Changing The Color Of A Text Box

Dec 21, 2004

This is very close to the label question that I also have posted. I am trying to get my report to have the back ground of some text boxes turn yellow if they are populated. I can get them to turn yellow, but they turn yellow whether they are populated or not. I have the code in the Report Open event. Here is some of the code that I have.

If Not IsNull(MMSJob) Then
MMSJob.BackColor = 65535
Else
MMSJob.BackColor = vbWhite
End If

Can anyone help me?

Changing Color On Multiple Text Boxes

Jan 18, 2005

I have about 25 text boxes on my form that use the dcount or count functions to obtain a number. (Text boxes are labeled 'Text1' through 'Text25')
When the value of the textbox is 0, I would like to have the color of the text box turn red.

Is there a way I can do this using a for loop? Or a with statement?

Checking each one individually just seems like poor programming.
Any thoughts? Ideas?
Thank you.

Forms :: Changing Text Box To Allow Fixed Data Input Options - Access 2010

Jun 17, 2014

I have created a member data base form in Access2010.

That has been populated with 366 member records

I have two text box fields that are currently free type fields, Member Type & Member Status.

What is the best way I can change these to show only the relevant options:

i.e. Member Type ( Full, Family, Pensioner, Life. )
Member status ( Current, Lapsed, Deceased)

I have tried to right click the field but the "change to" option is greyed out & not available.

I have also tried to insert a combo box or list box to show these options. The "use control wizard" option has been highlighted but when I drag either a combo box or list box into the form. the wizard does not activate.

Forms :: Conditional Formatting Changing Field Color Based On Hours Passed

Jan 7, 2015

I'm having a spot of trouble trying to get conditional formatting to work. I have an overview form which displays current quotes going through the system, the QuoteStartTime field is generated from the Now() command.I Would like if possible to show, 1 hour = Green, 2 hours = Amber and 3+ hours Red.

I've tried variations of
hour([QuoteStart])>1
DateAdd("h",1,[QuoteStartTime])

I've done this before with a date only field before, but working with time is taking too much time.

Stop Access From Changing Format / Value Of Data Entered From A Form Into A Table

Oct 7, 2012

I have a database (split into front and backend). Users populate the table using a form on the front end. Recently, it has been pointed out that some of the data entered into one specific textbox is being changed on the table. The data entered is always has a minimum of a letter and number value i.e. "A1", "A2" etc. Upon examining the table, this has changed into numeric values i.e. "1291", "1061", "852"... etc. Looks like it is translating them into both 3 and 4 digit numerical values by the looks of things. Where more complex data is entered such as "2(A1, A2)" these seem unaffected.

The field is set to text, I have set no validation rule, format or input mask. Just can't see why access is changing these values. It seems to be translating them, but I can't see a pattern.

Changing Computed Field In Access 2010 Pivot Table

Jul 28, 2014

So... I have the pivot table with the following columns...

Sum of Numerator, Sum of Denominator, and a computed field for Rate

My Rate calculation is: iif(Denominator = 0, Null, Numerator/Denominator)...

I have at least 15 of these rates (numerator, denominator, rate) on the same report..it works fine, but my business analyst has clarified the Rate requirement that if the denominator is 0 then the Rate should display 0 (instead of Null)..

When I change my Rate computed field to iif(Denominator = 0, 0, Numerator/Denominator) and press the "Change" button all the numerators and denominators on the pivot table are blanked out... I've refreshed the pivot table and everything; but, I can't stop this from happening. why the heck can't Access' pivot table be as robust as Excel's ???

Forms :: Color Text Field Based On Value Of Combo Box

Feb 28, 2015

I have a table named ColorValues with the following three fields:

- ID
- MunsellCode
- RGBValue

30 fields from another table called Color_Analysis are linked to the above with one to many relationships (I've already thought of other ways to normalize data, but this is the most efficient, so no need to go into this topic).

Now, I've constructed a form for Color_Analysis and all 30 fields recording color are included as combo boxes bounded on the ID in ColorValues and displaying the MunsellCode for the user. I've also created unbounded text fields next to the combo boxes and want to use them to display the color that the user selected in the ComboBox. The question is how do I do this?

Essentially I need a piece of code that picks up the value of the combo box (this is essentially the ID in ColorValues), looks up that value in the ID column of the ColorValues table and uses the corresponding RGBValue of the same table as the .BackColor for the unbounded text field.

