Can't Get Query Result To "refresh" In Form Combobox

This should be fairly simple, but it is driving me nuts trying to get it to work right. I feel like I'm chasing my tail.
Anyway, I have a query with three fields: "PersonnelID", "QualificationID", and "QualificationStatus". This is a query off of my large table for tracking qualifications; however, I am using a form with three combo-boxes for the same information. The first two combo-boxes (personnelID and QualificationID) are used to filter the query. This gives the result of one and ONLY one row in the query. A unique personnelID number, a qualificationID number and the qualification status of the record in question. I WANT to be able to automatically retreive the last field (qualificationStatus) from the query and display in the form (and then save in my new table - I know, shouldn't save calculations and such).
I have it working somewhat. I can select the first two combo-box fields and then when I click the third combobox for qualificationstatus, I only have one item in the dropdown menu and then I select it. So far, so good, but this only works for the first record that I am working on. If I do another record without closing the form first, the combobox selection for qualificationstatus still shows the previous entry. However, if I switch the form to design mode and then back to form mode, the combobox shows the correct value. I just can't seem to get the form to refresh prior to selecting the third combobox. I have tried "DoCmd.RepaintObject" after update on the second box and on focus for the the third box, but it still doesn't work unless I switch the views back and forth.
Any suggestions would be ever so gratefully appreciated...

I have a combobox with product description in it. If by mistake, I select a wrong value, then the other values are not refreshed. I have to close the form again and then reopen and reselect the values. What could be the problem? Any help?

I set up several combo boxes to display Tables from msysobjects. The record source is using a WHERE clause to display certain tables both Linked and Local. Occasionally, when clicking the dropdown arrow, the box only displays local tables. This situation seems not to matter whether tables have been newly linked or unlinked. despite having both a me.requery and a me.refresh in the code and/or even clicking the Refresh All button on the ribbon menu, the form does not seem to update the combo box to display both linked and local tables.
In further testing, it seems that it is not a form issue because I took the SQL statement I used as the record source and created a new query with the sql string. The query behaved the same as the combo box, only listing out local tables.
My current work around is to close the database and reopen, then all is well. Hopefully there is another way to get the linked tables listed without this drastic step.
Don't think it's necessary, but here is the sql statement. Type 6 is linked.

I have been using AYS2000 database example from Rogers access library. I have been in the process of modifying to meet my needs. Although I have run into a problem that was prevalent in the original database example. I have attached the original database for your reference.
Problem: At the bottom of the database beside the "New Response" button there are 2 combo boxes that allow you to select the survey and response in which you want to view in the subform. Although when selecting the response the subform does not always update the record in the subform. It would appear that the problem occurs only after a response has been previously selected. I have tried adding additional code to refresh and requery the subform already without any success.

Hi All, I hope someone can help with this, I have 2 tables, 1 main table that holds all my part data ( ie part num, description, etc) and a second table with vendor info. On my Form I have all my fields that display the record. I placed a combo box on my form that I need the user to be able to select a vendor, which is working but I need the form to show the vendors part number in a field. The main table has a manufactures part number, and I have 3 fields that have my 3 vendors part numbers for that part in it. I have the combo box so that it shows the vendor name but how do I get it to look at a certain field for the vendor part number. Im still really new to Access and am clueless any help would be greatly appreciated. I know I have not explained this every well so I am attaching a sample of the DB so you can see that I have Thanks again

I am currently building a main form with a combo box control, two subforms and a hidden text box (optional). There are many different references to be made between tables, queries and forms to get to the result I am after, and I have tried many different codes from other people’s queries that seemed close to mine; however, had no luck getting my subforms to work as I’d like.
The names of my controls/forms/queries are as follows…
Main Form: frm_UReport
Subform 1: sbfrm_Query1 (refers to Query1, which refers to and calculates on tbl_C)
Subform 2: sbfrm_Query2 (refers to Query2, which refers to and calculates on tbl_S)
ComboBox: cmbo_ProductList (refers to tbl_ProductList)
TextBox: txt_ProductCode (refers to cmbo_ProductList, column 0)
I want the two subforms to run their respective queries after a Product Code has been chosen from the ComboBox. The relationship between the tables is one-to-many, from tbl_ProductList to each of tbl_S and tbl_C; with ProductCode as the primary key in tbl_ProductList.
Currently, I can choose a Product Code from the combo box, and it populates the text box successfully, but nothing happens in the subforms.
The codes I have worked with so far are as follows…
sbfrm_Query1 (Record Source):
SELECT Query1.ProductCode, Query1.PurchaseDate, Query1.ExpiryDate…

