I want to open a new form with information related to the main form.

I'd like to change the colour of the text in a command button when the user click the button, but for the text to return to it's original colour when the botton pops back up.
I'm assuming you use the following commands:

I have a subform where you can add multiple records. i have a command button labelled NEXT (which obviously navigates to the next record) but I only want this to be enabled when there is more than one record.
I am OK on the enabling bit but how do you specify if the record number >1?
Does someone have time to start me off on some code?
I have a form with a control for the user to enter some data and then two command buttons 'OK' and 'Cancel'
For the OnExit event in the control I have a procedure that check the user input and if incorrect, opens a message box with an error message asking the user to correct the data. It then cancels the event so the focus remains in the current control.
However if the user presses the 'Cancel' command button on the form to cancel & close the form, the OnExit event for the current control still fires and asks the user to correct the data.
In my code in the control, how can I recognise that the Cancel command button has been pressed, so I can cancel the OnExit event and close the form?
I have a form (Pipeline) with an on load event that automatically directs the user to a new empty record.

Now my problem is that I am trying to design a 'search form' that will allow the user to look up a specific record in the main form by pressing a command button. Creating the search form is easy enough. I cannot figure out how to override the on load event in the main form when pressing the command button.
As it is right now, the button opens the form and then go directly to a new record.
I have a tabbed form in a navigation form with a chart on it. The records source of the chart is a query. The query runs when you click the tab and takes a long time. I changed the Row Source of chart to "" and that eliminates the query running on form load. I've read many posts on changing that row source when a command button is clicked. I tried
in the onclick event of the command button. This doesn't work. I've tried many variations of the syntax. I don't know if I have to tell the query to run after the row source is changed.
On a side note, the query criteria is based on beginning and end dates entered into text boxes on the form. This all works if the query loads when the form is opened.

I have been doing this in other places, but the transisition after the last required field is complete gets ugly.If Trim(cmbBoxname1 & "") = vbNullString ' check all 4..If it is the 4th one, the event seems not to happen quick enough for the bottom 5 text boxes to be enabled so the user can continue with data entry.
I am rewriting an old Access 2003 database in Access 2010. When creating new command buttons, the current theme gives them a default appearance. I need to apply this appearance to old command buttons. I know there is a way to select the default button and apply its properties to others quickly. I have done it before but didn't write the process down .
I have created a web-database (? - There are globes over all the forms and tables icons) based on the Issues & Tasks template. This means that most of the data is entered and seen on the "Main" form, which has two tabs - Open Issues and Closed Issues. I have created a form that allows people at my work to input the necessary data and save it, so that it will show up on one of the two tabs. However, once a record has been created, I want to be initially locked if the ID/PK is clicked, so that data can't be changed or entered inadvertently.
SO, I changed the code so that when the ID/PK for a record is clicked, it brings up a different form, but one that looks exactly like the one that is brought up when entering a new form, but I locked all of the fields so that the information cannot be changed. It seems from what I have read that I can create a button on this form so that when clicked, it unlocks the fields on the form so that they can be changed, and then when clicked again it will lock the fields again. Is this true? If so, how can I do it? Or is there something similar I can do? I have seen codes that I could copy and paste, but I cannot figure out the place to copy and paste codes in Access 2010.

I am working on a database project using Access 2010 and encounter some ComboBox text color problem,
The form has a ComboBox that displays the Supplier Name. The Combo's source control is Supplier ID in the Products table which joints the Supplier Table containing the Supplier Name. To display the Supplier Name only, I use a column count of 2 (for VendorID and VendorName) and column width of 0";2" so as to hide the SupplierID.
VBA is used to dynamically change the ForeColor and BackColor (via the Control Property ".ForeColor" etc) of the text in the ComboBox and TextBox. This works well for all TextBoxes and the ComboBoxes with direct data from the Products Table. However, for the ComboBox of VendorName, the BackColor can change but the ForeColor always remains as black. I have tried using the Format query such as "[White];@;[White];@" which works on the TextBox and other ComboBox (with direct field data from table), but the situation remains the same on this ComboBox which uses join-table reference via the VendorID.
I have the following form and subform combination:
The subform is linked to the main form by way of the "ProductID" control. (It's hidden in the subform).
Basically, each product (the finished article) is made up of many components.
What I would like to do is this:
1. Increase the stock of a "Product". 2. The Stock level control on the main form will then increment as much as selected 3. Contrary to that, I would like each component to decrement the relevant amount based on how much of the component is used up to make the product.
E.g. If I have Product A and it contains 2 components of which component A is used once per product but component B is used twice, then when I increase stock of product by 1, then component A goes down by 1 and component B goes down by 2. But If I put two of a product in to stock, I would obviously need component A to go down by 2 but component B to go down by 4.
I am thinking I need some way to loop through each record in the sub form for the current form, such as "Do While Not", or a "For Each". And then stick an Update query within the loop, but to be honest I can't think of how I need to address it!
does anyone have any idea on how to disable a button after the event has been run? I want to give the user a few options on a form. When one is depressed i would like that option not to be available any more.

