Cascading Boxes Won't Work When In Subform Within Another Subform?

I have a problem with cascading combo box not working.

I have a one form and with two subforms

One form is "frmReviews" with a subform called "frmbyReviewer" Link Master Fields = Name and Link Child Fields = Reviewer_Name

Then we have the "frmbyReviewer" with a subform called "frmsubMain" where it's Source Object is another form called "frmMain" and linked by Loan_Number

Cascading Combo Boxes In Subform - Need Help

I have cascading combo boxes in a subform. When I click the second box, which is dependent on the first, I get the following error:

"Object does not support this property or method"

This is what I have for the On Enter Event:

Me!LeadIn.Updated Form!LeadIn.Requery

I originally had : Me.LeadIn.Requery for the On Enter, but it prompted a parameter box looking for the Phone_Card form.

I think I have to adjust the OnEnter even syntax, but I cannot figure it out.

Here are the names of the forms:
Main Form: Updated Form
SubForm: Phone_Card

Control Names:

Combo Box 1: Brand
Combo Box 2: LeadIn

In doing a net search, I believe it should look something like this:

Me!Leadin.Form!leadin.requery ??

I should also add that the subform is in a tab control: TabCtl197 if that matters. Also, when I use the combo boxes while having the Phone_Card form open, they work fine. It is only when using it as a subform that it no longer works.

i have a main form which allows me to fill in Order Information within which is a subform which allows me to fill in Order Lines.My Order Lines contain the following fields:

Extrusion
Length
Qty
etc. etc.

Elswhere in my database (tblLengths) I have set up a list of possible lengths for each Extrusion and therefore when an order is filled out I want the user to be restricted only to those lengths that are possible with the particular extrusion they have chosen. This list contains the ExtrusionID and LengthID so that I can query the available lengths for a particular Extrusion.Within my subform I have set the record source to point at the tblLengths and criteria on the ExtrusionID to point to [Extrusion]. I've also put a requery against the Extrusion field so that I can force the combobox to refresh its list of results.

My problem is that I am getting unexpected results each time I add an Order line into my form and reading up I see that what I am trying to do is a big no-no.

I have a cascading combo box working fabulously in a form. However when I embed that form into another form, the cascading combo boxes quit working. After doing some searching around on the web I think my issue is either in the query that the dependent combo box references and/or in the "after update event procedure" but I just can't seem to figure out the exact changes to make to my database. Details:

Tables with data for combo boxes:LOOKUP TABLE - Veg Species - Species Type,
LOOKUP TABLE - Veg Species - Species Name.
Related together based on common field: SpeciesType

When the form with the combo boxes is embedded as above, I can select the species type from the dropdown but when I try to select the species common name value I am asked to

"enter parameter value - Forms!SUBFORM2a - Enter Specific Veg Info!cmbSpecies_Type".

Cascading Combos Not Working When In A Subform

Heya

Ive got my combos working fine now (thanks to all you kind folk on this forum!) but now that I have opened the main form (in which the combo box form is nested), once I have selected an item in the first one, and then click on the 2nd combo, a parameter box comes up saying "Forms!Training Record!Course_title_combo" and wants a value.

I cant see why this doesnt work when the form is nested, any ideas?

Cascading Combos With Subform Problem

Hello to all !
I have this db where i wantto include 4 and if possible 5 cascading combos where the user can select records from a table and view them in a subform which is in datasheet view.
All is going well until i try to add the 4th combo.Then when i select the 4th combos selection the subform displays nothing.
If someone could point me to the right direction i would be most thankful.

I have a subform that I use on two parent forms. The subform has a cascading combo box. The LocationID field gets filtered after CompanyID (named: cboCompanies) is updated. The problem is that I can only get the combo box to work on one form (Contacts_All). When I open the second form (Contacts_Clients), it asks for the Parameter Value.I am entering this into the criteria for the LocationID field:

[Forms]![Contacts_All]![SUBFRMContactsCompanies]![cboCompanies] Or [Forms]![Contacts_Clients]![SUBFRMContactsCompanies]![cboCompanies]

So, the "Or" is not working.Do I need to make a separate subform for each parent form or is there some way to get this working? I already feel as if I am managing way too many forms and need to simplify.

Forms :: Macro Does Not Work In A Subform

I have a sub form that contains two fields of FabricNum(ComboBox) and RollNum(ComboBox). The RollNum is restricted to the FabricNum so whenever I choose a FabricNum, list of RollNum changes respectively.