I have started working on integrating sbfrm_Query1 into the main form first, which is why the code looks different between the two subforms. Once I have it working, I will translate the same format to sbform_Query2.
Due to all the different levels of references that need to be made, I am having trouble identifying which (or if all) of the codes are incorrect.

I have a form that has a check box on it. For some reason the check box is not being checked when an update query is run prior to load. I issued the 'Me.Requery' command after the update query is run (via 'On Load' and 'On Open' in the 'Event' property . . . neither worked) of the form. Is this the correct way to refresh a form after an update query is run ?

I have a form that has a dropbox list and I want the values of the form to change according to the value in the dropbox.For example:
When the dropbox contains the value A,
The form would display x=1, y=2, z=3.
When the dropbox contains the value B,
The form would display x=4, y=5, z=6.
I managed to create a query that opens the QUERY's results according to the value in the dropbox but I can't managed to run the query in the form, return the values according to the query and display them in the form.
I searched the internet and found many options including the Dcount command but I don't think it fits my case..I know I have to write something in the AfterUpdate field of the dropbox but I just can't figure out what it is...

I am working with Access 2010, on vista. What I have is a query made up of two tables, one product the other inventory. (see below) query.jpg
In the product table i have a field called "minimum reorder level". In the inventory table i have two fields one called "number in stock" and "number on order". What i want to happen is "number on order" to be filtered by the result, if the "number in stock", is less than "minimum reorder level", if it is, have the result placed in the "number on order" field. EG. if the "number in stock" = 2 and the "minimum reorder level" = 5 then 3 would be placed in the field "number on order" and only the second record from the query would be visible (see below) Query result.jpg The result of this would mean that the field "number on order" would be populated with the result and the and query would also use this to filter the record.

I want to add a number to my results within a query depending on the month and how many results. For example I have 10 results in my query 3 from January, 5 from March and the rest from April. The 3 from January would be 1,2,3. The five in March would be 1,2,3,4,5 and so on. Is it possible to do?

I am making a booking system where a user enters
StartDate, EndDate (Form Header)
House , Room , UserID (Form Footer)
The Header and footer are not linked. The Footer simply displays all the existing bookings for said ouse/Room/Date combination. (Date being all dates between the StartDate and EndDate) BUT (surprise, surprise)users don't look at this to check if a booking already exists.
Also - It seems pointless to have the users enter the same data (House, Room, UserID) in 6 times (one for each day that they want to book the room.
So I am trying to automate the process.
Therefore, I append each 'new' record (that the users adds in this session) into a temporary table. (House / Room / UserID / StartDate)....note, no end date because I need a separate record for each day.
I have a query that is supposed to check the EXISTING bookings with the temp table.
My code (paraphrased here for simplicty) says
do while StartDate < EndDate
- if Qry_CheckForClash returns 0 records then '(uses a dlookup)
- append from TEMP to BOOKINGS.
- - else
- compile an alert message to the user (appending the Room No and Date each iteration)
- In Qry_CheckForClash, increase the StartDate by +1
- end if
loop
My problem is that after the last step (increase StartDate by +1) the call to Qry_CheckForClash still returns the initial StartDate. But when I check the TEMP table, the StartDate has changed.
So how do I REFRESH or REQUERY a query that is not associated to a form or report?

I have a simple database I am trying to put together. One table, one form, very vanilla. I created a query that ranks values that I enter in a table. I would like to put the result of the query (the rank) next to the value in the form itself. I thought if I created a text box and entered the rank field in the text box, that would be it, but when I run the form, I get "#Name?".
Any thoughts? Is this even possible?

Does anyone know if it's possible to show the results of a query on a form? I have 4 people entering various "outcomes" into a table. There are a possible 8 different outcomes and the one i'm interested in is the "completed" outcome. I would like to be able to show on the form used to enter the data, the total number of "completes" so far.

