Count Months Then Put In Year Columns

I appologize if this has been posted before I have been searching all afternoon off and on and have not found anything yet. Using Access 2002 SP3 on an Windows XP

I have a table that contains the following
name
effective date
renewal date
monthly premium
I need to calculate the following. If effective date is 10/01/2004 then multiply monthly premium by 3 for a total for 2004. Then if renewal date is 10/01/2005 I need to mulitply the monthly premium by 9 for 2005 total. I have dates that go from 2004 - 2007 I need to be able to calculate total for year by name irregardless of todays date.
Sample expectation (based on above example.)
Name 2004 2005 2006 2007
rr $12,000 48,000 0 0

I have been assigned a task to create a query that gets record from Access database by grouping it by year and then by months.
DATA ILLUSTRATION
date incidents
01/01/2007 2
01/02/2007 3
01/03/2007 4
01/01/2008 1
20/01/2008 1
01/02/2008 1
Based on the above data illustration, what I am trying to do is to get total by year and then break it down by the months
year 2007 total_incident: 9
Jan total_incident: 2
feb total_incident:3
mar total_incident: 4
year 2008 total_incident:3
jan total_incident:2
Feb total_incident: 1
I am using Microsoft Access, but trying to get the result into a web form. Many thanks in advance

I have a query to calculate the monthly depreciation for a machine for specific period of time.
My problem is how to get the number of months for each period assuming i want to start from month September 2009 till may 2012.

Simple example of what I'm trying to achieve...
Table with two fields:
read_date---read_value
--------------------------
01/01/13-----10
01/02/13-----20
01/01/14-----30
01/02/14-----40
Would like to create a query or queries that summarises the data as follows:
read_date--2014--2013
------------------------------
01/01/14----30----10
01/02/14----40----20
In words, read_date would list dates for the current year. Second column of query would give read_value for current year. Third column would give read_value for same day/month of previous year.
Have thought about using Dlookup to get value one year back, but not sure if is the best approach?

I have a report that needs to be set up in 2 columns using the school year, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, etc. My issue is this. The columns go down the page and continue on the right side for column 2 in the correct order. Is there a way to have the columns break for the school year?
I currently have this:

I have a table that has a field for month represented by a number. I would like to report by month but group by year. The report would group months 1-12 into year 1, months 13-24 into year 2, months 25-36 into year3, etc..... up to possible 20 years. Is there an easy way to identify and group the year? I was thinking of adding another column to the table and when I write the values to it include a year. I would rather do it some other way as the data is spilt and would require a lot of table modifications to distributed db. It would be easier to do it with a query or some code in the front end.

So I have a report generated, listing all my companies personnel in one column and the next column has the expiration dates of a certian training certificate. My question i would like to add some statistics to the bottom of the report, mainly how many certificates are expired, which is the ones over a year.
I have attempted to use:
=Sum(IIf([AT_LEVEL 1]<"Now()-365",1,0))
previously in excel my spreadsheet counted it like this:
=COUNTIF(C5:C77,"<"&TODAY()-365)

I have a report that I am trying to show data for the current year, but with a record count.
So, for example: I have 3-OVI, 3-Conduct Unbecoming, and 3-Did not transport for the current year.
When I run my report, it will show the above data for the current year, but in this format;
OVI-1
OVI-1
OVI-1
Conduct Unbecoming-1
and so on.
What I would like is;
OVI-3
Conduct Unbecoming-3
Did not transport-3
Total-9
If I take out the date code for the current year in my query, then I get the desired results but I get all data.
If I leave the date code in, then I get the data for the current year but I get the first example above.

I currently have a form where users can enter an "End Date", click a button, and it queries the data from 12 months prior to "End Date" entered.
Is there a way to force the query to show all 12 months, even if there are no records for a particular month? For example: if the user enters February 2013 in the date field, I would like the query to return:
March 2012
April 2012
May 2012
June 2012
July 2012
August 2012
September 2012
October 2012
November 2012
December 2012
January 2013
February 2013
...so even if June 2012 has no records, it is included in the query with a value of zero.
This is what I have so far:

How do you grab a custom Fiscal Year's values based on the system clock's date?
I am building a query where I want to see the number of closed cases based on the current custom fiscal year with the system clocks date. The report that it feeds only cares about the current FY.
I need the System Clock's FY value in this query

I have a problem to count a multi columns into one field. For example, I have a table consist of these fields (simplified version):
- id
- block_name
- handle_type (lookup: big and small)
- kernel_type (lookup: big and small)
- fruit_set (lookup: 1, 2, 3 and 4)
I want to create a query to count a combination of handle_type and kernel_type columns as one column. So the query field would shows these fields:
- block_name
- count_of_big_handle_big_kernel
- count_of_big_handle_small_kernel
- count_of_small_handle_big_kernel

I've got a table with 23 columns. Column 1 is the ID row which has a unique client ID in it. Then we've got a column called 1st_Reason and one that goes with it called 1st_Transfer_Date. This pair repeats for 2 through 10. Each of the Reason columns can have a set value, for example "First Processor".
What I need to do is create a date with months on the Y axis and the 5 different reasons on the X axis. I need to count the number of "First Processor" across all 10 Reason columns for each month. I would need to repeat that for each other reason type, but if I can get one to work I can simply change the reason type.
I'm pretty new at Access queries so I don't know how to use a count statement to pull from all those queries AND get the corresponding date to be in range.

