I have a button that when I click on it, I want it to create an Excel Spreadsheet with 5 worksheets.
Also how can I change the cell formats in Excel from Access? i.e. I have an export function in Access that exports a table into excel, however I want to change the format in Excel i.e. Make the Column headings bold.
I have a code that allows the user to select the file that they want to import, however it automatically imports the first worksheet into a specific table. Is it possible to change the code to make it import the first worksheet (or with a specific name) into one table and another worksheet into another table?
Code: Dim dlg As FileDialog Set dlg = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker) With dlg .Title = "Select the Excel file to import" .AllowMultiSelect = False .Filters.Clear
Work have asked for a lot of information to be run from Access and exported into Excel. The info they require will need to be exported into 4 Excel worksheets in the same workbook. Is it possible to tell Access that when they click on the report button on the form, it will automatically run the various queries and then put them into separate worksheets in the same book? I think this is perhaps too complex for Access to do?
I'm building a data base for my company, which is composed of items we sell. I then need these records to populate our pricebooks, which are excel worksheets, under multiple workbooks.
So essentially, I would like to have all the fields separated by vendor, series and series items, then populate the proper Excel worksheet (within a supplier's workbook). I have the know how to build a query to narrow down a particular vendor/series/groupofitems, but I don't want to be creating an enormous list of queries which have to be run each time.
I also have the know how to create a joined table which pulls the item list into the proper group, creating one large table with every vendor, series, and items. But what I'm looking for is some type of hybrid, which will allow me to export all of the items to their corresponding worksheets in one fell swoop. This will be done regularly as prices from suppliers change, certain colors are discontinued, sizes added, etc.
I'm guessing when I use the query which creates the large table with all the product that it's indexed, and that I would be able to use this to then import the data into excel/export the data to excel. But I'm not sure about this.
OK.. any suggestions as to how I get my Excel worksheets imported in Access? I have tried and tried.. and it gives me a message saying that it was not imported.. I am new at access..
I'm exporting some data from an Access Database into an Excel Spreadsheet to create a report in Excel, and I'm running into some problems with that.
The idea is I have an Excel Template with a tab to take raw data from an Access Query, and then a couple tabs that manipulate that data and a final tab to format it for reporting. Basically, the formatted tab uses lookups to find data that's been exported from the query and display them in appropriate columns and rows (producing a result sort of like a cross-tab query but where I've got better control over the presentation of the results). My end-goal is to have this data formatted, to replace all the lookups with hard-coded values data, and then to remove the raw data tab and other tabs with lookup data to have a clean report ready for printing.
It's that last step - deleting all the extraneous tabs that are no longer feeding any equations because I've copy/pasted values over the lookup equations - that's proving vexing. Everything through this point is in the same On_Click event code:
Code:
Private Sub Command0_Click() 'Note: I'm using early binding right now to take advantage of Intellisense; 'My plan is to go back and replace this with late binding once I have code that works. Dim objXLApp as Excel.Application Dim objXLbook as Excel.Workbook Dim objXLWS as Excel.Worksheet Dim strPath as String
[code]....
I don't get any error messages. I actually have a messagebox thrown up in the code to inform me that I'm getting to the right worksheets selected. (The loop is selecting the worksheets as expected. But when I open the file in Excel... all of the worksheets are all still there, including the ones that should've been deleted. Is there something I should be doing to make sure the worksheet deletion goes through?
What I want to do instead is open an existing .XLSM wokrbook delete or update the 7 sheets it creates and replace them with the new query results from access.
