Calculating Variable Income Tax

I am trying to calculate variable income tax but can't seem to get it to work.
I have a query called payslips which calculates gross income based on hrs worked and payrate. I then have a separate tax table called TaxThreshWitheld which states the earnings and the tax witheld. I am trying to create a query that selects the tax witheld when earning from the taxwitheld table equals the gross field from the payslip query.
The two tables aren't linked and I am not sure how to link them. I tried to link "earnings" and "gross" but that causes the query not to run...

I am currently using Access 2007 and have created a huge database for our investment managers to calculate the income based on percentages. The percentages are created in Excel. I have uploaded into the database both the June and the July percentages. When I run the query for my report using the date range for June, it works fine. When I request just the July information (entering the date range for July) the June data is doubled on the report.

:confused: I wish to construct a form that displays a graph showing the monthly sales totals year on year. In this way - I will be able to see quite easily how the present monthly income compares to previous years.
Therefore, each year will have its own data series on the graph... the problem I have is that I wish the graph to automatically recognise the roll-over to the next year thereby creating the next series for that year.
This would mean having the months Jan-Dec on the X axis and the income scale as the Y axis. Each data series representing the year.
Otherwise, the alternative is to manually change the underlying datasource every year to include .... has anyone done anything similar to this that they would be willing to share please?

I'd like to be able to input the amount I invoice each month into a table and it would calculate Vat and Income tax due.

I made the following query to get the result I wanted.
Unfortunately, the result seems to be multiplied instead of summarized.

I have this columns :
Income | Outcome | Transport | Total Income | Date
Total Income (N) = Income (N) + Transport (N-1)
Total income equals income from that day + transport from previous day
Transport (N) = Total Income (N) - Outcome (N)
Transport from previous day equals Total Income minus outcome
How can I calculate the transport from previous day to sum to next day total income?

I have to create a query to calculate the Base Income per room.
Guest 1-4 is the standard room rate say $125/day, guests 5 & 6 pay additional $20 charge per day. Guests staying for seven days or more receive a 10% discount. How to build this expression into a query in access. If it was Excel that would be easier.

I am creating a 2 level report to confirm an order. Main report already created, runs successfully called as subform/subreport under "OrderDetails" form. Linked to master using Order.ID. There are two versions of the confirmation report that have different layouts for different program types.
The hangup comes when I try to add a "Class Dates" subreport. It lists dates of individual classes and Skip dates. I have created the subreport as "srClassDates". When I add it to the main report, it lists the records. However, when I try to link it to the Main report, an error message box appears with the "object variable or With block variable not set".
I have tried rebuilding both the main and subreports, rebuilt the query, have not found anything that changes the result.
Linker has been working successfully on other subforms. Report with groupings works fine, but I need data from 2 tables both linked to order.id.

Error 91 - Object variable or With block variable not set
I am getting this error telling me that an object variable is not set.
I know which variable it is but when I step through the debugger it sets the variable and all is fine? Issue is that public variable of a class is not getting set when the VBA Editor is not open?

I look at a lot of files to see when they were last updated. I wanted to write a generic procedure to manage that so ..

What I hoped Me.vField would do is update the date field [txt_gts_data] on my form with the date the file was last saved.
i.e. me. txt_gts_data = fDate
What actually happens is the variable vfield gets updated from "txt_gts_data" to 19/08/2014 then later code falls over because the fieldname is lost .
Me.[vField] corrects itself to me.vField (and does not work)
Me!vfield falls over (cannot find the field vField, not surprising J)
How do I say update the contents of the variable, not the variable itself?

Runtime error '91'
Running Access 2010.
I have two reports running off of the same crosstab query. I copied one report to make the second report, then modified the second report to change the background of column fields satisfying certain conditions. These lines of code were added to the Detail_Format section, in color below. The report with the extra code lines does not error--the original report errors.

If I say OK (rather than debug) after the error message, I can then click the button for the report again and it runs without complaint. And, as I said, the report with the added code never errors.

I have a networked database. It is accessed with computers that have both Office 2002, and office 2003. I get the following error message on computers with Office 2003:
"Object variable or With block variable not set"
It happens occasionally and the problem generally fixes itself so I dont think there is anything wrong with my coding.
And when it happens on the computers with office 2003 the ones with office 2002 can open the database fine.
What can be causing this?

I get this error message, " object variable or with block variable not set", when I'm in the design view of a form wanting to use the command button wizard. Using a brand new database/blank I imported a table from my database in question. I then tried to make a new form and put a button on it. It worked for awhile but then when I close the database and reopen it to add another button to the same form, I get the error message again. It isn't a problem that is specific to my homeschool database. It affects all the database I use/maintain as well as any new "test" databases I've made trying to figure out this problem. I looked at references before and after the error occurs and there is not difference. I've also looked at code but don't see anything code that requires variables to be defined. In the case of the test database with one table and one form there is no code to look at until I make a button before exiting and even then, I don't see anything weird.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
I've attached the original database I was working on when the problems began.
Is it possible for a database program to adjust security levels on certain reference libraries when installed on ones computer, thus making all other database act up that are using those libraries?

hi all,
i have a mainform with a subform.
in the subform i have 2 fields: duur and subtotaal
in duur i enter a number.
in subtotaal a calculation has to occur: =20*([duur]/60)
i tried to do this calculation in VBA but then i got the same value on every record in the subform.
But now the problem:
in the mainform i have a control 'totaal' that needs to do a DSum of subtotaal.
And here i am getting into troubles since subtotaal is not stored in the table but calculated.
The formulla for DSum would be:
Me.Parent!totaal = DSum("subtotaal", "tblFacturenDetail", "[FactuurID] = " & Me.Parent!FactuurID)
but as said, subtotaal is not stored.
How should i proceed?

