Changing A Field In The Table And The Form Not Opening

I have made a table and quered that table. I have a form that I designed and is working well. It updates the table like it is supposed to. The problem I have is when I go in and change the master table. I decided that instead of havinga field titled "Unlisted/Listed" I just made it Listed and you put a yes or no. But when I do that and go back to the form a box pops up asking for some value. How do I fix this? Thank you.
I am creating a database where I will select recipes from one table and then create a shopping list through related ingredients from another table. I want to be able to clear all selected recipes before I start a new class.
For example, I have 100 recipes and am using 10 this week, but next week i am using a different 10. To create a new grocery list I want to clear all of this week's selected recipes before selecting the new bunch of recipes.
Is there a way (I am assuming a macro would be used) to insert a command button that would change all y/n values of the recipes table to no?
In Access 2002, I have a Phone Number field (Text) that is meant to store (obviously enough) phone numbers. However, when I enter 2009 as the last four digits (ex. (555)-555-2009) the number is changed to (555)-555-2010. This also occurs if I enter the number directly into the table (which doesn't have an input mask). I have tested it in a new form (even without input mask), and a new table, which both result in the exact same thing.
I have a property form for keeping track of houses and buildings owned and then on that form i have a policy field for the policy number of the insurance called txtPolicy. Next to that field I have a little button which opens a form so it will show all the insurance policies associated with the housing group which the property is in. When i select the appropriate policy and double click it in the listbox I want it to close the form and set the value of the txtPolicy to the one just selected in the listbox. I know how to get the value of the item selected in the listbox but I just don't know how to set the value of a field on another form...
I am trying to change the data type of a field in a table from calculated to something else. It gives me the error "this data type cannot be changed once the field has been saved"
So... I have the pivot table with the following columns...
Sum of Numerator, Sum of Denominator, and a computed field for Rate
My Rate calculation is: iif(Denominator = 0, Null, Numerator/Denominator)...
I have at least 15 of these rates (numerator, denominator, rate) on the same report..it works fine, but my business analyst has clarified the Rate requirement that if the denominator is 0 then the Rate should display 0 (instead of Null)..
When I change my Rate computed field to iif(Denominator = 0, 0, Numerator/Denominator) and press the "Change" button all the numerators and denominators on the pivot table are blanked out... I've refreshed the pivot table and everything; but, I can't stop this from happening. why the heck can't Access' pivot table be as robust as Excel's ???
I am a newbie to Access or any database for that matter. So please be gentle. I'm in the process of writing an automotive invoicing database and have gotten stuck early in the game. On my form I have Qty1 - Mat1 - and Amt1 fields placed from my database. In Amt1 I would like to typein an amount and have it multiplied by 15% (.015). I fiddled with the "On Enter" in the Amt1 property box but got nowhere. Can someone help???

What I creating is a database that I can track students and their community service hours.
I have made several versions but I figured the experts could point me in the right direction.
So far I created two tables:
tblStudents STUDENT_NAME - Text HOURS_GIVEN - Long Integer
tblHours STUDENT_NAME - text Links to tblStudent DATE_COMPLETED - Date HOURS_COMPLETED - Long Integer
I created a form "frmStudent" with the following:
a drop box to chose a student name from "tblStudent" a text box "txtSTUDENT_NAME" another text box "txtHOURS_GIVEN" another text box "HOURS_REMAINING"
Then I have a subform that has two text boxes "txtDATE_COMPLETED and "txtHOURS_COMPLETED"
I need a code that will enable me to chose a student from the combo box and then have that students name and hours given automatically enter into the respective text boxes in the main form. Then I would enter the date and hours completed into the respective text boxes of the subform, which in turn would update the fields in "tblHours" at the same time subtracting the new hours from the hours given and displaying the new total hours remaining in the respective in "txtHOURS_REMAINING" of the main form. Can anyone give me any help in coding that? Thanks in advance.
This is probably pretty simple but i can't find any info on it on this forum:
Every time i open my form the cursor automatically selects a field halfway down the page. How do i get it to open with the cursor at the first field on the form???
Also, I would like the form to be maximised upon opening anyone know how to do this?
I know this has to be an easy fix but I can't find it. I would like to open my form with empty fields, in the first field, ready to go. Right now it is opening with the first field of the very first record. Please help
I'm creating a database to track new policies request. I have a form in datasheet view that displays a list for all Initial Review and Draft status. I would like to click (... or maybe double click) on the Policy Name field that will display all fields into single form that is link to PolicyID ... to update any info needed. In other words i want to click on that record to be display in actual form.

