Convert URL Field TO Show Images

I have a field in my database which holds the Image URL in text format for each items picture. Is there a way to make this column show the actual image, instead of the URL?

Reports :: Conditionally Show Images On Report Header

I'm producing PDF reports in a VBA routine in Access through the DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport.

The routine works great, however i have now a new requirement and i need to change the report header so to if Country X is selected in a drop-down menu, then only image X is shown on the report header; if country Y is selected then only image Y is shown on report header.

I was simply thinking to make this through the "visible" option of the image, however it doesn't work because i get error "report must be open".

i have a database. the database have a table called CardDetails in this table there is like 1000 rows.The table have a field named MedicalId. and i have a folder . it's destination (D:CardPic) . this folder contains 1000 pic has the same names as the medical ids....i need to make a report and show on it these pic's the database doesn't have a afield that contains the path.i need to auto display the images on the report depending on the medical id.

Field-type For Images?

Hi Everybody,

I have a database in mind but I will need a new field-type that would contain an image file. I don't care if the image format is jpg, bmp, or gif or whatever.

Can I store any image inside an access database, and if so how do I do this? Hopefully, I can have an inventory database that would also contain an image of each record in the database. ( I hope to store the actual image in the field, rather than "file-path" pointing to a directory full of actual image files )

Convert Text Field To Number Field In Query

As the title says, i have an identifier field which combines two codes eg. AAAAAA/1234.

I am using a query to extract the number part, however when i try to link to another query it says 'type mismatch'.

I assume that this is because the main query is based on a table where [ShipID] is numeric and the extracted data is based upon a underlying table where [PackageID] is a text field.

Is there any way to get round this?

In my form i have a field called DEPTH_KM and next to it a field called DEPTH_FT. Now i need it to auto convert the kilometers filled to feet and populate the feet field automaticlly for me so i don't have to keep manually converting it on every entry. I had it in excel (=SUM(A2*3280.8399)*-1)and it works but i need it to work in my Access database.

Memo Field Display & Convert Text When Exporting?

I use a memo field in a form. This memo field is used to store "steps" for doing something.

To keep things neat, I use ENTER between the steps so there is a blank line between each. This looks good in the form, however... I export this information (from the table) to a CSV/text file to use online. My online script requires that each record occupy only one line. But, the exported file has separated the "steps" into multiple lines just as it appears on the form.

I would like to use the HTML tag <BR> to separate the line feeds in the CSV file. I can enter these in the FORM instead of pressing ENTER, but then the form looks bad - harder to read.

Is this possible to do with code or filters or ??

I build a database to manage some events. To simplify things, let's assume an event takes place on 3 days, from 01-05-2013 to 03-05-2013.

I create a table named EVENTS.

Among other stuff, I create the following fields:
EVENT_first_date
EVENT_last_date

Then I create a query which returns the number of days the event will take place on.

EVENT_total_days: [EVENT_last_date]-[EVENT_first_date]

I use an append query to insert this new record into the table EVENTS_MAIN.

I wish to set the start time and end time for all event days in hours and minutes. I will use these entries for displaying start time and end time for each event days, to calculate daily total hours and event total hours later on.

Therefore, I wish to create a query that will display event date 1, event date 2 and event date 3, based on the number of the EVENT_total_days field, so I can set the start time and end time for each day separately.

Is it possible to "convert" or "switch" the number of the days into number of records? Can a query convert a field value into number of records?

Convert Memo Field To Multiple Text Fields?

In 2002, I set up a database with Access 97 which included a table with a memo field. Through the years, the database has moved from Windows XP and Access 97 to Windows 7 and Access 2007.
Recently, the memo data has been difficult to edit (the display will move away from the cursor, or a new record will be inserted).

It appears to be logically straightforward to convert the memo data into multiple text fields as the memo field can be parsed for dates of entry.

I am trying to create a table for income and expense [catergory] and would like the amount being entered into the [amount] field to have a negative or positive value on entering based on the category chosen.

so in my table I have

[catergory] which is chosen from a look up table ( which is either an INCOME or EXPENSE )
[amount] which is entered in the next field ( which has to return a positive or negative value based on the catergory choosen upon entering the data)

I would like to go one step further and indicate this negative value in red is possible in my FORM.

I have a multivalue text field called "Groups" that is generated through a relationship with another table called "Comments". When I set this up I left the field as a text field when it should have been a number field, and now I can't use the database with sharepoint, because the field needs to be a number field.

My Question is there a way to convert it without loosing all my data, as there are over 5000 records?

My Table with the multivalue field is called "Contacts", the field is called "Groups".

I tried update and append queries but I must be doing something wrong....

I want to filter my subform data, to only show records where field A is a higher value than field B.

Code:

This way it doesn't find field B.

Me.MySubform.Form.Filter = "A > " & MySubform.Form!B
Me.MySubform.Form.FilterOn = True

This way it seems to filter all record to the field B value of the first record.

I have a list of all previous employers for a job applicant. I can enter up to 10 but I only want the boxes to show if there is a previous position for that box. So, if there are 3 previous positions, I want to see 3 lines. If there are 10, I want to see 10. I have fields [Company_1]. [Company_2], etc. I only want company 2 to show if the person has 2 previous positions entered into the form.

I am working on a school project and am stuck on the last part. I need to produce a query for use as a report. The fields in the query are:

Building
Teacher 1
Teacher 2
Teacher 3
Teacher 4

Archive 1
Archive 2
Archive 3
Archive 4

"building" is the search parameter for the query

I need to produce a list of names of teachers, if there is nothing entered into the corresponding archive number e.g. no data in archive 1 and 3 , so show teacher 1 and 3.

I ahve a table called occupation with 2 fields, one is ID (autonumber) the othet is occupation name.

I have another table with job info from sun to mon - with 7 fields for occupation lookup. e.g. monoccup, tueoccup etc.

I have a query and I pulled these fields into it, and the occupation names showed up, then I tried to build an expression and th output should have been the occupation name, but I'm getting the occupation ID.

The join shows occupation id from the occupation table linking to all 7 fields in the job table.

How can I get the expression to output name instead of ID?

I can get a partial success when I use the DLOOKUP function along with a sequential indexed field but I am working with 10,000s of records and any subsequent query based on the results of this takes an absolute age to run.

How To Show Several Records In One Field

I have a table: Complaint

Within the table there is a field: CustomerID

There could be anywhere from 1 to 10 records with the same CustomerID.

I would like to show all the complaints for a specific CustomerID on a form in one field.

Right now I have the following Control Source Code:

=[Complaint.PartNumber] & ", ," & [Complaint.PNdescrip] & ", ," & [Complaint.Complaint]

This code will only display 1 record.

I would like the text box to look like this: (All from the same CustomerID number)

Part Number A PN Description A Complaint A
Part Number B PN Description B Complaint B