In order to do that, I created a query that contains the FabricNum and RollNum. The FabricNum in the query is restricted to the chosen FabricNum in the subform. I also have an embedded macro on FabricNum which opens the query, close the query and requery based on RollNumber. All what I have explained work perfect once it gets done in a sub form. When I try to do the same thing in a Main form, it does give me an error.

After researches I realized that I have to change the path in a query and I changed it as following:

[Forms]![FabricUsageDetail1].[FabricUsageDetail2].[Form].[FabricNum].

Unfortunately, I still get an error of 2950 which says the command or action "Requery" is not available now.

I have created a simple database, with 2 x tables. The first is a 'Week Ending' table, with a dateid key and Week Ending field. I have created several week-ending dates in order for a user to input details of work done the previous week. The second table contains the details of the work.

I have a one to many relationship between the dateid in the first table, and a dateid of the work details table.

I created a query based on the work details table, and created a subform from that. In a main form I linked a combo box to allow a user to select a date and the relevant work details appear in the subform. However the Week Ending field only shows one date, not a list of the dates I created.

Check Boxes On A Subform

Good Day Everyone :)

I appologize that this may be a very remedial question, and that many previous threads pertained to the general topic of check boxes, but as I am new to the world of access, I did not find any threads which i could apply to my following question.
I would greatly appreciate any help and guidance :)

What I am trying to accomplish is to set up a subform in which each record is linked to a check box. The check box would be used to select unique records for an upcomming search.
My problem: the check box which i have added to the subform (from the toolbox) is linked to all of the records. That is to say that when I check one box it checks all of the all boxes as well. :eek:

Is there any SQL language which i should be applying here?

Suggestions are much appreciated :)

List Boxes With Subform

I am having the same problem as some others.
I have 2 cascade combo boxes
When I select CD Group and CD NAme they display the related values in a list box that's fine.

ex. CD Group Mormon Tabernacle Chior
CD Name displays cdnames with that Group.
NOW After I click cdnames I want it to go to that record on the subform which is cdtracks so it only displays cdtracks with that record.

The other problem is this might have to be straightened out is when I select a cdgroup and or cdname value it displays that value for all the records.

Linking Two Combo-boxes Within A Subform

I'm creating a database to assist with the sales operations of a hat shop. I have a form for creating new orders called 'Invoice' where the order number and date is set.
Within this form is a subform called 'Invoice_Order' (Continuous layout), this form is used for assigning order items to an order number.
Within the subform there are two combo boxes which search the Stock table.

1st ComboBox- diplays hat styles (E.g- v1/v2/v3/v4...)

Problem is; different hat styles are available in different colours based on the material used. I would like the second CoboBox to display a list of colours depending on the style of hat chosen.
At present i can only get it to display a list of colours for all hat styles.

Does that make sense?
Any help would be most appreciated

Various Combo Boxes Within Continuous Subform?

I have various comboboxes within a continious subform where you select a main field, and then it should let you only select the relent fields below it.

Example:

1.Main Product (HS_level1): Live animals

2.Sub Product (HS_level2): Live sheep and goats

3.Product (HS_level3): Sheep, live

...other fields on amounts, etc.

Adding the first product to the list is easy. Query I use:

Private Sub HS_level1ID_AfterUpdate()
'make next HS levels empty and requery the list of products
Me.HS_level2ID = Null
Me.HS_level2ID.Requery
'the query that is been run selects only HS_level2 that are linked with HS_level1

But when I add the second product to the CONTINUOUS form, all hell breaks loose and the previous record's values also gets reset.

How can I ensure that VBA only runs for the selected record?

to clear all text boxes on a Main Form.When I try the same code in the Form Load of the sub form - it says I can't assign a value to this object.I just want the Main Form and Sub Form textboxes to be empty when they both Load up.There is a selection combo box that will populate the main form and the sub form [Master-Detail] once a selection is made.Right now the main form has all empty textboxes but the subform datasheet is showing detail irrelevant records belonging to another master record and I want no data till a cmb box selection is made.

Write Conflict In Subform Text Boxes

If, on the startup form of the attached mdb, you type anything in any of the text boxes of the FPersonale subform(which, in form view, is labeled "Shift schedule") you get a message titled "Write Conflict" saying that during the current session the record had been modified by another user, asking to choose between saving the record, copying the edits to the clipboard or discarding the edits.
I've tried to get rid of the message by putting Me.Requery at the end of the text boxes' AfterUpdate event code but the message still pops up.

