarter and sum() in the group footer which works, but when I group by year I get totals for 03 and 04 separately. I have also tried sum() and dsum() in the page footer, which gives #error, and vba in page footer:

which calculates properly in the detail section (var watching "pageTotal") but outputs nothing in the footer, though the name of the text box in the footer is correct.
If anyone can see an error in what I'm doing or suggest another approach, I would really appreciate it, this is driving me nuts.

I have a personal expenditure data base indicating daily expenditure on various heads ( File Attached). I want table to reflect expenditure on various heads on daily basis in COLTOT column. Any subsequent change in any of the field to be dynamically updated.Presently I am exporting file to excel and calculating the total there and then manually updating the COLTOT field. Other alternative I tried was to create a form and make a text field and sum the fields using formula like =nz([milk])+nz([vegetables]). I feel it may be unwieldy for such large number of expenditure heads.

I wan't to calculate the price totals but for each instance of Uvoz ID separately. I've sucessfully used Dsum function but I managed only to calculate all price totals for all instances of Uvoz ID. Is it possible to do it for each number of Uvoz ID separately? How do I do it?

Queries :: Running Total Query Not Calculating First Fiscal Year

I am trying to create a running total query that aggregates project funding by fiscal year. The fiscal year is calculated based on a date time field that is never null. The totals field comes from 2 different number fields that are either 0 or > 0. The query is going to be linked to by Excel, so I have to do the running total in the query itself, vs. a report.It is close to working, except that it is not totalling the first fiscal year. The output surrently looks like this:

Calculating Time

Hi there,

I need some help with calculating login/logout times. I have an ODBC link set up for the raw data in AVAYA. The problem is that the login/logout times are reflected as the number of seconds that have passed since January 1st, 1970. I need to know what that amount in seconds is in a time format.

I have worked out the number of days difference between my rowdate and the start date of 01/01/1970 so I am left with how many seconds have passed since midnight of the selected date.

For example, the selected date is 3/7/07. The Login time is 5410 (seconds passed since 3/7/07 00:00:00). How do I figure out what time that was (hh:mm:ss)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I have been struggling with this for 2 weeks now. I give up and am now going to ask for help. I am trying to calculate time.
I have been trying to do this in the query.
I have 4 fields
Start
Finish
Start2
Finish2
I need to figure out how many minutes total a letter was worked on. The reason for the 2 time sets is because they could start a letter and then stop and then come back to it later.
So I think what I need to do is figure out how many hours and minutes for the 1st Start/Finish set, then figure out the hours and minutes for the 2nd Start/Finish set and then add the two together.
Can anyone help me out here. Like I said I am at my whits end.
Oh the fields are formatted in the Date/Time data type.

I'm trying to write a query to figure out the time something was delivered. I have the following information to work with:

Estimated arrival time: 13:00
Loaded Time : 14:00
Trip Time : 2.5hr - - how do I conver this to Hr's & Min.?

I need to subtract the ETA & the Load time and then subtract half the trip time.

Any help would be appreciated

I have a file that collects the time data of the shop employees. It records time in (start of day), time out (lunch start), time in (lunch end) and time out (end of day).

Calculating Time In Queries

I have the following feilds in a query: Timein Timeout
I need a subtotal feild that totals the two across midnight
I also need a Lunch feild
Then I need a total feild with the subtotal and total subtracted

I tried using this expression please help anyone if you can

Format([Timein] -1 -[Timeout], "Short Time") this created my subtotal feild

then I had a made lunch feild with 30 mins of time into it

then i tried Format([subtotal] -1 -[lunch], "Short Time") and called this one my total box.

The first one worked the second reported an error. Please any suggestions??

Time Date Formatting For Calculating

Apologies if this has been asked before but I have a problem with being able to format a field to accept an hours and minutes value where the hours is likely to be greater than 23.

I have a form that is related to the number of hours that people spend in respite care. Entry and exit dates are provided in a standard way - date and time - and I have a calculating field that calculates the number of hours and minutes that a person spends at the respite centre based on the entries made in the entry and exit fields.

Because the calculating field is based on a module and I need to have the calculated amount included in the table, I have set up a VBA code to copy the result of the calculation into a controlled field elsewhere in the form.

However, I also need the form to do a simple calculation whereby hours spent away from the centre are subtracted from the total hours calculated by the module, so I need the copied value to be in a format where the calcualtion is able to be performed.

In a nutshell I guess I am looking for a time format for the field that will allow the recipt of a value greater than 23 hours.

Of course perhaps I need a more sophisticated VBA script to perform the calculation behind the scenes but I admit to not being particularly at ease with VBA scripting. If anybody has any suggestions about either a format or a suggestion for a VBA script, I would be very appreciative.