but i guess i need to refreash the page somehow. All i keep getting is an error saying "Object doesnt support this proerty or method"
Attached is a project I am working on. It's a personal reminder program. The problem I am having is that when I enter the actual completion date at the bottom and click on the "Complete Task" button, I want the record to be copied to the History table, then the Start Date and Due Dates reset based on the Frequency. If someone could look at the On Click event procedure for this button and help me get this fixed, I would appreciate it very much. I don't know much about VB or SQL coding.
I am making updates to an existing access application created by someone else a while back. I am a programmer by trade, but have limited experience with access and VBA.
What I am trying to do is tie some controls to the autoform nav buttons so when the user is moving through records the controls will be updated with the current records information. Something along the lines of an autoform.navarrow.click event.
The information I need to display comes from various other tables with one to many relationships. Not sure if this is the best way to go about handling this.
Would it be better to recreate the autoform based off of a query that does a join of the necessary tables? Think a customer table, items table and a purchases table(customer.id, item.id, date, quantity etc...)
Two other questions
1. Is there an event for tabs similar to onclick? So when I am clicking through tabs it will fire off an event.
2. I would like to fire off an event based on the current record in the autoform, how do I get that event to fire off when the form loads? I tried in form_load but it won't work. I am assuming because I am tying into the records ID, which isn't available until after the form loads.
I'm struggling with a small issue that has to be quite simple.
I have a form called "Project Main" with a label called "Check". There is a sub form called "PM Main" with a button "Button1".
What I want to do is to have the label "Check" change color when the button "Button1" is clicked. The color change is record specific, so here is what I have done:
-Created a table [Updated] that contains the project number [ID#] and a yes/no field [PM Updated]
-Now I need to be able to change that value (yes/no) when the button "Button1" is clicked.
-Then I need to have the main form "Project Main" check to see what the value of the [updated] table is.
-Then I need to have code to update the color of label "Check"
Does this make sense or am I making more complicated than it is?
I am using a timer function to hopefully calulate have long a call has lasted, I have setup a rolling clock called "ElapsedTime" and i have the start time running off the P.C. Time this is called "txt_Start", this works fine no issues.
Now comes the fun bit i have a button called "cmd_Finish", i wish the time to be calulated and the total time to be placed in a text box called "txt_Finish" sound easy but nope this would apear not to be.
The Following Setup is used:- ElapsedTime = "00:00:00" txt_Start = Time(), formated to LongTime txt_Finish = Formated to Long Time
Example of what i would like to happen txt_Start = 10:40:02 ElapsedTime = 00:00:11 txt_Finish = 10:40:13

I was wondering if there is a way to disable a command button after it has been clicked for a small period of time. (lets say 1 second) stopping the user from any happy clicking. (fast repetitive clicks)
This is to do with viewing embedded images, i can explain more if required.
I have been working on this for awhile, and can't figure it out for the life of me!
I have a form set up with a drop down box that lets me pick from values from a table based off of the Primary Key of that table (Row Source = SELECT Order.OrderID, Order.OrderName from Order). I have a button on the form that I want to set a value (Closed) from the table entry based off of the order selected.
Pseudo code would go something like this.
Closed.Value = True Where Table.Order.OrderID = SelectedOrderID
Table.Order is a Table Named Order (obviously) Closed is a yes/no field in my Order table OrderID is the primarykey of the table Order SelectedOrderID is the drop down box.
I, unfortunately, have been singled out as the Access guru in my work area. We have 223 people and the Information Manager has tasked me to modify a database he "found" to be able to track a number of things, but most important to him: performance reports.
I have posted the sample of what I currently have. What is being asked of me is a way in which to have a button or by double-clicking a block where a date would go for all other dates on the form to become non-visible while the current date stored in the computer the database is being worked from be entered in the block where the button or double-click happened. All this links to a report for the IM to be able to track what performace reports are out, and when they are due back to his section. He also wants me to be able to show which are overdue and where they are at. I am not sure if it is at all possible, but with me having spend most of last week purusing the articles on Access here, I know now that nothing is implausible if you happen to go about it the right way.
Since I have read the rules on posting, here is what I have done. I searched the forum for command button and got a lot of really cool ideas to use elsewhere in the database. I looked up the help in the program itself for command button, and got some good information on how a command button works, but I cannot make it put a date into a block. I can enter the date in any block that is a date format, but then I have dates in every block. He only wants to see the most current date in any of the blocks.
Any assistance at this point would be appreciated. If I have missed something in another thread, I apologise in advance.
