I have an inherited database with years worth of julian dates stored as numbers (e.g. days 1-366 for a leap year). I also have some fields stored as short dates. I would like to run a series of parameterized queries on this data, some using the short data and some using the "julian dates" that are actually just numbers. I have the user enter the start and end date in short date format and would like that to be converted and held in an unbound field as a number value. So far I can get the date to appear as a "julian date" (e.g. 1/1/08 appears as 1, obviously the underlying data is still 1/1/08) How do I take that 1 and convert it to number value "1"? Thanks in advance.
In a query I would like to extract the last ten years. This is what the data looks like:12/13 (Data type = text)(Short for 2012/2013 which actually represents 7/1/2012 to 6/30/2013.)
I am able to extract the "12" and turn it into the general number 2012 using: ("20" & Left([TAXYR],2))*1..But how can I convert that to the data type-date so I can include those records in the past ten years from todays date? I was trying to use DateAdd but I think the problem is the data type and where converting to date gives me "1905" or "9/##/1905." I get why it does that, but is there a workaround? Maybe adding 39,785 days?? (2014-1905)*365
AssumptionMo AssumptionYr MAY 2014 JUN 2015 JUL 2015 OCT 2016
I need to create a field called AssumpDate that converts the month into a date field on the 1st day of the month. ex May 2014 needs to read 5/1/2014. When I use the expression AssumpDate: DateValue("1-" & [Assumption_Month] & "-" & Year(Date())) of course the year changes to the current one--2015. How can I I change the expression so that the year is based on the AssumptionYr column?
I have been trying to convert string into double number format. I am running a SQL query in VBA that returns a double number format; however my understanding with SQL queries in VBA is that they return string only. The results are showing up perfectly fine when I run the query in the query editor; however when I try using the returned value in further calculations in VBA I keep getting a "Type Mismatch" error.
I have a table a year month day 2005 1 1 2005 3 1 2006 5 1 I want to generate the associateed 1/1/2005 3/1/2005 5/1/2005 which funciton I can use to do that?
 Want code to run when only year-part of date is dirty, but it's not working. Any idea?
Private Sub DateField_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
If (right(Me. DateField, 4)) = Dirty Then (code runs at all changes) ‘If (Format(Me. DateField, "yyyy")) = Dirty Then (code runs at all changes) ‘If (year(Me.DateField)) = Dirty Then (code not running)
If DCount.... Me.IDnr = Nz(DMax.... End If End If End Sub
This must have been answered before, but I can't find it by searching so sorry for the dumb question.
I input a time in hours and minutes in a field with a Short Time format. I would like then to convert this to seconds in a field with a number format so that I can total the seconds and then add them to the results of a calculated DateDiff control to get the grand total of time spent on a project.
I need to convert the date format October 10th, 2013 to 10/01/2013 in a field using sql in access 2010,I know it has to be an update query but dont know how to start writing the query.
I wanted to assign the field "Number of magazine" with special format based on date/time format but showing only year and month in the format: "yyyy-mm".
So in property of this field in format I put yyyy-mm and in input mask I type 0000-00;;-
I also created the form based on the table containing above field and I defined format and input mask for corresponding formant in the same way like at the table.
But if I try to type date for example 2014-01 in text box of the form it comes up with the full date 2014-01-01. Why does it do like this? What do I do incorrectly?
I have a need to enter dates so that they always appear as the first of the month. These dates are used in vlookup functions in Excel and need to be constantly recorded as eg 1 Nov 06. Currently I have to rely on notes and training to make sure users only insert the date in this way.
What I would like to do is get them to enter Nov 06 only (without a day) and have that stored as 1 nov 06. I have searched for date formatting functions and nothing addresses this. Perhaps it is something that could be achieved using VB if it is possible to do it.
I have a linked database that stores date values as YYMM in text format. I have no control over how that information is kept. I cant seem to find a way to convert YYMM text to date format. Additionally I would like to add the last day of the respective month to that data.
I have a table which will contain project information, and want the ID field, which auto assigns a unique number to each record, to be formatted like this P12-001, where 12 = the last two digits of the year the record was created. I know that if I type into the format field "P"00"-"000 i get the ID number in the format I want, but cannot figure how to get the first two zeros, to be the date format.
Further, I would like the ID numbers to restart from 1 each year, so this year this first project, P12-001 and may run through to P12-063, then the first project I enter next year to start P13-001.
i'm trying to filter is a datetime value and it just doesn't whant to work.I tried to make a separate unbound text field to filter out the Datetime into year and then filter that field out with year but it doesn't work. What I did:
-I clicked on the control element of the unbound text field. -made a expression with this code : datepart ("YYYY", [BeginDatetime]) -(BeginDateTime is a table value) -After this one it keeps showing me this error : -"the syntax of the expression You've taken specified is invalid"
I would like to convert a date field to a number in a query. What I am trying to do is take 2 date fields and see how many days they are apart. For example if one date is 3/1/07 and the other is 3/1/06 I would like 365 days to be returned. Thanks for any help!
