Create A Table In MS Access - Name In First And Validation Dates In Second Column
Feb 24, 2014
How to create a table in MS Office. Current table has name in first column and start & finish dates in other two columns. It is necessary to create a table in MS Access which has name in the first column and validation dates in the second column. For Example:
currently
1. White 16 xxxx19
2. Black 1 xxxx 5
required
1. White 17
1. White 18
2. Black 2
2. Black 3
2. Black 4
create a datasheet from 2 odbc linked tables which I will be exporting to Excel. The resulting datasheet will have four columns, 'Purchase Order Number' 'Stock Code' 'Delivery Date' 'Unit Price'. The information I require in the datasheet is a unique stock code (one occurrence of each stock code) with the most recent unit price based on the last delivery date for each product. The linked tables contain many Purchase Orders for the same stock codes over a time period of a number of years where the unit price has varied.
Is there a way to have multiple validation rules in one column in a table. In one column, I need the values to be in all lower case and the first three characters need to be three letters.
Hi, I'm fairly new to Access and I'm trying to figure out how to create a validation rule via SQL. I searched through the forums but didn't find anything. Hope someone can point me in the right direction. For simplicity say I have the following extremely simple CREATE STATEMENT.
CREATE TABLE GAMES ( Name TEXT PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, Amount CURRENCY NOT NULL, );
How could I rewrite the above query to specify that the only valid amounts allowed are say between 1 and 10? I'm familiar with the Constraint statement and the Check clause but I can't get these to work in Access.
I am very new with access database. Want to create table with Dates & DayName. For example, tblYear2015 with all dates from 1-Jan-2015 to 31-Dec-2015 in FirstColumn and DayName in second column as per date of First Column. DayName Should be entered automatically as per date entered in first column.
I am trying to create a chart in Access but havent done it before.
1). I have the following data:
Code CountOfType Month
Q 3 3/1/2012
K 1 2/1/2012
CDSA 1 2/1/2012
[code]....
2). I dont to create a chart where I am showing the transaction count (countoftype) in the Y axis and the code and bill_date in the Y. I want the chart to show the transaction by code and show what month it occurred. Would this be a crosstab query?
I have a table which stores multiple materials in different columns, and the analysis results for each material in the associated cell. I need to create a query which will display a new row for each material and result with all the appropriate associations (location, date, time, etc.) Is there a way to do this in a single query? Do I have to create a separate query for each material?
Ultimately, I need to create an excel file which displays each material, the analysis result for that material, and the associated site, date/time values in a new row for each material.
Am I correct in thinking the only way to have a combo box with different values in each column is to create a table and then bind the combo box to the column you are referring to if you want it to represent a value from another.
For example if I have a combo box with the words January, February etc can that combo box have a corresponding month number value in a separate column (this combo would be derived from a list) or would I need to create a table holding both the month names and numbers and then bind to the name value for selection but use the month number value?
The reason I ask is I wasn't sure if for every type of list I wanted with multiple column values, I would need to create a table.
I have a database with 5000 entries, corresponding to about 10 entries for about 500 people. Each of the entries is dated, and I need to calculate the time intervals between each person's sequential entries in the table.
One way of doing this is to create another column that contains the date of the previous entry. I can then use DateDiff to subtract one date from the other and give me the difference in days.
This approach falls down if I then work with only a subset of the entries - I would have to re-enter the previous entry dates as the time intervals would have changed.
What I really need is a way of subtracting the date from the date in the cell directly above it. Will Access let me do this, or is there a better way?
I have an Orders table which needs to be able to calculate if the subtotal is less than £10.00 then enter £3.00 otherwise, enter £0.00. I have tried... =IF [Subtotal_2] <£10.00 THEN £3.00 IF [Subtotal_2] >£10.00 THEN £0.00
Why won't it work!?  Help me please!
hi, im not a very good english speaker, so... I have a table where im gonna register some invoices, my problem is that i want to validate that the maturity date has to be major than the emission date, i try this in the" maturity date" column validation rule but doesn“t work, look:
I need to setup a validation rule to a date field in a form so the date entered must be a Sunday date. I want the system not to accept the date unless is a Sunday date, is there a way to do so? I appreciate any tips on this.
I am want to validate the data in a table column as per the data in a corresponding column in teh same table.
Ex. I have a table with column "Frequency" of datatype Text. And other 12column are in the name of the months. i.e. Jan, Feb etc of datatype "Yes/No" in checkbox format. Default value as false.
I have only 4 different values i.e. Yearly, Half Yearly, Quarterly And Monthly.
If the value is Yealy then I should able to change the value on Only "Jan" from False to True.
Similarly If the value is Yearly then I should able to change the value on Only "Jan" & "July" from False to True.
Same holds true for Quarterly changing the values only of March, June, Sep & Dec from false to true.
I know there is no more than 4 dups of each record.
what i want from this is a table that will give me a record of how many dups for each record then all the dates that they were added and the date between each record entry.
I want to create a field validation rule that requires the user to input a policy number in a standard format. The format has a fixed length of 13 with three underlying components. The first 3 digits identify coverage, the next 7 are the policy number and the final three must always be "-00".
Example: GLO1234567-00
Is it possible to create a validation rule for this ? If so, can you provide the code based on the simple example above ?
I have a table in Access database. I would like to set read only permissions to some of the fields/columns in the table. I do not want user to alter or edit some fields/columns in a table. Could someone give a solution for this?
create an expression in the Validation section to prevent duplicate entries in a field. Please view Powerpoint file on slide 1 on attachment for More detail instructions. Instructions are in simple Text and images which makes it easy to understand. I am using Access 2003.
How to find an exact match in a Access DB table using Sql Query in VB6 ?I know that "Like" keyword will give out all those rows which contain the search-for-string. But I want exact match.
Question... i Wanted to create a Graph that has a bar for each category or column that has dates.. i want it to filter to show only the dates greater than 12-31-2011 so basically all dates in 2012.. i figured out how to do a query but i was only able to do a query for ONE column at a time so i'll have like 30 querys...is there a way to do this with one query and have each bar on the graph be for each column and have the graph showing how many people have completed these after 12-31-2011.
