How do I create an Outlook appointment from an Access database?
Thanks for the help!!
I am very new to VBA. I found some code that will allow me to add an appointment to my personal calendar with using access VBA and it works great. It also allows me to add an appointment to another calendar created under "My Calendars" folder.
I wanted to know how to change the code in order to add the appointment to the SHARED calendar instead.
The main folder is called "Shared Calendars" which is at the same level as the default "My Calendars" folder. Under the "Shared Calendars" folder the calendar is called "Tester".
Here is the code im using at the moment: I believe I have have to change the line of code that is in red but I don't know how.
Private Sub cmdAddAppt_Click()
On Error GoTo cmdAddAppt_Err
Dim outobj As Outlook.Application
Dim outappt As Outlook.AppointmentItem
Dim olNS As Outlook.NameSpace
[Code] ....
I have been able to successfully set up code to be able to add appointments to microsoft outlook based on data within a few forms that I have. My question is this however, how do I get access to make that appointment to a specific calendar on outlook. This calendar is a shared calendar. Currently, access is just adding the appointments to "My Calendar" and I could like it to place the appointment on "HVCalendar". a version of the code I found online is listed below:
Private Sub btnaddappttooutlook_Click()
'On Error GoTo ErrHandle
Dim olNS As Object
Dim olApptFldr As Object
' Save the Current Record
If Me.Dirty Then Me.Dirty = False

I have linked a Shared Calendar from MS Outlook in MS Access. The fields that I need which are Appointment/Meeting Date and Time are not there, only creation date/time. Is there anyway for me to get the Appointment/Meeting Date and Time from Outlook into the table?
Windows 7
Office 2010
I currently can send emails from my form in Access 2000. What I would like to do is send from the form an appointment that would go into the recipients calendar in outlook. I would like for this to happen when someone checked a specific yes/no box and pick up the date needed field on my form as the calendar date in outlook. Right now when the yes/no box is selected it automatically generates a email. Any suggestions out there?
Regards,
Allen
I use the code below which creates an appointment in Outlook default calendar. I need to add a few lines to create the appointment to an alternative calendar in the same pst file. I need to choose between three calendars in which to create the appointment and plan to select the calendar name from a list on the form.
Dim objOutlook As Outlook.Application
Dim objAppt As Outlook.AppointmentItem
Set objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set objAppt = objOutlook.CreateItem(olAppointmentItem)

hi
i need to create and appointment creater.
basically i want acalendar where you select your day and another calendar for the time. this should then automatically be put into next appoint ment label for the patient.
my situation is this:
i have a table "tblpatientdata" and a form "frmpatientdata" and on that form i want to put command button which takes you to a form which contains some sub forms that choose theday and time and then you click OK and it should update the next appointment section.
i dont knw how to do this and i do not want to make it too complex but could some one help me or give me a different easier idea....
thanx
Occurs when I try using the Create Email button. I've enabled the access add in in Outlook. Same message comes up when Outlook is closed or open.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have limited programming skills but a basic understanding of databases.I want to create a database in Access that links to contacts in an Outlook pst file, and in the Access database I want to create a series of date dependant tasks or processes that I can apply to the relevant contact. The object being to to save that collection of tasks to apply to different contacts within Access.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a table called Contacts in Access:
ID Email
001 email1
002 email2
003 email3
004 email4
008 email5
010 email6
And I have a table called Data in Access:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
What I'm looking for is coding that would start with the first ID number in CONTACTS and see if there is the corresponding ID in DATA. If there is, then I want it to create an Outlook email and have:
1.To field populated with the email address in the CONTACTS table
2.From and CC fields to be my email address
3.The subject line needs to read [ID] "Request" and then today's date backward (e.g. 20150420).
4.The body I need to put some generic wording and then a table with the records from the DATA table (first 5 fields plus the headings).
5. The format of the table etc isn't important as long as it is a table format
If it's created the email I want it to go back to the DATA table and put "Email Created" in the Action column for those IDs.
I don't want the email to automatically send; I only want it to create a draft (as this data needs to be manually confirmed before sending).
If for example it gets to checking in DATA table for ID 002 (and as seen there's none there), I want it to skip creating the email and move on to the next ID.
In the end I would expect to see 3 draft emails open in Outlook ready to be sent, looking something like the below (just 001 below)?
From... my email
To... Email1
CC... my email
Subject: 001 Request 20150420
action the below:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
And the DATA table look like this (if only 001 email was created):
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant Email created
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor Email created
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant Email created
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
I will need to add more data to the CONTACTS table over time, also the DATA table will be different each day so I need the coding to accomodate for both of these possibilities.
how i could create a form that cancels an appointment i guess through a query..

Hi All,
Apologies if this question has already been asked. Im a bit of a newb when it comes to Access. I was wondering if its possible to create a input form/email in Access/Outlook in which I can send to a number of people via email that populate a Access database/xls when they reply?
Extra Info:
-Users may have a different version of office that I have.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to link access to outlook so that access can send out reminders through outlook to people regarding different information??
View 1 Replies View RelatedHello,
I am running a database in Access 2000. My code for creating an Outlook message from Access was running perfectly until my company switched us to Outlook 2003. Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to fix it?
Thanks much,

Hi
I wonder if someone could give me some advice.
I can create simple databases with Access but I've recently identified the need to create something a little more complex. My entire relational database revolves around a central table of contacts.
I have a list of contacts in MS Outlook (searchable by name, phone number, etc.), which should be the same. I want to avoid the risk of data redundancy so I was wondering if it is possible to link Outlook and Access databases in some way, so that, for example, if I was to add a contact in Outlook, it would update my database automatically and vice versa.
I'm sure this is far from simple but I'd love to hear any suggestions you may have.
Many thanks in advance
Gavin
Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if there's a way to implement a calendar in MS Access? In other words, I'd like to create a calendar that act the same way as the Outlook calendar? At first I tought about the calendar control 8.0, but we can't write anything in a square date of the calendar. So , I'm out of idea.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!
Hi, forum.... I have a linked table that was created to view info in outlook. The problem is i need to be able to view or hyperlink to the attachment in access as well, for some reason in the attachment column it give me a yes or no field value only.... any ideas?

I have searched the forums and did not see the question I am about to ask.
I have created a link table in Access to the exchange server at work. When I try to get someone to view the table I created they can not view it. When I look at the Link Table Manager it shows the link is pointing to my personal temp directory instead of the main folder in exchange. How do you link the table to a folder that all can see?
Thanks
How can I incorporate outlook and the use of contacts in outlook into my access database?

I'm really not sure about this one! I seem to remember reading about it but I can't find anything on it in the books.
Can you create a diary/task reminder in Outlook from an access database. I'm creating a service and maintenance database and the customer wants to be able to create reminders in his outlook by just pressing a button - is it possible?
Thanks,

I have a Access training database which tracks employees trainings as well as their annual recertification dates on particular trainings. Is there a way to have an email sent to the employees automatically when their recertification date is 1 month away?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a pesudo forum running on a server which sends emails automatically to a group to indicate that there is a new posting - much like any forum...
I would like to include a link in the email (automatically) that will open the Access Forum and point directly to the relevant post...
I searched the forum but was surprised to find that this question hasn't been raised before... so I'm worried? :p
I know I will get a hundred links from the Mighty Moderators now saying I didn't look properly - as my old mother used to say

Hello,
Is there a way in Access to create a database that stores (a list of) Ms Outlook emails? And then, is there a way I could drag and drop an email from Outlook into the access database?
Thanks...
