I have a table with CODE number as text. (1234-11-3456). I also have this field in a subform. How do I get the field to start at left, and also make all CAPS. Also where do I do the input mask. In the Table or the Form where it is a subform?
I have several comboxes where I'm using date/time input masks. When I go to enter data in the field the cursor is situated at the right end of the box. I have to backspace to the beginning of the field to enter the data. How do I position the cursor to the beginning (left side) of the field?
I recently found a neat little module which allows you to duplicate a right click & bring up pop up menu ( say by left clicking on a field). I find this very good for creating a nice little menu system in which I can reproduce the nice features of Access menus (I'm using Access 2002) but with a lot more flexibility.
So, I have a line of labels across the top of the form which are my top level menu items - when I click or mouse over these I want to have the pop up menu appear directly under the label. I can position the pop up menu manually by SetCursorPos(x,Y) but as my forms are Pop Up and can move this has proved to be a pain.
What I am after is something that will allow me to work out the coordinates of the left bottom of the label and then position the cursor there then drop the menu. The difficulty I'm having is converting or understanding the position of the label (me.label1.left etc) and relating that to what SetCursorPos needs.
I am having a few issues with my module code in Access 2002. for some reason every time I write some code Access is automatically making the first letter a capital so for instance [Our Ref] should be [Our ref] but it simply will not let me do it!
First I am no good with code so I need your help! I have code that tells the cursor to move to a certain field.
Private Sub Form_Current() ClaimNumber.SetFocus End Sub
It works for the most part - our problem with this is if we have the form open and we are searching on a different field say "Last name" when we click find next it finds the first one but if we click find next again it tells us that there is no records. This is because the cursor has moved to the ClaimNumber field.
Is there a way I can modify this code to say move the cursor only on a new record.
My attendance dB has some last name in lower case and others in all caps base on user input. Is there anyway to make it consistent? Also, please there will be about 250 users scrolling through the name column for attendance. What would you recommend for the most user friendly way to display names? How to create a form that would perhaps allow a button for all last name like "A- C" member name
I have done a half-dozen searches and only gotten 1 option.
There is a simple way to have the cursor at the beginning or end of a field when it arrives in a new field.
I saw the VBA code aboyt setting the length. There is an easier, simpler way to set it so that you don't have to apply the vba code to every single indiviual field.
I remember learning about it here on this forum, but now can't find it.
When I try to edit fields in a subform the cursor always jumps to the first record's first field with a tab stop. I can not complete the modification and the cursor jumps back to the first record. When on the first record and on any other field the cursor will jump to the first field with tab stop.
I have a form (Home_Interview_Form) with several subforms (AirFresheners, Pesticides1 etc), and I would like the cursor to move from the last field in one subform to the first field in the next subform on keydown. I have written the following code, but instead of sending the cursor to the first field (PestSpray) it is going to the next field (PestSprayCom) in the subform for some reason. I am using Access 2013.
Private Sub Fresh2React_KeyDown(KeyCode As Integer, Shift As Integer) Forms!Home_Interview_Form!Pesticides1.SetFocus Forms!Home_Interview_Form!Pesticides1.Form!PestSpr ay.SetFocus End Sub
I have created a button that takes the contents of a memo field and adds a new line of text at the top with the date, time and initials of staff member. So far, so good...
However I want it to end with the cursor ready at the end of the first line (to type the note) The following code does everything but ends by putting the cursor right at the end of all of the text in the memo field (instead of the end of the first line):
I'm having trouble with a field on my DB. I have a field named zip code. It has a limit of 5 characters that are only number values, I'm not having any trouble with entering information at all, it's easiest when I just tab into the cell from the previous one. However, the part I am having trouble with is when I click within the field and the cursor, let's say, is at the second character line, and I enter the zipcode 15222, it'll only enter 1522 since my cursor is at the second line.
How can I fix this so that wherever my cursor is, within the box it'll type the full 5 digit zip code? My boss is insistent on making sure that even if he clicks towards the right of the box, it should type the full number.
Looking to create two command buttons or two keystrokes sets in an Access 2007 form that will allow me to place a current date and time in any allowable field where the Cursor is presently placed. Similar to what was in Access 2000, ctl: (for the current date) and ctl shift : (for the current time).
How can I convert the lower case data into upper case data automatically while entering data without using Ucase() function, in each and every textboxs or other objects in the forms ..
Hi!In my query i'd like to format a selected field.At the moment i write it like this:MyOwnFieldName:[Table].Field I want to achieve:MyOwnFieldName: Left([Table].Field, 4) & "-" & Right([Table].Field, 4).Is this possible?Thanks for helpful feedback ;)
I have a form with text fields where I am entering customer last names and first names in different fields. Does anyone know how to return UPPER CASE letters automatically?
I need to make all my text in all my fields Caps. The users want type the text in the field and have it be caps even if they don't have the caps lock on. Is there an easy way to do this? Any help would be great!
My client wants a company name that appears on multiple forms and reports to show as font name Garamond which is fine... however, he also want the font to appear as "Small caps". In Word and Outlook, under the Font submenu, I can check Small caps and get what he wants... lower case letters are shown as Small capital letters. Is there a way I can make the same settings on labels in Access without installing a new font on each workstation that runs the database.
I have a questions database. When user is filling out the form, the following fields are required: Questions, Author, Type of Question and Answer selected. Answer is selected by clicking on the button next to the Answers. If these fields are not filled out, a user gets a prompt saying that so and so field is blank. If have a problem, it works for all required fields except for Answer. Below is my code. I have attached a screenshot with Author and Answers blank. I only get a warning about the Author and not the Answers.
Code: Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer) nullerr = 0 strnull = "" If IsNull(Me.txtQuestion) Then nullerr = 1
I have a combo with the LimitToList set to yes so I can add new data to the underlying tbl. This works fine with one exception. When I enter the data I occasionally want to enter it in all Capitals but when I select Ok to add it to the tbl the first letter is a capital & all others change to small caps. I'm a little rusty on Access at the moment so I need a prompt pointing me to what I need to change to fix my problem. I'm thinking this is a formatting problem? :(
USING ACCESS 2010..My user has reported that his caps and num locks gets switched off when entering a particular form and after testing he's right!!
I've googled this and it seems that sendkeys is/could be the culprit.I do have sendkeys in the code so how do I get around it other than not use sendkeys? Can I switch num lock on in VBA?
I am having a problem getting my query to work properly. I have read through this query section but it just got me more confused. I know some have used IIF function but it didn't work for me.
here's my code:
SELECT tblEmployee.UserName, tblODF.ODFNumber, tblQueue.Queue, tblStatus.Status, tblODF.ODFScanDate FROM tblStatus INNER JOIN (tblQueue INNER JOIN (tblEmployee INNER JOIN tblODF ON tblEmployee.EmployeeID = tblODF.EmployeeID) ON tblQueue.QueueID = tblODF.QueueID) ON tblStatus.StatusID = tblODF.StatusID ORDER BY tblEmployee.UserName, tblStatus.Status, tblODF.ODFScanDate;
I want everything to show even if one of the fields is blank.
I am trying create some code that checks if the contents of the status field in a table is "Authorised" where the ID = something specific for multiple records. If all records witht the specific ID are "Authorised" Then generate a new record in another table. Where to start, perhaps a Dlookup?