I have created a search query that allow users to search existed record in database. The query work completely fine, and it gives me the data that I want when I fill in my criteria. However, the query result is not showed in a form, but show in a query window. The form is like that
Company (drop down with a list of company)
Employee (drop down with a list of employee)
Program (drop down with a list of program)
Others (some other fields)
...
Go Query (a button)
How do I pass the query result into a form that I made? So the users can edit and update the record.

i'm a begginer at access, so please excuse me if this question is very basic.
i have a multiple table select query which shows me which user has which piece of a equipment at that given time.
I also have a form that logs any problems the users have with the equipment, what i want that form to do is show the results of the query based on inputting the users name. ie put the serial number and model number into the relevent fileds on the form.
I can get the form to run the query but that just shows it in the query window, i need it to show on the correct feilds on the form.
Hope that makes sense and that somebody can help me.

I would like to allow users create a query and then display the result in a new table. Just like the regular way in Access.
I know how to do it using DAO. However, I am working on a ADP, and want to use ADO for this. I cannot find a solution in ADO. So frustrated!

I have a form that contains 3 text boxes, 1 Combo Box and a Command Button
txtLastName
txtFirstName
txtDOB
cboGender
cmdFind
I want the user to be able to enter at least one of these criteria and
for a form to pop up with a list of individuals that match the criteria
example
user enters Male under cboGender and Young in txtLastName
a Form will pop-up that will give a list of user that match those criteria
LastName, FirstName, DOB and Gender data are stored in tblPatientDemo
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this goal??

I have a Form called Products. Each product is uniquely identified with a primary key called [ProductID].
Products contains a calculated field called [UnitsOnHand]. [UnitsOnHand] gets its values from a subform called ProductTransaction that exists within the Products Form.
ProductTransaction contains a field callled [Received] . At the moment [UnitsOnHand] will add up all the values it finds on the [Received] field to derive the [UnitsOnHand] value for that product at any particular time ie =Sum(nz([Received])) on [UnitsOnHand] .
I also have a Query AutoSell that outputs a value for each [ProductID].
How can I use these values for each [ProductID] generated by the Query to substract from the values on the [UnitsOnHand] calculated field on the Product form.

I have some queries in MS-Access, that I run twice every day.
I store the query result in excel, with specific name and slot-code like HSC_25-Dec-04_S2.xls
( Exmple : High_Score_Customer_25-Dec-04_Slot-2) .
First few letters of the file name is static, but I want to select the Date, Slot_Code from the controls.
I have designed the form, 'CmdExport' is the command-button name, on clicking the button I need to export query result in MS-Excel.
I need help to proceed.

First, I am a beginner with Access. I am a graphics designer that has been assigned to cover for a db programmer that quit!
Here is my problem:
I have a database that we use to hold customer information. There are 22 fields in each record, and we are now well over 3000 records.
Once upon a time, to find a specific customer, we would just go to the bottom of the page, and use the arrow buttons to scroll through them all. This is no longer possible as the size is too big to manually search.
What I would like to do:
Upon Access startup, display a form that has a single input field and a button titled "Search". The input field is titled [UserName], as this field is the unique key identifier for the record. When the user types in the UserName and clicks the SEARCH command button, another form appears to display JUST THAT RECORD in the easy to read form!
If this is really basic, I appologize. I have 20 years experience with commercial illustration and only 7 days experience with Access. I have purchased books, and hit the forums, but I am not a VB programmer, and my skills this area are REAL weak!

I have searched and search and I can't find the answer to this question when I thought it would be simple. Hopefully you can put me out of my misery!
I have a access 2007 split form with a series of search boxes and a query result window. Enter info into one or more of the search boxes, click search and you get the matching results in the query window below. That works fine but I want to work with the results of the query, how can I do this?
I was looking for the user to be able to select a record and then click a command button to open that record in a form. Or in another instance select a record in the result window, have the current from close and have the primary key passed to a another form which I use to open the split form.
I just can't see how to do it but I expect there are several ways. Happy to use VBA but my experience is with Excel VBA so I'm still getting used to the objects.
