Command Button To Populate Yes/no Boxes

I have a form with several yes/no boxes (set up as TRUE or FALSE in the table). I want to place a command button, that if i click it, all the check boxes i want to be populated with the value of TRUE, populates them. I was attempting to do this through the expression builder. Would doing this in VBA be a better option? well if any one has any advice, or can help me with this, then thank you.

May 22, 2015I have a tabbed form from which the user can select a contact's record from a subform on the first tab, click a edit command button, and the unbound text boxes on the top of that tab populate. The user can then click the second tab with employment history which has blank unbound text boxes and another subform which is linked by the contact id to the first tab.
The user can select a record in the second tab, click a command button and the text boxes populate no problem. The problem comes when the user changes the contact on the first tab, and then tries to edit a record on the second tab. Then I get a run-time error '-2147352567 (80020009)' saying the value you entered isn't valid for this field. Why it would work the first time by not the second?
Updating Field By Command Button

I have searched the forums and tried various options but I get an error message about the syntax.
The button is to run a SQL query to update a field by calculating on the value of a another field on the form. The query is
DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE BatchPayments SET BatchPayments.[GST Amount] = (BatchPayments.[Net Amount]*0.1) WHERE BatchPayments.BatchPaymentsID=" & Me.BatchPaymentsID&";"
The error message is a compile error where it is expecting a list separator or ).
Probably simple but it has got me beat.
Any help will be appreciated.

I have a form which lists Employees (flds EmployeeID (pk), Surname etc.) and a form listing Absences (flds AbsenceID(pk), EmployeeID(fk), StartDate...etc.).
from the employee form, I want to use a command button that will take me to the Abscences form but auto insert the EmployeeID and then I can fill out the rest.
I tried the go to form command for the button but its only looking for existing absences with that ID?
can anyone help please?

Coding Command Button To Add A Few New Records To A Table
Nov 2, 2006I have 2 tables, one has a list of comments indexed by numbers.
The second table will be populated with numbers that correspond to the first table based on usage of the form that I'm about to describe.
The form contains several check boxes. Each corresponds to a comment from the first table. If 3 of the check boxes are selected when the command button is pressed, I want three separate new record entries to go into the second table and the data that I want entered is the text in the label that is next to each check box on the form. After the records are added to the table, I'd like to reset the check boxes.
I simply cannot figure out how to code the button to do this.

May 18, 2006I'm looking for someone to help me with a solution to my problem of importing data into a data table.
What I'd like to do is have a command button on a form. When this button is clicked the records in a table are cleared out. Then I'd like for a browse window to come up to locate an Excel file. The user would select this file and the data would be imported into the data table that was just cleared.
Can this be done without too much trouble?

Aug 11, 2013I have two tables, one is GENETIC and the other one is BoneSampleDNAprofile. Both tables have the field CY-Code. I want to create small form with 2 text box fields and one command button on the form to be able to insert CY-Code from the table GENETIC to designated DNA_LAB_Code in the table BoneSampleDNAprofile.
In that small form I would type DNA_LAB_Code and CY-Code where after pressing command button will insert CY-Code for the designated DNA_LAB_Code. This is continuous process after our Laboratory receive results from DNA laboratory. I have attached two .png files which are example of two tables.

Creating A Search Button That Will Retrieve Data From Table And Populate Form
Jan 24, 2015I've been able to navigate a lot on my own, but there is one issue I cannot seem to resolve. I have 1 form and 1 table. I have the form set up so that you can enter data, and then press a button, and it will "save" and refresh the form for a new entry. However, I want to be able to pull that entry back up in the form, and fill out additional fields later on.The form is set to data entry = yes because I do want the form to open up as brand new each time.
To sum up my question. I want a text box and search button at the top of my form. When you type an ID number in the text box, and then press search, I want access to populate my form with the information in my data table associated with that ID number.
If I type in the number 1234 and hit search. I want my form to autopopulate with the data in the row for ID number 1234 (all the fields I have already populated). So by searching 1234, the name, phone, background info, etc that is populated in the row will appear.

Jan 15, 2015I am creating a database to keep up with the expenses for my art business. I have a table for Vendors with a field (Mileage) for one-way mileage that I enter manually (EX: 11.8 miles). Then I have a calculated field that basically just multiplies the Mileage field times two to get total mileage to and from my house to vendor location. (Total Miles) {The reason I want to do this this way right now is because I didn't keep up with my mileage this year and I am having to look up the distance from my home to each location)
Then I have a "supplies" table where I show the date, the vendor, the item, cost, etc, and I want to add a Total Mileage field based on the calculated Total Miles field in the Vendors table that will automatically populate based on the vendor of each transaction. I just can't remember how to make this work and I know just enough SQL to be dangerous.

Aug 12, 2013I have created a database for a church cemetery. It contains the usual names, birthrates deaths, etc.... I have also created a map of the cemetery in PDF format with the lot number highlighted which is assigned to a particular record. I did the same in excel with a layout of the lot and a JPEG picture of the grave marker. In my table I created Three columns - Site Plan, Lot Plan, and Grave marker. I insert the specific site plan, lot plan, and jpeg picture using the "insert object" in the table. On my form after a search, I have created three buttons.. Site Plan, Lot Plan & Grave Marker.
I have looked and experimented trying to assign these command buttons to open these files on the form. I don't have any experience with macros or VB code.

Feb 28, 2013Within my table if Field 1 has an answer of Self (from drop down), then, I would like Fields 6-12 to auto populate; however, if Field 1 does not have an answer of Self, then leave Fields 6-12 blank.
I am not quite sure how to lay this out. I am using Access 2010.