I have a huge table with transaction dates. I need to slice and dice
this data (sum, %'s, etc), but group by FY. Our fiscal year is from
7/1 thru 6/1.
For example:
1/8/2004 = FY 2004,
8/12/2004 = FY 2005,
2/3/2006 = FY 2006
THEN . . . . I need to also isolate certain periods, for example July-
March for YTD (year-to-date) analysis and compare YTD of 2006 with that
of 2005.
What do you suggest? Many thanks.

I'm trying to add a couple of fields to the Contact database in Access 2010.
In the Contacts table, I created a field called "Sobriety Date" that has dates formatted like 12/27/1995
I am trying to add a calculated field called "Years Sober" which should be the current year minus the year in the 'Sobriety Date' field (1995 in the example above).
I have been trying to tweak this:
SUM(DatePart("yyyy",[Date]) - DatePart("yyyy",[Sobriety Date]))
but it's not working. Keeps giving me "The expression that you entered is not valid for web-compatible calculated columns"

I trying to figure out how to make this query work. I have a simple database that is being used to show employee employment information - name, hire date, salary, bonuses, etc. Everything is just about done but they want me to show what percentage of the prior year the employee was there. In other words if an employee was hired 4/20/2004 they want me to show the percentage of 2004 they were employed with the company. I've tried just about everything I can think of but nothing seems to give me the right answer. I am also showing the percentage for the current year (2005) and that works ok. Just can't figure out how the calculate it for a prior year.
This is being done in a query and we're using Access 2000.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have fields [DayOfYear] and [Year] can I somehow produce the dd/mm/yyyy from this. I know how to do it in Excel but the Asscess function Date() is a little different.
I.e. if [DayOfYear] =152, [Year] = 2014 then [Date] = 2/6/2014

I'm going to try using the year, day of year, hour & minute (24 hour clock) as a report number. It's set up in a field on a table. Right now I have....
Default Value =Format(Now(),"yyyhhnn") 'which works but not exactly how I would like
yy = Last two digits of the year
y = Number of the day of the year (1 to 366) 'can this show three digits all the time?
hh = Hour in two digits (00 to 23)
nn = Minute in two digits (00 to 59)
For instance, right now for Jan. 10th, 2012, 1306 hours the result would be 12101304 which, for all intents and purposes works, but I would prefer the "day of the year" to always be represented by three digits and not just when it hits day 100 of the year.
I would prefer to see 120101304

I have a query based on payment date which I have extracted the Year part as a seperate Field StartYear, but I want to now add EndYear which just adds 1 year to the StartDate. e.g. EndYear = StartYear +1. Anyone kow please I know i's proably simple but I keep getting syntax errors.

I was able to use the UNION ALL qry. But, when I have another file (like original2) that does NOT have all the columns listed in the UNION ALL qry, I get a Parameter value box asking for the missing columns when I run the qry.
Example:
original1IDDateGroupChristianJohnnySteve 18/5/2013A1528/5/2013B338/5/2013C2348/5/2013D2358/5/2013E5
original 2IDDateGroupChristianJohnny18/6/2013A212528/6/2013B2338/6/2013C2248/6/2013D22
The UNION ALL qry includes all the possible resources ( includes all the possible column fields Christan, Johnny, and Steve).
When I run the UNION ALL qry with the original2 file, An "Enter Parameter Value" box is displayed with the mssing column name "Steve".
Is there a way to Map the original2 table into a working table with all the columns, or use VBA code to construct the UNION ALL qry to only include the existing columns? My data has variable columns and I'm trying to avoid the parameter popups.

Currently I'm building tables and forms. My first table (called Clients) lists the details of fictional clients. My second table is for invoices.
In my invoices table, I wish to link the column for client reference (note: stored in the Clients table) to the column that precedes it. This column will list the clients’ names and is selected from a drop down list that is linked to the Clients table.
What I want to do (if its possible) is to have the respective client ref. automatically show up in the next cell once I've selected the client to whom the invoice relates?
Am I making sense? Is that possible? If so, how do I do it?
Secondly, how do I do a sum of selected columns for my “totals” column? Basically, I want to add the figures found in several cells that precede it?