I am designing a new database for our life and disability department and they have several different policies where the base life insurance reduces at certain ages.
Please take a look at the scenarios listed below and give me any suggestions and tips on the best way to get this done. If you have any.
Below are the 12 scenarios:
1.) Reduces 75% at Age 70
2.) Age 65 to 70 the life amount is $9,000 and Age 70 and over the life amount is $6,000
3.) Reduces at age 65 by 92%, age 66 by 84.64%, age 67 by 77.869%, age 68 by 71.639%, age 69 by 65.908% and age 70 and over by 40%.
4.) On the day following the 70th birthday, the life amount will reduce to 70%. On the day following the 75th birthday the life amount will reduce to 40% of the 70th birthday reduced amount.
5.) On the Policy Anniversary Date following the 70th birthday - reduces 50%
6.) On the Premium Due Date following the 70th birthday, the life amount will reduce to 70%. On the Premium Due Date following the 75th birthday, life amount will reduce to 40% of the amount of the 70th birthday reduced amt.
7.) Age 65 life amount reduces to 65%. Age 70 life amount reduces to 35%. Age 75 life amount reduces to 25%.
8.) Terminates on the first of the month following the 65th birthday.
9.) Terminates Age 70
10.) Terminates on date of retirement or 1st or month following 70th birthday
11.) Terminates Age 65
12.) Never Reduces

I have a database containing values in 16 fields. the fields are filled in over a period of three years. I would like to be able to calculate the average of the last four values entered, regardless of when in the cycle the value is required. I have tryed to use quereies but connot find away to assign the four fields to the expression so that it is the last four values and if four don't exist, avearage what values there are.

I am new to Microsoft Access (2002) and the Access Word Forums. I am in need of a way to calculate timespent on six main topics through an 8 hr. working day. If I worked on Topic "A" from 8:00am to 8:15am, I need it to calculate it to 15 minutes. Then I need to figure a way to calculate how much time was spent doing Topic "A" for the working day, then by the workweek, then by the month.
I'm willing to learn, if someone has the time to teach or can direct me to a link that discusses something similar to what I am looking for. Any and all suggestions welcomed. I am looking forward to doing this in a timesheet format if possible.

I think this should be simple, but I am struggling to work it out
In a relational database I have a stock table containing stock and quantities, there is a customer table with an order table used as the link table also containing quantities.
What I am trying to do is place an order using an order form linked to the order table, automatically reducing the stock table by the amount ordered.
I have tried an update query with no success, also tried using the builder to make a query and linked it to the stock table with no success.
I would be grateful for any ideas, I am sure it is relatively simple

New to the forum, and its nice to see how active this place is, and upto date.
My question is, and probably simple to correct. ( Please be patient with me, i`m new to this, and my terminology might be incorrect, also please simple answers )
I`ve searched the forums, but as my teminology is wrong I cant find the results im after :)
Anyway, I have a table with many fields in it, but the parts i`m having problems with are as follows.
I have fields with
Price Inc Vat, Deposit Payment, Stage Payment, Balance Payment & Balance Due.,
The part im trying to get to work is the balance due which I want to automatically update, based in the data inputed into price inc vat deposit payment etc.
The calculation i`m after is as followes
Balance Due = ( Total Ammount Inc Vat - Depost Payment - Stage Payment - Balance Payment )
eg, Total Ammount Inc VAt = £2000
Depost paid is £1000
so far balance due would be £1000
Then Final Payment is made 2 weeks later £1000
So balance due would then show £0.00
Is this possible

Just to let you know, I also need these details kept in the table for future reference so I dont think I can use a query to do it.

I'm suppose to create a list of 20 clients and let 5 accounts be 90 days past due, 5 over 60 days, 5 over 30 days three of each of the accounts have a balance over $75. Then it asks me to create a total of all account balances so that the total amount of recievables can be known. The second part is calculate the number of days each balance has been outstanding.My question is this can you calculate dates in a table or can you only calculate in a query. I'm new at access so have patience with my question(s)

Hi I'm building database for a car shop. One of my table (Cars) has these two fields in it intModelPrice (which stores factory price of a model) and intPriceWithTax (which value should mathematicaly be intModelPrice+[(intModelPrice)*(18/100)]).
Now, can I set my default value of intPriceWithTax to be calculated by this formula and how? I tried some combinations but I got various error messages.
I red Tips section on your site and saw that default value can't be calculated. I know how to get what I want in the select query but I want this table field (intPriceWithTaxt) to be acctualy filled with number value each time I enter a new record in this table (for a new car model). How do I acomplish this? Thanx.
P.S. - I searched the forum for answer but I had no luck.
