Need some help on a command which would close any on screen active form. I want to have this Esc key enabled as an autokey to close any screen active form. I know how this autokey thing works but unable to figure out proper code.

I have a macro that Runs from a button that I attached to a form called " plans" the macro opens up a Dialog form from which I select a drawing number from, on selection of that drawing number a query is run and finds the information I want
The problem I am having is when I close the query the macro button goes active so if I want to run another query using the button it goes to the last record I selected. I have tried the refresh command but that does not work..I really need the button not to be active when the query is closed.
Am working with Access 2007. I have built a macro that opens several make table queries and exports the tables to excel spreadsheets. Macro functions properly, however the query results still show in the access database screen. What macro command can I use to close these screens after the action is done? I use the CLOSE command for each query but the results still show in the Access window.

what could be the reason. Do I have to put some condition on the macro I have created for the two buttons listed above. I have just put "action" without any conditions on both the two buttons.
I have a form that records when a user edits a record. This change is only recorded when the user clicks the "update record/save" command button. What I need help with is capturing the changes made when a user edits the record in any field and doesn't click the save button upon closing the form. If the user doesn't edit any fields in the record, a new instance of this edit will not be saved to my edited records table and the form just closes

I have a main form populated by Dlookups.When I click on a textbox I open another form which is used to change data in my main table. Once this is closed the main form is still displayed but the amended data isnt reflected in this form. How do i get the data to change, I have tried requerying the form and the query that is used for the dlookups but I cant get it to work.

I have a pop up form that requires me to fill out all 4 fields of the form. When I don't, I get a prompt telling me which field(s) I've forgotton to fill in and allows me the option to Cancel (Yes or No) and if i decide yes it wont save and will close the form. BUT when I say No (Don't cancel), it still closes out the form and I obviously don't want that. I don't know if it might have to do with my macro button either? Any clue?

I have a combo box that contains a list of values, but users can add their own if they choose. If the value they type in isn't on the list, the Not In List event fires. Once the procedure is done, the form inexplicably closes.
Oddly enough, it only closes under certain circumstances - the code provides several different options for saving the new data, and if I choose different options, the form works as its designed.
Further, if I insert a breakpoint anywhere in the code, then hit F5 to let the code run, the form works fine. Literally, the breakpoint can be anywhere in the procedure from the first line (On Err...) to the last line in the Exit block, "Exit Sub".
Access database 2007: I have a database with some forms init but when i type my username and password to open the main menu to insert data the form shows 1 second and closes the whole database. I don't know whether the problem is the VB code or the microsoft.

Is there someone or somewhere where I can get information on how to build one step by step in simple easy instructions....(access 2003).
Also, how do you get access to open all the windows, tables, queries etc in full screen mode.
I have expaneded them and shut it down and then reopened it but they still want to open out of full screen mode.

I have a number of Forms which the user can jump around from one to the next. All the forms remain open with the form they are currently viewing showing on top. If they make a change on one particular form then when they return to a previously viewed form I want to disable or hide certain certain controls etc.
I know this would be simple to do on the on open command but as previously mentioned as I am not closing the forms after they are viewed, if the user returns to a previously opened form then this is not picked up.
Soooo, basically I'm after something like
When the user moves from one form to another already opened form for the new form to immediately know that it now has the focus and for it to do something along the lines of on open.
Any help will be appreciated

I have main form with everything on it using tabs and so on and everything is working fine. What I would like to do is this. Since I am jumping frequently between different records and many actions require main form to be reopened or refreshed and when this happens the form goes to random records, I would like for form to go to last record i was on before it was refreshed or opened.
I was thinking using tempVars to set the id but the problem is that I am not sure what can trigger the TempVars since I am jumping between the records and not making any changes to them.
Field "A" is the drop list to select data like (Yes, No)
Field "B" is inactive but turn it to active when the field "A" is select to "Yes".
I have a database with a filter on the form which users can apply I know at the bottom of the form it highlights it as filtered but I want something a bit more prominent displayed on the form when a filter is active.

I basically want to have a live preview window of the "File Link" attachment in that current record. I have heard it's best to use a Web Browser Control when doing this, but I cannot get it to display the currently attached pdf file in that field of that record.
Is there a way to edit the link properties of the Web Browser Control so that it dynamically detects. The file location of the attached file in that field? There will only ever be one attachment in that field, as this will be a live pdf view of the drawing to which that drawing number was assigned
I have a form where the user clicks a button (button 1) to open a modal form, the user then enters data into this form and clicks close.
Then back in the first form I need to find which control had focus before (button 1) was clicked.
Screen.PreviousControl returns a control on the modal form.
I hope its easy like Forms!FirstForm.PreviousControl but I can't seem to find it!
I have a form that has a bar down the left side of my form that is right next to the navaigation bar. It has a arrow pointing toward the form. If I click on it nothing happens. Don't know what it is and would like to get rid of it if possible.

At present if you double click on any item within the control boxes your taken to another form_B with info about that item and when you close that from down again if refreshes form_A.

I already tried this code in the form:

But a form does not seem to have the property .Left or .Top.
Does anyone have the solution?

I'm trying to tie a from into the results from and AD Query. I'm not that experienced with doing this kind of thing so I may be going about this the wrong way. Anyway here's what I've got so far:

When stepping through the code, it all goes well until it hits the line that actually connects it to the form "Set Me.Recordset = rs".
When this line is executed, Access crashes and attempts to restart.

Hi, i have my form open in design view and it includes quite a few fields on a tab. But when i go to open it in form view, the form is just grey and nothing appears on it. Never seen this before, can anybody help?
