I have a frmServiceOrder form that has a "datasheet type" sfrmSOItem subform with a combo box that allows a user to select service order items...
Problem:
When I select a service order item in the dropdown, it doesnt place the item in the record...I have to select it a 2nd time in order to make it appear in the record. However, if I select the item by typing (i.e., via autofill) and hit the enter key, the item will populate in the record the 1st time.
I suspect it has something to do with my query joins. I hav played with various combinations and cant find a solution...
My combobox is not working correctly. When I select one of the dropdown items in the combobox it always defaults to the 1st item on the list. I want to be able to select any of the dropdown items on the list.
I have a main form with several continuous subforms on it. These subforms are based on a selection of fields of a complete and editable form, so these subforms are overview forms so to speak. Whenever a field of a certain record is clicked, the other subforms show the linked data for that record, whenever a field of a certain record is double clicked, the corresponding form opens so data can be edited.
I would like to show which record is selected (record selectors are not enabled) in the way you select text in any application in windows. So when record A (holding fields A1, A2, A3 and A4) is selected in any way, the text should be lit up as if struck with a text-marker pen.
How do I go about that?
It would really be nice, since there is a cascading effect of records going on in the main form, which can get a bit confusing if you have to or want to glimpse at which record is selected. So for ease of use, this feature would really be nice.
Does anyone know how to get the columns of a listbox selected item and store it to a string? There is no multi-selection so it should be easier. I tried s$ = Me.list1.selected but it keeps giving me an error
I am having trouble with a If statement. I am trying to save a record into a table when an item is Selected (highlighted blue) in a list box. Keep in mind that my listbox is set to multiple selections. I have the following code but sometimes it works and sometimes it doest.
The reason why I am trying to get this to work is because when a item is selected I will add it to the table and when an item is deselected I will delete it from a table. See my code and pictures I have attached :

I have a MS Access database, which contains three main tables. With these I have a completed table, which holds either Yes/No within it.
One of the tables, I have linked to the Completed table as a list box, which when a job has been completed, either yes or no can be selected.
But, what I want to happen, is, when the Yes is selected, I want Access to insert the date the 'Yes' was selected, so that the employee cannot lie about the date the job was completed.
Hope I have explained this in a good enough fashion.

My list box will be used to populate a form, is it possible that once the item is dble-clicked, it reverts to a different color to let the user know it has already been selected once or can the row be locked once it has been selected?

But when I select an item from the listbox, and debug the code, the Count is always zero? Even though I can see the item selected??
The user can select multiple items (non-sequential) on the listbox, say items 1 and 35313. I'd like the listbox to scroll (meaning display) to the currrently selected item, so that the user can see it while being processed.
I've seen stuff about property ListIndex, which does exactly that, but it's only useful when you have just ONE item selected (in a multiselect listbox apparently it deselects the rest of the items, so no point in using it, I guess, unless there's more to it!!).
So the key here is how to do the scrolling/display.

Quick question, (and hopefully a quick and easy answer).
I have a check box and a combo box. If the check box is not checked and a user clicks on the combo box, I have a message box that pop ups and informs the user that he/she must click the check box first. However, after they ok the message box, my combo box shows it's dropdown list.
Is there a way to stop the dropdown from occurring when they click on the combo box?
With Access 2000, for the On Focus event, typing Me!MyCombobox.Dropdown displays the entries in the drop down list. With 2007 the list appears momentarily and then disappears. Is there a way to keep the list from disappearing
I have a combo box that I normally type the start of a Surname and it auto drops down from underlying database ID is now show in col count, only 1st two.
Surname Name ID jones/k kelly 33333 smith/m max 12345 smith/m monty 98765 white/t tom 55555
smith/m will short list to the two above, I can mouse click or arrow down to the 2nd one Press enter & its knowa the corresponding ID (= surname.Column(2)) and goes to the correct record.
What I am trying to do, is from another part of my program, eg an incoming email with the corresponding Surname, Name & ID Automatically go to this main booking form, auto enter surname "smith/m" - which is fine, the list shortens but It goes to the first matching on the list, ie max.
Is there a way to get it to go to monty using the ID 98765 which is unique.
Perhaps an odd request but actually nice to book each time through this same main form, I actually also want it to do the same from incoming phone calls, It can get the unique ID ok but can see a way for the combo box to jump to the correct & only row from underlying register.
Bit worried about trying to change the underlying select statement that the combo seems to be based on, perhaps this is the way forward but not sure how to do this & don;t want to risk messing the most important & already functioning well normal entry style.
I have a combo box in the header area. The record source, Bound Column are set correctly ( I know because I tested it on a form ). In this instance, the user would select from the dropdown list, the name of a member of staff, based on the click-event, and passing the Staff_ID to a variable, this would be used to filter a recordset/recordsource for the report. However, there is no dropdown ( or arrow on combo - so no name can be selected ) ?
I have a form bound to a table which has 20 (name)fields and 1 date per record. A user fills in this form first to indicate which people are present this day. I know it would be better to use 1 name per record but that would in this case not work since the form must show all names for that day before saving and closing.
I have a different form where I use 4 combo boxes and a date field. The values that can be selected in the combo boxes should come from the 20 names on the first form and with the same date as the other form. So only 4 people of the 20 indicated as present on that day can be selected to have performed some task.

I have several comboboxes (6) on my form.How to populate these comboboxes with values depending on selected value in previous combobox.
Example.Lets say that you select value "Audi" in combobox 1, then available values in combobox 2 should be "A4","A6","TT" etc. and if you selected "BMW" in combobox 1, then available values in combobox 2 should be "3-series", "5-series" etc...
I would like to set up rules/constraints such that the value selected in combo box A determines the available values in combo box B. For example, "Combo box A" is bound to the [PartnerType] field and "Combo box B" is bound to the [PartnerRole] field. Let's say that the two choices in Combo Box A are "LLC", "LP", and "Corporation". There are 5 possible choices in Combo Box B: "X", "Y", "Z", "Q", and "U". If a user selects "LP" in Combo Box A, I would like Combo Box B to only show choices "X" and "Y". And if a user selects "LLC", only choices "Y", "Z", "Q", and "U".
Similarly, I would like to set this up so that Combo Box B is not initially visible--it becomes visible when a user selects "LLC" or "LP". If a user selected "Corporation", Combo Box B would remain hidden.