I love this code below because it works really well but now I have a new requirement. I have a workbook that has a "dashboard" sheet that looks at the sheets from acccess and summerizes the data. So, I'd like Access to open that "template" excel workbook and delete the old sheets and put in the new ones..The required sheets to keep are called "Metrics", "Validation" and "Mara"
What I was trying to do for the past few hours was another work around which was to have Access run this code, then excel run some code to import the "dashboard" formulas but I can't get it to copy to another workbook because it links to the OLD workbook..Here is the working code that needs modding:
Code:
Option Compare Database Public Function ExportAdvanced() Dim strWorksheet As String Dim strWorkSheetPath As String Dim appExcel As Excel.Application Dim sht As Excel.Worksheet Dim wkb As Excel.Workbook Dim Rng As Excel.Range Dim strTable As String Dim strRange As String Dim strSaveName As String Dim strPrompt As String Dim strTitle As String Dim strDefault As String
I am trying to create a database by compiling records from multiple excel sheets. however, since most of the clients still uses the excel sheets to enter records, I am thinking if it's possible to create a linked table in access from these excel sheets that are hosted on an online server.
also is it possible to merge multiple linked tables together? if they have the same field range, so they will append when the linked tables gets updated.
I had scanned these forums, but i didn't see what I was looking for. I'm new to access, my intern ship short of threw me into it. eh' but that is not the point.
I have to build a circulation spreadsheet, and my bosses would like there to be pictures for each item. Any ideas on how I could do that? Thanks for your time.
I would like Access to open an Excel file count the worksheets and then give each tab the name of the column heading in cell A1 of each worksheet. I had no problem with the code in Excel but when I tried to add it to Access I am getting an error on the WS_Count = obj.ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets.Count line. The error message is "Object variable or With block variable not set".
Here is the code:
Code: 'This block of code will cycle through each tab and name them Dim WS_Count As Integer Dim I As Integer
I am using Access 2010 and Excel 2010. I need to have VB script to export the access table 502 records by 38 fields into Multiple Excel workbooks each having multiple tabs. In the Access table each record has two fields: Div and Tab that will be used to name each workbook and each tab (sheet). There are 6 unique "Div"'s to name the 6 workbooks and there are several "Tab" names for each Div (workbook).
Note: These 6 workbooks with multiple tabs were originally imported into Access from one common folder on my desktop by this routine:
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub Command1_Click() Dim blnHasFieldNames As Boolean, blnEXCEL As Boolean, blnReadOnly As Boolean Dim lngCount As Long

Excel workbooks would take names from the "Div" field and the tab names would come from the "Tab" field in the Access table. First need to find workbook name (Div - Field) then the look for each sheet name (Tab - Field) to create 1st Excel workbook with all the sheets (Tab) and repeat the process. I think you need to approach of read the Access table one record at a time keying on the "Div" and "Tab" fields in creating each Excel workbook with the associated multiple tabs (sheets) that are written to a common folder.

I would like to know which way is the best way to import excel data from multiple sheets in to multiple tables in access.
For example data from Sheet1 -> Table1, Sheet2->Table2, Sheet3->Table3 etc...
I have tried using this: Cmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel5, "Table1", "C:Importedfile.xlsx", True, "Sheet1!"
Ironically, data from Sheet2 and Sheet3 seem to be properly imported in to table2 and table3, but some of the data from Sheet1 seems to be missing in Table1 after import.
I have a running application which I created in excel. Each time a new copy of the excel sheet is worked with, I need to create a new table in an access database, that holds part of the data coming from excel.
Can you explain, or can you point me to a manual that I can read that explains how to do this ?
I firstly just need to know if this is possible.. and if so.. if anyone has any example programs on how this can be done.
I have to create a large number of excel sheets with data from tables.
I need to have formatting (Image at the top, certain lines have to be highlighted.. etc).
Can Access export into excel with formatting? Or can I do it through VBA?
I need to have a lot of workbooks, most of them need multiple sheets.
I've never really had to work with access and excel in this way. Usually I have excel read an Access database, or have Access link/import an excel sheet.
I've never had to generate many sheets like this before.
Hello, I would like to know how to create an empty Excel file (from Access) ? I would like to name the workbook (xxx.xls) name the sheets and give the folder where to store it. Thanks in advance for help. VINCENT
I am trying to create the Excel chart see attachments (ExcelChart.jpg) in MS Access but I don't think it's possible with the Access Wizard because it doesn't allow me to use more than one data field (step 2 in the Chart Wizard)
I created the Excel Chart using a pivot table in Excel with two data fields and they are graphed simultaneously
For the Access Chart I only managed to get the "Total Delay Series" and not the "Arrival Delay Series."
