i have a combo box from a table with id(autonumber) and status(option 1, 2 and 3) as the col names. I want the default value to equal option 1 and when you load the form this default value be displayed in the combobox. I do not want the form to be loaded and set the value again if option 2 and 3 have been selected from a previous session. I have tried something like:
Can anyone tell me how you set a default value in a combobox? In my rowsource field I'm working with the values "Original";"Copy", and I just want the default to be "Original", so the user doesn't have to open up the combo everytime to choose one or the other... only if they need to change it to "copy". Hope that makes sense. anyone know? thanks!
i have 2 tables (clients, frequencies) where in table "clients" i have a column to store ID of "frequencies" table (id, description).
in my form "FClient" i display data stored in table "clients" and i have a combobox that should display the "frequencies" descriptions, but with a frequency selected by default...in fact the one that has its ID stored in table "clients". i'm able to display all frequencies descriptions but i don't know how to easily select and then display, as default, the frequency stored in table "client"
how I can set multiple default values in a ComboBox in a form. The ComboBox is based on a table and my main table also uses the ComboBox.
Example:
Main table has a column "Brands". The ComboBox is based on another table which includes the following items (and thus the ComboBox also shows them):
- CocaCola - Fanta - Sprite
The form has the same ComboBox which is linked to the main table.
Now, if a user creates a new form entry, all ComboBox items should be preselected (checked). It does work with one item over the standard "Default" property.
I have a form with a combo boxes and a table with relevant list and additional field, fldDefaultDrive (Yes/No Field).
Currently in order to set the default value, I have used the following code for each default;
Private Sub Form_Load() Forms!frmMediaLabeller!CboDriveName.DefaultValue = """D"""
End Sub
However, I want users to be able to go into the table and change the default value if thier CD player default Drive is anything but D: Drive. I have tried to replace the D above with an SQL statement but with no success.
Private Sub Form_Load()
Dim Drivename As String
Drivename = SELECT tblMediaDrive.fldDrivename FROM tblMediaDrive WHERE (((tblMediaDrive.fldDefaultDrive)=-1));
I am trying to use a combobox called Manufacturer to select which table the combobox called Model gets it's rowsource from using the code below.
Code:
Private Sub Manufacturer_AfterUpdate() If (Me.Manufacturer.Value = "Siemens") Then Me.Model.RowSourceType = "Table/Query" Me.Model.Recordset = "SeimensTable" Me.Model.RowSource = "SELECT Model FROM SeimensTable" Else If (Me.Manufacturer.Value = "Samsung") Then Me.Model.RowSourceType = "Table/Query" Me.Model.Recordset = "SamsungTable" Me.Model.RowSource = "SELECT Model FROM SamsungTable" End If End If End Sub
But when I run the form and select Manufacturer. Combobox Model remains empty. tell me what I'm doing wrong?
How would I modify multiple comboboxes in subforms at the same time. For example.. In main form ComboboxA user selects 1992, Combobox1 in subform1 is also changed to 1992, as well as Combobox2 in subform 2.
I have 2 comboboxes, the first one is called "activity", whereby I have 3 options to choose from, and the second is called "level".
When I click an "activity", for example Drawings, I want the "level" combobox to list a unique set of options for that category. and if I click on a different "activity" for example Planning, I want the "level" combobox to show a completely different set of options.
If anyone can give me any help on how to do this then I would be very grateful!!
I've tried searching the forums and haven't found quite what i'm looking for. I would like to be able to change the source for a combobox based on another combobox. The simplest way i can summarize that is i want to be able to choose A or B, depending on my choice i want another combobox to display all the values that A or B can have.
I've read some tutorials on this sort of thing, but I can't seem to piece it all together to achieve what I want.
I have a table Products that contains the fields Product, Size and Brand. I also have a form, frmProducts, that has a combobox linked to each of the fields in the Products table. I want to be able to select a product from the first combobox, tab to the Brand combobox and have only those brands associated with the product already selected.
This is how I think it should work: 1.ComboBox1 selects productA 2.ComboBox2 takes its options from a query that searches Products table for all instances of productA and displays all available brands. brandA is selected. 3.ComboBox3 get its options from another query that searches for all instances of productA that also have brandA and displays all available sizes.
What I'm having trouble with in particular is passing the data between queries. For example, I can't figure out how to tell the query to search for all instances of productA when its defined by the first combobox. Do I have to store it as a variable somewhere?
I am trying to set up two date fields in a table, and I would like the second date field to default to the value of the first date field for each record - is this possible to do in the table design?
I want to set the default value on a table to 'Previous'. Basically I want to display the value in the field above it, so say if I have a company name "bobs boats", I want the next company name to default to "bobs boats". Can you do this??
Ive got a table set up which is not calculating properly (or least i cant seem to get it to) Basically i have a row for quantity and a row for unit price. What i want to do in my table if possible is times the unit price by the quantity so it will come up in my reports which at the moment it isnt doing, as the default value is 0 in my table! Might anyone be able to help me on this matter?
I have a billing date on my form. Each billing date should be on the 15th of any month (1/15 or 2/15 or 3/15, etc…) Is there a way to default a day to the 15th and then make the user enter month and year? Or if there is no way to default the date to the 15th, may be there is somehow I can check to see if day that user entered = 15th? Thanks.
How can I Default a Text Box value by the input of another two Text Boxes. This Expression on the Text Box Default Value does not work.
=IIf([Text0]=0 Or ([Text8]="<" And [Text0]=1),"White",IIf(([Text0]>=1 And [Text0]<=49),"Blue",IIf(([Text0]>=50 And [Text0]<=499),"Orange",IIf([Text0]>=500,"Yellow","No Input, left blank")))) :confused:
Other Text Boxes follow, I want to see the Default Value as soon as I leave Text0 and Text8.
