Can I Create A Subform For An Existing Form

Apr 3, 2014I'm having a bit of a problem with a database I'm trying to create, what I am trying to do is create a database to handle jobs in an IT workshop. The idea is that you generate the job card and then at the bottom you have a section to enter in the parts that are required for the job, and then have a report that prints out a list of all the parts required for all the jobs under a heading of the job card number.
The problem I am having is how to add this sub form / table to the job card sheet. I tried putting in a sub table, but that wont let me make additions to it, and I tried putting on a form but that wont retain more than one entry per job card (I have put it on continuous form).
Forms :: Existing Data In Field Of Subform Also Filtered By Combo Box On Main Form
Mar 7, 2014I have a form with subform (datasheet) .
On my subform i have one field which shows the
productId ( which is filtered from combo boxes on main form) .
productId contains two columns
1 bound column(id) ( hidden with width 0 )
2 column (desription) ( shown with width 2 )
Now after entering the data when i come back to the form again . It hides the data from the productId field on subform , because data in combo box (on main form) doesn't match. Although the row is showing up , only the text in field (productId) is hidden.
Now when i change data in combo box on main form to match the ProductId , then the productId field text shows again. after changing combo box it hides . What i need is the existing data should not hide when i change the combo box selection.
see pic 1 where product matches and pic 2 where not. please note i am using master child relationship on the form/subform.

Jan 12, 2015I'm trying to create a report that contains data from a "main" form and a subform. However, I can't get the main form data to populate no matter what I try. I've been through all sorts of queries and just can't get it to work. The main form and subform are both separate tables, and there are no redundant fields.
Basically, the main form is an inventory of assets, and the subform is designed as a way to submit trouble tickets when one of those assets requires maintenance or repair.

Apr 2, 2013I have a form (frmAddManifest) with a subform (subfrmManifestTransporters).
When creating a new record, I can enter data into frmAddManifest, but the subform doesn't update to link with the record - I presume it's because the record from the main form hasn't been completed yet.
Is there a way to requery the form and/or subform so it stays on the record I was working on, and link the subform properly?

Jan 8, 2015I'm successful in adding data from the form to the table using VBA. But I couldn't retrieve and edit the data. For retrieving and editing the data I have a different form "[Forms]![Editor]". I have all the fields listed in the image in both the form and table.
1. I want to allow the user to search and retrieve a specific row based on the condition Incident ID and the Package code are same
2. I want the user to edit the fields in the form and update it in the same row again.

May 13, 2014I am trying to create a form to enter data in a table. I would like to make it pull in info from a switchboard. If the record already exists I would like it to find it and allow me to edit the info. If the record doesn't exist I would like to be able to add a new record with the data input. I cant get my head around this one,
I have a Form that enters all details for an Order.
On that form is a Tick Box that says Repeatable.
If that box is ticked in the future I am able to repeat on that stock item.
I have created a form with a List boxea that Lists all Suppliers Stock that is Repeatable
I want to be able to double click a Stock Item from that list, then let it populate another Order ( Unique Key ), fill in all the field from the previous order, so all I have to do is enter the Quantity I want to re-order.
How do I do this?

there is a field in my form named "numphotos" and I write the number of photos than that folder contains.
I have a subform in that main form named "descriptions", here I describe, one for one, all photos of that folder.
Itsnīt a problem if the folder contains a few photos, but I have folders that have even 100 photos :confused: then I must to create 100 records in my subform :eek:
I would like than Access create those records automatically according to the number of photos that I indicate at the field numphotos.

I only would desire that Access create that many lines to me as I have written on "numphotos". I would write the rest of the information (photographer and description)

I am trying to write a training register DB for my department basically:
There are three tables: trainees, training sessions, and trainees on courses.
The training sessions will be mapped out in advance: so that's easy we will plug in the training dates when necessary.
the tricky bit is the booking form for trainees. I'd like a form/subform where the trianing session info is at the top and the subform lists trainess for that day.
Now here's the rub. we may not have the trainee's name in our database already so I created a combo box with the all the known trainees. This way if they exist their details pop up and we have a new "trainee on course" record for them.
So what I need is a macro or some code that will check whether they exist and if not create a new traineee record and then allow us to fill out the booking form. Perhaps I'm rusty and not thinking this through properly.
I'[ve attactched the db in case anyone needs a visual. I'd be grateful for any suggestions

Mar 19, 2014I'm having difficulty updating an existing record in my form. I can enter a docket number on my form and when i hit my button (Find Docket) it brings up all the customers info (name, date, invoice, vat, total, etc.) What i want to do then is be able to amend/update the record. Just wondering do i need to put vba code in my save button and how to code it and is it similar to my find data code below.

May 1, 2015Each month I receive a new excel spreadsheet (alpha Roster), Last month I created a form so that I can track certain things off of the Table (spreadsheet), I just received the new Spreadsheet for this month and was wondering if I can use the existing form and how hard it is to link it to the new spreadsheet? Is that even possible? I don't want to have to re create the form every month, I would like to just bring the new alpha roster in and be ready to work.

Append Data From New Record In Existing Form

But when I open the query with the link to the form that is open I cannot see the added record until it's saved to the open form. I tried to re-query the key ID field but that does not work. How do I do a re-query without the form requiring everything and then I am on the incorrect record?
