Can You Make Just One Part Of The Text In A Text Box Bold Or A Different Font Size?
Aug 20, 2004
Is there a way to make just part of the text in a text box bold, or to use different font sizes in the same text box?
Something like this:
---------------------------------
Heading in bold: description in regular (not bold)
(a smaller height line used as a line space)
Another "normal" line
a larger height line
a normal line....all in one text box!
---------------------------------
One thing I'd like to be able to do is to specify the line height of a blank line in a text box. I'm using carriage returns created with: Chr(13) & Chr(10). I could see defining the font size of a hidden character, but I'd need to know how to assign a font size to a piece of the text in a font box.
Not sure if this is possible but here goes (even if I make a fool of myself for asking).
I have a report that lists data based on criteria set in a form. The main criteria is Month (Month4Report) and Year (Year4Report).
The report lists all jobs that started that month and also any jobs that had work done during that month - even if they started in the previous month.
What I would like to do is highlight any job that has an actual start date prior to the current searched month (Month4Report). By making it bold or other way.
Is there a way to make only part of the text in Default Value to be Bold or Italics? That would be cool so I dont half to make boxes throughout my paragraph for only bold text!
I am using MS Access 2007 and have a report which display the list of values (say 10 fields) from the basic SELECT * FROM table query.
I need to dynamically set the BOLD based on the particular value for the fifth field which was assigned from Query. if it doesn't match it should display normal.
E.g If Field_5 = "Agent" then Field_5.FontBold = True Else Field_5.FontBold = False End if
I tried the aforementioned code and it dont work. ALso i tried achieve it using below listed options.
I have a report that prints labels (similar to avery labels) which pulls data from a query. These labels are all unique and vary in length. Due to the length variance, I want the font size to get smaller for labels with more characters. I want the text to go down to another line when necessary.
In my report under the OnPage Event Procedure I wrote this:
Private Sub Report_Page() If Len(Text2) > 20 Then Text2.FontSize = 8 If Len(Text2) > 10 And Len(Text2) < 21 Then Text2.FontSize = 10 If Len(Text2) < 11 Then Text2.FontSize = 14 End Sub
This works to some degree but the problem is that once there is a longer label, all of the proceeding labels are resized & the longer label that should have been resized was not.
Is there another place I should be writing this code? I looked under events for the textbox but there doesn't seem to be anything that would work since none of them would trigger when printing labels
When a command button is onfocus, how do I make it bold or a different color and when it's not onfocus to return to it's default format? I know that this is possible with text boxes but I don't know how to do it with command buttons. Please help. Thank you!
I have created an automated e-mail quote for a client database. I have created several strings that make up the body text for the e-mail (some with info drawn from the database fields). Is it possible to have certain strings underlined and bold face? How would I go about that?
We have a navigation page with 5 tabs and several navigation buttons underneath their respective tabs linking to reports.
In the main part of the navigation page we have 17 search parameters (text boxes and combo boxes)that the user can use to sort through all the reports we have in the different tabs.
What we would like to do is to have the label text to change to "red" if one of the 17 fields are "required", remain "black" if it is included in the report but not a mandatory search parameter, or turn "light grey" if that parameter is not included in that report.
For example:
My search parameters are: people, phone, and cars
If I were looking at a report of people that included addresses, phones, etc...name and phone would be required search parameters. However, even though I can search by car, it is not in this particular report and the label text should be greyed out. (If the actual text box could go inactive that would be even better).
I have read about buttons being turned colors based on a drop down box choice, but I have not been able to find anything about using a navigation tab subform button to make the colors change in the main navigation form.
I've got a form with numerous controls and labels. When i first open the form, all looks fine - all labels are Black Arial 8 Bold. But when i start scrolling through the records, the text on three of my text labels gets bolder. I haven't a clue what is causing this - the labels are just standard - two are associated with controls and one is all on its own.
I have no code written to do this, and in fact i'm not sure you could write code to do this. I've tried renaming the labels, changing the font, deleting and recreating them, but it's always the same three that get darker.
Is it possible to use two color fonts on one label? I want to bring attention to the user that by clicking a certain button they can perform a search by "Name" and by clicking on the other button, they can perform a search by "Appointment".
I have a switchboard type form with some buttons. The two buttons in question are labeled, "Search for Appts by Name" and "Search for Appts by Appointment". I want to keep the "Search for" section of the button in black font, but change the "by Appointment" and "by Name" to red font.
My name is Amanda, and recently I’ve started using Access again for work. I haven’t touched the program in about five years, so I am rusty. In addition, it turns out that I am the only one in my department who’s ever even opened Access. I’ve tried hunting down a manual around here, and it seems to be an ever ending scavenger hunt. I also have not been able to find the answer to my question via web, FAQ, and experimentation, although, I feel it’s a fairly basic question.
So here it goes. I want to return all fields that contain part of a text. For example, I want all fields that contain the word “lux”, regardless of what else the field contains to be returned. So if a field contains “lux. cars” it will be returned in my query.
I’ve tried goggling “Microsoft Access” with “text formulas,” however, all I receive are excel formulas.
I have a table with a field named SSN. This field contains data with the following format:
123-45-6789L
As you can see my field has a text format and I need to create a make table query that will extract all the character that are places in position 12 and 13 (simply the letters after the ssn).
I have tried with Mid([SSN],12,13) but nothing happens.
I would like the remaining part of my text control to show stars e.g control value is 12 it shows *************12 control value is 3567890 it shows *********3567890
My text control does not have a fixed width, this is set in code depending on various factors Thanks
I'm working on a table which has a country field, but this field may contain a text string consisting of more than one country, eg "France, Belgium, Spain"
I want to run a query against the table to select records for any one country, but not sure how to do this.
Each each record in table1 has a unique four character (alpha-numeric) code to identify it. The first two numbers of this code represent the group it is in. (Ie. 15AB and 1502 are both grouped together) The second table stores values that apply to the entire group. I need to create a relationship between these two tables based on the first two characters in the ID field.
Things I've tried: * Making a calculated field with left$() formula - Access doesn't allow relationships on calculated fields * Create a new field for just the first two characters and create a data macro for after update and after insert to update that field with the expression - cannot edit the field the user is on
I'm running MS Access 2003. My SQL editing window has a really small font size. How do I change this window's default font size? Is it in tools or options?
Help!!!!!!! I'm going blind!!!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being willing to help out!!
MS documentation states that space is not reserved for unused characters in a text field. Does this mean that there is no storage penaly for having a text field 255 as opposed to 80.
On a more general note are there any tools to help calculate the size of a table?
Is there a way to make the text in a label smaller than size 8? I need to put some text on a form, but it's too large for the limited amount of space I have.