I have set up a database to record several different sets of records for a volunteer group that I run. The types of records that I am keeping are hours on duty, uniform issued and attendance at training. The attendance form is a subform which contains a list of dates and the two fields of checkboxes showing if they attended or sent their aplogises.

What I am trying to do is to count the number of times that members attended training. I have set up a 'unbounded' text box in the footer and would just like to add a formula in to the command box of the box properties. Anything more i.e. coding then it goes over my head very quickly.

I need to make a form that lists 120 checkboxes and then adds an associated value to get a total.I have a table with Description field (i.e. aspirin) and a Points field (i.e.2). I need to make a subform that shows 120 checkboxes and when the user checks the boxes the associated points are totaled.

I have tried using a default value for each checkbox which works except I can't get the subform to add a new record when I move to the next mainform record.how to make a form where I can see all 120 items and give the use a choice to check 1 or all of them and get a total?

Combo Boxes Filtering A Subform - How To Get Them To Filter Each Other

I thought I was in the home stretch of my project, everything worked great when I was messing with 200 records. Now that I'm messing with 2000+ records, things are very slow. So a search form redesign!

I have a form (frmSearch) that has a subform (frmSubSearch) embedded in it. The frmSubSearch is a datasheet only that is just pulling its info from a query (qrySearch). qrySearch has about 8 columns of data in it.

On the main form I have a combo box that is feeding its list from the qrySearch using a SELECT DISTINCT statement. So a user selects an item in the combo box and my After_Update fires. This sets a filter on frmSubSearch. I have three of these combo boxes that can add to the filter and they work great so far.

But I want to have the combo boxes filter themselves based on whats left on frmSubSearch. So if a user selects something in the 2nd combo box, the sub form filters and updates, but then I want the other two combo boxes to only have valid selections, and not something selectable that would wind up giving me a blank sub form result.

I have tried using .Requery in various ways, but its not working. I have also been looking into the idea of Cascading Comboboxes, but these don't seem to quite fit what I'm trying to do.

Selecting Records In A Subform Based On Several Combo Boxes

Here is an example of what I am trying to do:

I have a main form which has 4 combo boxes all based on tblPeople.
Combo0 is skill
Combo1 is discipline
Combo2 is crart
Comb03 is active

The sub form is a datatable list of the tblpeople.

How do I apply the filter to the datatable. I am assuming I need to build a sql statement somewhere like SELECT from tlpeople WHERE me!combo0 = [tblpeople].[skill] and me!Combo1=[tblpeople].[discipline] etc

Is there a sample database? or can somebody tell me how to go about this.

We're looking at a way that we can easily display what stage our clients' email marketing campaigns are at - in one section of our CRM our Campaign Manager will enter information on whether the campaign has broadcast (ie: emailed out to the required circulation list(s)), if we're waiting for artwork from the client or if we're chasing for that information.

I have four text boxes (date format) hidden on a subform that I need to pull ONE max date from.

So, as an example:

Email1 (our first email to the client chasing for artwork) = 01/01/2015
Email2 (our second email to the client chasing artwork) = 08/01/2015
Email3 (our third chase email) = 15/01/2015
Broadcast (the date the email campaign was finally sent) = 29/01/2015

I would need some code to show in an unbound textbox "Broadcast: 29/01/2015"

But, on the other hand, if the dates looked like this:

Email1 = 01/01/2015
Email2 = 08/01/2015
Email3 = Null
Broadcast = Null

I would need some code to show the following in an unbound textbox "Last Chased: 08/01/2015"

So we can easily see the status of our marketing campaigns at any stage in the process.

I've tried using IF THEN ELSE statements in the subform's On Current event, but that populates the information from the record you've selected across all the other records on the sub as well.

So I'm wondering if it's worth setting the Control Source of the unbound textbox I want to display the campaign status in as a bunch of nested IIF statements instead?

I'm having issues with this one.

Table name is CompDates
Subform is ViewByMarket

Start date is Text13 and End Date is Text15.

I want it to filter out any matches between the 7 fields. Here is my code:

I have 7 multi-select list boxes, which I want the user to be able to select multiple items and have it filter a subform by what is selected. The subform will not be visible.

Here is the code I tried for filtering my subform (which is throwing an error when I call it).

Private Function MasterSearch()

Dim WhereClause As String
StrgSQL = "SELECT * FROM MasterTbl"

The above code was to test just 1 of the 7 listboxes. When I call it on click for the command button, it throws an error about the "Call MasterSearch".
