Close Form Upon Clicking A Comman Button

Aug 28, 2005

I have a startup splash screen with a "OK" button, similar to Nortwind database. The OK button works as far as opening my switchboard page. But how do I get the Splash screen to close after I click the OK button? So I can see my switchboard page.

Conditional Format A Comman Button?

Dec 7, 2005

Quick question.

I have a continuous form in Access 2003 listing products for return for a customers. I am in the process of creating a completion form which will just have the product number, model number and then a command button called complete.

What I'm doing is have it so when the person clicks the button it adds a value to a field saying Complete. OK. But, what I then want it to do is for any record thats associated with this customer where the field = complete to have the command button gray out.

Is this possible? I know I can conditional format a text box to do this but can't see a way to do it with a command button? Any ideas?

I have though of layering a transparent button and having a textbox behind this with complete in and having this change colour but not sure if thats the best way?

Forcing A Value On Combo Box By Clicking Form Button?

Nov 4, 2014

I use a Frm1 which updates my Tbl1. By clicking on this Bt1 of the Frm1 the record is duplicated on purpose having enabled and disabled fields. While Frm1 shows the duplicated record (so it is open) I can change it and save it as needed. However the Frm1 loads having an enabled Cbo1 which normally allows the regular user to pick any value A,B,C or D.

What I would like to have is a line code under the Bt1 click event able to set the value "D" on the duplicated record only. I can not write it under the load form event because I need value "D" set on the combo only when I click the Bt1. Regular user still should be able to select between A,B,C or D when he loads the Frm1 to input a new record.

I tried Me.cbo1="D", also tried Me.cbo1.column(1)="D" under the Bt1 click event and both of them failed. What have I done wrong? How can I get it done?

I have a program that has a "GC" Button that I click on which takes me to a General Contractor Form. It works perfectly unless the Firm has an apostrophe in it's name. For example "D'Agostino". (refer to attached DAgostino1.jpg). When I click on the GC button, I get the attached Syntax error, (Syntax on DAgostiono.jpg).

The third attachment (GC Firm Button Code.jpg) shows the VBC for this button.

how to fix this error?

Forms :: Prevent Bound Form From Updating Records Before Clicking On Save Button

Oct 31, 2014

I am working on a web database with a form which is bound to an underlying web table where the submissions occur.My challenge is that the fields on the form get submitted to the table even before the submit button is clicked regardless of whether the form was completely filled.

My request is that I want the form to only submit to the submission table only when the submit button is clicked.When I searched on the net, the only solutions I got are VBA written code but my web database cannot use VBA code.

VBA code:

Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Private blnGood As Boolean
Private Sub cmdSave_Click()
blnGood = True
Call DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdSaveRecord)
blnGood = False
End Sub

Close Form Button

Jul 27, 2005

I have a form that is loaded through a hyperlink from another form. On this form I have placed a command button which closes the form (DoCmd.Close) I have also used the full syntax including form name and no save prompt. When i close this form using the command button I get a request for two paramter values that are used in queries in this form (I don't want this to happen) when I click the close button on the control box "X" this doesn't happen also it doesn't happen if I use file close. This problem only occurs on some of the slower machines in my workplace, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The is one combo box on the form in question which is set to run a macro after update, this macro requeries the 52 list boxes on the form.

Make-Table_Query; No Notification After Clicking A Button

Sep 24, 2007

Question:
I have a make-table query which is runned when clicking on a button in a form.
Of course after clicking the button the following notifications appear:

1) You are about to run a make-table query that will modify the data in your table (yes, no help)
2) (if the table exists) The Existing Table <<tablename>> will be delted before you run the query (yes, no)
3) your are about to paste 1 row(s) into a new table (yes, no)

How can i make it possible that on forehand all three questions are "yes", so that the user does not see these questions, but the table is filled with the relevant information and can be used?

Thanks in advance for your answers/reactions/help

Need Help Getting Comman Errors And Lost As How To Fix

Sep 15, 2005

I have created a Media Contact Database and have a few issues that I believe are probably related to something I have done wrong. I am kind of a novice and I can't see my error and was hoping some one could look at my DB and see where I have gone wrong

1. on Company info form have added a dropdown box to select media type and it fills in on table a number instead of the actual word Eg. "Radio"
2.on contacts form when I save a new record it says "Microsoft jet database engine cannot find a record in the table 'media types' with key matching fields 'mediatype ID'
3.Also on contacts table when I select from dropdown box "Company Name" it works but if I try to change again it errors and won't let me change unless I close form and go back into record.
4. I am trying to create a report on company info with contacts related to this company as there can be many contacts to one company. but when i create a query including both table I only get company info if there is a contact associated with it. Sometimes there will be no contacts associated with company.

I will attach database so you can look at. I have worked many hours on this and it seems when I get one thing working another goes wrong. I know it seems a lot but I think its small issues that I just can't see. Any help would mean the world.

Thanks Rickilynn (ricki.kleinfelder@gov.ab.ca)