Aug 14, 2013

I'm using Access 2010. I'm passing a string into the OpenArgs of my report - works fine. In the report there are 3 rich text fields which may contain the text I passed in, and if so I want to change the color of that text to red so it stands out.

The value passed to the report changes so I'll need to use VBA in the detail's format section to check each of the 3 rich text fields.

Tables :: Table Rich Text Column Color

Sep 27, 2014

how I can set a color on table column formatted as rich text and memo. For instance this table has 4 different columns of remarks, one from each engineering operating center. Remarks_1, Remarks_2, Remarks_3 and Remarks_4. Each one of the 4 operating centers enters the remarks in one of these fields. On the Dashboard report, what I do is I get all these 4 fields and merge in 1 because the report is already narrow due to several other columns as well. So there is a report combining all data : =Remarks_1& " -"&Remarks_2&" - "&Remarks_3&" - "&Remarks_4 under Remarks.

The point is that the Dashboard has colorcode, Orange for Remarks_1, Red for Remarks_2, Blue for Remarks_3 and Green for Remarks_4. All these fields are memo on rich text format. On the form I have set the color of each field, however the color doesn't get set on the table as well, but only on the form fields. How can I set a defined color to each field on the table? And also when I get all data in one column, I would see all different colors.

Changing Backround Color

Apr 18, 2006

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to make the backround color of a text box "prova" (short date value) changing according to the values of other two different text boxes "StartDate" and "EndDate" (both are short date values).
I'd like the backround of prova to be blue if its value is between StartDate value and EndDate value.
So in the code builder I made this function:

Private Sub prova_AfterUpdate()

If Me.prova.Value > Me.StartDate.Value & Me.prova.Value < Me.EndDate.Value Then

Me.[prova].BackColor = vbBlue

Else
Me.[prova].BackColor = vbWhite
End If

End Sub

Is that correct?
Thank a slot for your help :confused:

Changing Color In IIf Statement?

Feb 1, 2007

I have this expression:

=IIf([Text131] Between 16 And 30,"Unacceptable",IIf([Text131] Between 31 And 42,"Marginal",IIf([Text131] Between 43 And 56,"Effective",IIf([Text131] Between 57 And 71,"Very Good",IIf([Text131] Between 72 And 80,"Outstanding","")))))

It works just fine, but I was wondering if there'd be a way to change the text color of the <<true>> statement based on what it is? i.e. "Outstanding" and "Very Good" would be green, "Effective" could be yellow, "Marginal could be brown and "Unacceptable" could be red. How would I implement that into this expression, if that's even possible? Thanx for your assistance!

Changing The Color Of An Image In A Form

Jun 9, 2005

I have a form which uses a query for entry to the table. One of the fields in the query is a calculated field which shows in the form. The calculated field returns a number from 1 to 5. Rather than showing this number I would like to show a round stoplight that changes color for each number. I have inserted a OLE object OLEunbound235 into the form. The colors I want to use are
icolor = RGB(255, 204, 0) 'Gold
icolor = RGB(192, 192, 192) 'Silver
icolor = RGB(216, 129, 0) 'Bronze
icolor = RGB(255, 255, 0) 'Yellow
icolor = RGB(255, 0, 0) 'Red
and icolor = RGB(255, 255, 255) 'White for any other value.

The text box that returns the calculated number is labeled Text1 and I have hidden this box so it can not be seen. Does anyone know how to write this code that would change the OLE object color automatically so when the user enters data into the form and the return number changes the color of the OLE object changes. I know very little about VBA and I am not sure where to begin or where to even write the code.

:confused:

Checkbox Changing Label Color

May 30, 2006

How can I indicate with a color change in the label, that a checkbox is checked? I've got it working ...sort of. but when the change occurs it's happening gobally - I want the label to color to apply only to the record I'm viewing. If the check box is checked then the color should be red, otherwise black.

My code is as follows:
Active_Admission.Value = -1 Then

Label1177.ForeColor = vbRed

ElseIf Active_Admission.Value = 0 Then

Labe1177.ForeColor = vbBlack

Exit_Sub_Active_Admission_click:
Exit Sub

End If

End Sub

Also, the condition only works with -1 and 0 - I've read in other places that the condition is 1 and 0. HELP!
