Challenging Question!!!

Jan 8, 2006

I would like to know if there is a way to use an LDB Viewer to record the computer name that logged into a certain access database in 2002 format. I do not want to create a separate form for them to log in but rather just record the computer name that logged in. There are several examples out there which let you see who is logged in by their network identification (computer name). If someone could direct me where to look at this, that would be the greatest thing in the world. Or maybe a login form that would not allow you to bypass it by holding down shift and pressing enter.

Sincerely,

Rainman

A Challenging One For You...

Aug 18, 2004

I have an interesting question. In my form the user can remove a field (column). When they do so, I would like all of the fields to the right to use the new space. Is there code which tells fields to left align?

Challenging Problem?!

Jul 3, 2006

Hello all,

I have a bit of a challenging issue here.

I need to invoice a lot of my customers. I have the invoices in a .html file (I can create the file name to be setup as required), and I need to have these emailed to my clients. As I send these emails once a month (on the same day), I need to run a routine to do this automatically in one go.

Is this possible using a form with a button to run a macro of some description?

For example; --> lookup client number --->lookup .html file called client number + month + year ----> open outlook ----> attach file ----> auto enter email address -----> send ----> update database to say sent -----> repeat until end.

Any suggestions would be most welcomed.

Thanks.

Challenging Access Problem

May 22, 2006

I posted this in Queries earlier... thought I would try here as well.

The scenario - I use MS Access to access an advantage database system from a program we use. I can either import or link to each table in the program's database via OBDC drivers.

The problem - I need to track the status changes of our customers. Tracking customer status changes are not recorded in the advantage db. The TRDATA table contains the information. From now on, I want my access db to track the changes and save it in access for report purposes. The status's available are A, B, I, K, L, O, P, W, X and Y.

The solution - So far, I have queried the TRDATA table to pull the Account #, Buyer, and status. I made a crosstab query which would kind of aggregate the data into a readable form. If the account is active, there would now be a 1 in the column A. I then made another query which would then update a table. From here, I'm unsure of what to do. Obviously, there needs to be a comparison of some sort. If only account 1234 changes from an A to a Y, then I want a new table to show all the other accounts where they stand and a change of Y for the status with the date it changed. I hope I'm explaining myself well enough!! I’m very unsure of where to go from here.

Challenging Query....please Help, Boss Is Counting On Me

Aug 16, 2007

The boss believes I can help him with access, im not too sure, i dont really even know access. There is a table with fields for each month of the year for 3 years

Jan 06 Feb 06 .......Dec 06....Dec 07....Dece08

Can i have a query that prompts the user to enter the month, and then returns that month plus the next 12 months in order......its for a man hour labor schedule.....its a 13 month rolling calender. I appreciate all the help I can get, im an engineer, not a database expert. It should be mentioned that I have no experience in VBA etc, just using the query design view.

Lets just assume that the table is called "RollingCalender"

THANKS IN ADVANCE! :-)