Must I use Excel to make this complex chart and link it to my Access form and if so can the chart still be dynamic? My intention is to set parameters using combo boxes and then create the chart on the fly. For example currently the user sees the series for the years 2004- 2008. I want to enable the user to be to have a choice about what years (range) they want to view.
I want to run a report, I need to provide an option to export the output to an excel file or provide a print view. Where would I put the DoCmd.OutputTo command in the report to acheive this??
I'm exporting data from a database (using a query) to create an excel spreadsheet. I then import said spreadsheet into a new database. I was hitting lots of problems (subscript out of range, violating this that and the other etc etc) which I cleared up and actually imported the data. Well today I cleared down the new database and imported the spreadsheet again and got this.
the contents of fields in 0 records were deleted and 0 records were lost due to key violations.Thereby followed what to do when you get these things happening. Now to me 0 records deleted and 0 records lost means it's all worked. WRONG!! No records were imported at all.
I am using this code it is giving me error 3828 at the line marked red. Says cannot reference a table with multi-valued field using an IN clause that refers to another database. Query has fields which gets input from combo box but only one value is saved in it.
Code: Dim xl As Object ''Excel.Application Dim wb As Object ''Excel.Workbook Dim ws As Object ''Excel.Worksheet Dim ch As Object ''Excel.Chart Dim myRange As Object Set xl = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
I have an access table and I want the code that will check two columns in the table "EnvelopeType" and "EnvelopeSize" and create headers in Excelsheet automatically. In the attached workbook, like in sheet1 the headers are already appeared, I want this to be done dynamically using vba code so that if new values get inserted in EnvelopeType and EnvelopeSize then we won't have to change the code to display more headers.
Please see attached workbook named Sample and Access table. E.g.
EnvelopeType EnvelopeSize TNT 2nd Class C5 PP1 2nd Class C5 PPI 1st Class A4 Recorded A4 TNT 2nd Class C5 PP1 2nd Class C5 Recorded A4 PPI 1st Class A4 Recorded C5
With the code it should display following headers in excel sheet:
TNT 2nd Class C5 PP1 2nd Class C5 PPI 1st Class A4 Recorded A4 Recorded C5
I have a database of around 15,000 users and I'd like to create a query that I can run on a weekly basis and save the results to an Excel spreadsheet. The results need to be logical and understandable by my coworkers.
Unfortunately, the actual results of the query are not (in their raw form) logical or easy to interpret.
Let's say I have a table called "users" and within that I have:
Surname Forename FieldA FieldB FieldC
FieldA has a value of either NULL or a 12-digit number FieldB has the values are "ENABLED", "DISABLED" and "N/A" FieldC contains a value of either "1" or NULL
This means nothing to my coworkers who want each user to be sorted into a "category". As I'm running this on a weekly basis, I'd like this query to do the work for me, so I don't have to manually assign everyone to a category in Excel. Plus, of course, there is no chance of human error if the query does this for me.
Sooo... I'd like my query to categorise for me as follows:
Category1 = FieldA IS NOT NULL and FieldB="ENABLED" Category2 = FieldA IS NOT NULL and FieldB="N/A" Category3 = FieldA IS NULL and FieldB="ENABLED" Category4 = FieldA IS NULL and FieldB="N/A" Category5 = FieldA IS NOT NULL and FieldC = 1 ... etc.
I'd like the final column in the query results to simply list the category name, so I can simply copy and paste the data into an Excel spreadsheet and be done with it, safe in the knowledge that it makes sense to all.
I have a form that tracks the budget. It is a small budget. But my problem deals with req. dates and req. amounts. You will see from the example I gave you that I can input one req. date and one req.amount and my calculations shows the ending balance. But how do I make fields where the same person can buy from different vendors in one day? I want to be able to show the date and the different requisitions and have the calculation subtract from each one, thus showing the ending balance. Hope this makes since. I attached the file of the example.
So under: Date Req. I need to be able to put mulitple dates Amount Spent: Different amounts that correspond to the date. Ending balance: The ending balance will be correct when all of it is done.