My scenario is that a user enters how many parts of 'Part No.' are going in or out of Inventory. I also would like fields automatically entered on other tables based on the data the user enters. All I need is some understanding of how to code something like this or a pointing in the direction of a resource that can tell me how to code this VBA stuff and the syntax required. Hopefully you get what I mean.
I seem to need some help! I have a table with customer information in it ie: name, vehicle, (Key=Id number)... it is the master link to the repair table ie: mileage, (Key=ROnumber), and repair data.. these two work together beautifull now I need to add another table, a check sheet for checking over a vehicle. I create the table and the form however I cannot open a new form with the ROnumber from the second already open form into the newly open form. (the second form is based on a Query, and I have tried changing it to a SQL statement both with no luck) is there an example of what I need to be doing to link the ROnumber to the ROnumber in the new form, or create the ROnumber so it will add the data in the linked table? I need this to open using a button on the open repair form David
I have a form based on a table called tblListMaster and I want to allow users to open up another form showing all the members of one of the entries in that table so I have added a button called 'Show List Members'.
The list members form which I then want to bring up is also based on tblListMembers (it's a master-detail form). When I hit the button to open up the list members form I get an error message saying that the table is already opened exclusively.
I can understand why I get that message so I thought I would be cunning and create a dummy form which I open up, passing in my list id in the openargs (at that point I also close the original form) and then from that dummy form automatically open up the master detail form and close the dummy.

I have a simple add form that will add an entry to one of two tables: Box 1-1, or Box 1-2.
They have the exact same fields. In the add form, I want the user to specify a Rack field and a Box field. Box 1-1 would be Rack 1, Box 1. Box 1-2 would be Rack 1, Box 2 (there will be more tables later, but just using two for now until I get it working).
But right now my form always adds to the table Box 1-1 - I can't get it to switch.
I've added the code I have so far below. The first part is what I'm having trouble with, the second part just uses a Submit button to add a new record - I'm just including it in case it's interfering in some way I'm not seeing. I'm running Access 2007.

First post in this forum. I am using office 2003 pro. I have an Access database that I would like to change the title of. I would ilke this change to be applied to forms, reports and tables. I have done this in the past but can't recall how to do it.
I have a login button in which if the username has an empty password or the user is his/her first time to login, another form will appear which is the Set New Password. How can I change the password of that current user, my Set New Password Form has two fields which is 'txtSetPassword1' and 'txtSetPassword2' and an OK button.
The user must enter a new password and a verification password, if the 2 fields matched, the new password entered will change the password in the table. The table name is 'tbl_UsernamesQry'.
I have done it but the main problem is, it changes the other's users password not the current user.

I have a form that allows users to click on an item in a listbox and it brings them to the selected record in another form. However, everytime I close the form and open it, it changes the client name in the list to the client ID.
List is set up like this

Turns into this on close - Changes the client name to the ID of the last item selected before close

1. I have a switchboard. I want to click a button, that opens a form with a dropdown list, when I make my selection, it opens a subform in add mode, but the linked field in the subform isn't empty, but filled with the mainform's field value that I selected?

2. Is there a way for me to open a form in add mode, add data to it, click the add button (I will add an add button) that allows me to add again, but this time a particular field is not empty, but filled with selected info from previous selection?
Say for instance, I have 2 fields (both combo box fields), I click add, made selections for both fields, I click add again, but this time one of the fields stays constant like it's already been selected. It's filled with what was selected from before.
I have a database with a table that contains 360,000 rows. I built a form with four boxes where a user can specify values to limit the result set. And instead of having a new window open with the results, I built a subform and placed it on the main form to display the results.
Here is how it flows: Main Form -> user enters search criteria Search Criteria -> feed as criteria in query Query Results -> display on subform Subform -> shows on main form
The query is setup to take the values from the main form and either use it if it's not null, or return all values if the field is null.
The problem I am having is that on opening the main form, Access is taking the four null values from the main form search fields, feeding them to the query, which is then feeding the subform. So 10 minutes later when the main form finally opens, I have 360K records displaying in my subform.
What I would like is to be able to open the main form instantly, specify my search criteria, then run the query, then have the query results populate the subform.
I wish to open a form based on the transaction table populate one of the foreign key fields with a selected value from a combo box from the switch board (with going to a mainform&subform). I know how to get the value of the combo box on the switchboard. I just know how to then store this value in the foreign key field. stSelectedCustomer = Forms![Switchboard].[CustomerID] gives me the value from the combo box on the switchboard. I then want to open the transaction form to open a new record and have Customer ID on this form be the stSelectedCustomer storing this value in the transaction table when the user enters values in the other fields.
I have a database (split into front and backend). Users populate the table using a form on the front end. Recently, it has been pointed out that some of the data entered into one specific textbox is being changed on the table. The data entered is always has a minimum of a letter and number value i.e. "A1", "A2" etc. Upon examining the table, this has changed into numeric values i.e. "1291", "1061", "852"... etc. Looks like it is translating them into both 3 and 4 digit numerical values by the looks of things. Where more complex data is entered such as "2(A1, A2)" these seem unaffected.
The field is set to text, I have set no validation rule, format or input mask. Just can't see why access is changing these values. It seems to be translating them, but I can't see a pattern.
I have a table called Inventory (table1 - PK=INVID) that contains all inventory ID numbers and descriptions. I have another table called Inventory Transactions (table2 - FK=INVID) that gets updated through a form. When a new transaction is made in table2, I want the transaction amount to get added or subtracted to an OnHandQty field in table1. I tried having table2 (transaction table) as the main form and then table2 as the subform, but I couldn't get table2 to update.
I currently import data into a table and it it has a text field which looks like this: 12,345.67 GBP...I need to use a query to make this a number field so that I can sum it's contents. I've managed to remove the 'GBP' part but can't seem to get rid of the comma?
