Dcount With Filter Criteria On A Related Table?

Code:

DCount("*","[tblLeaveRequests]","Status='Approved' And #" & Format([vDate1],"mm/dd/yyyy") & "# BETWEEN [LeaveStartDate] AND [LeaveEndDate]")

The above code counts all leave with the status of approved on the table [tblLeaveRequests]. Great, but i did forget a critera.

Of the leave it is counting, I want it to only count if the employee the leave is for is in a particular location. which exists on the related table, and not the one dcount is calling.

Is this possible? or will i have to resort to replicated data in [tblLeaveRequests]

I want a query selecting records from table1 based upon a value in table2 -

table1 contains thousands of records - fields include VendorNo and VendorName

table2 contains a single record - fields include VendorSearchName (which is a "short name")

I am trying to create a query which lists all VendorNo and VendorName entries where VendorName contains VendorSearchName

eg. VendorSearchName = "Fred" will list VendorNames including "Fred Flinstone", "Big Fred" etc

how would I display this in access?So for simplicity say i have a table with 2 columns, one with names, other with numbers. I want to be able to filter by the names and say like how many numbers = 1, 2, 3....etc and find the average of all those numbers for that name. I know this can be done manually, but I am trying to do it automatically like in a form or a report. I have been able to use a report and set label text to count all of the 1s using DCount, but I am not sure how to filter for a certain name and then do a DCount?

I have an access database in which I have a table A and table B. Table A has a list of 200 website URLs. Table B has one column ID and another criteria.

I want to create a query to filter websites list which does not have values or characters from table b.

I have these values in table B that I want to be filtered out or not shown in my URL Select Query

.du
.pk
.dk

I would keep on adding more criteria into this so criteria table so adding new criteria into table B should not disturb our filtering.

Below is what I have tried but in vain and it says atmost you can atmost one criteria row in sub query

Dcount With Multiple Criteria

Not sure if this belonged in reports or queries, so I chose general. I have looked at several DCount threads but haven't quite found my answer. I want to use Dcount in an unbound textbox in a report. It counts the number of records in another table - comparison
the first part of the statement works fine ( up to 'iss'"). When i added the between date part i'm not getting any # returned in my report. I want to addthe criteria of RecDate between the 2 dates on the open form.
Can anyone tell me where my problem lies? ( if this makes sense)

I am looking to create a summery on a dataset. I have

Employee ID Duration

I want to summerise the data to calculate the number of times an employee has an entry under 20 and the calculation. e.g.

Employee ID....Count.....Sum
1234...............3...........27
1236...............2...........12

I used a DCount however this does not separate the employees. Currently using
Count Of Visits: DCount("[Duration]","Test Query","[Duration]<20 AND [Employee ID] = [Employee ID]")

I have tried editing the syntax over and over again. I have been able to run a query and get the desired result in that query; however I am unable to call that result in VBA.

Dcount For 2 Criteria Date Fields?

With a form with two fields one is a date field formatted as short date and the other is a lookup combo box that I use to lookup predefined times and is formatted as short time. The date and time are stored in the same table as date/time in separate fields. I attempted to use Dcount, and get syntax error missing operator. Below is one of a hundred that i have tried after scouring this forum and the net. I ended up converting the Appt_Time field to a text field in the table to eliminate one date field but still got no where.

I am working with MS Access 2003. I have a form (frmCalendar) with a textbox (tbDay) and a combobox (cmbLineName)

I want to count the number of records based on the criteria from cmbLineName, and show the result in tbDate. Inside the Control Source of tbDate I put in the following:

=DCount("[EncounterID]","tblEncounters","[LineName] = ' " & "Forms![frmCalendar]![cmbLineName] = " ' ")

The problem is that the result in tbDate is always 0; regardless of what is chosen in cmbLineName. I know that the record count should not be 0 for all criteria.

I have a form that is showing data from 1 table. That table has 12 different fields on it and I want to be able to filter based on selections I make in a combo box in the header of the form. The filter string must be dynamic enough to allow filtering based on 1 criteria selected, or multiple criteria selected. For example:

If I have values in filter fields 3, 5, and 9 I'd want the filter string to be created as follows:

"...WHERE field3 = field3filter.value AND field5 = field5filter.value AND field9 = field9filter.value"

If I have values in only field 7, I'd want th efilter string to be created as follows:

"...WHERE field7 = field7filter.value"

And so on and so on.

I have created some filters before but all of the different VBA syntaxes I'm using seem to come up short.

I have a report that I am trying to complete based on several queries. I am trying to count the number of records based on certain criteria and using the following DCount.

=DCount("[Calculated time]","IPG1","[Calculated Time] <= 0.04" And [Ship-to party] In ("SN00207PJZ","SN09162XXX","SN09324XXX"))

I want to count the number of IPG1 records that are under .04 and have the Ship-to party of the ones listed. I have tried everything that I can think of to get it to work but can's seem to get it to. I figure it's something easy but I don't see it.

Using MS Access 2000

I'm building a customer management database. Part of which is a table to record details of all members of the main customers family or the household compliment.

I'm currently using a DCount to work out how many people on the table are related to my client, to work out the size of the family.....

=DCount("MemberID","tblHHMembers","CustID = [CustID]")+1

Could I also then count the members of the household that are under 16 years old by looking at the DoB from the same household members table?

I realise that I'd need to ask access to calculate age at the same time as working out if they're under 16 and then count them if they have the same Customer ID - which might need a little more than this single function!

Filter Criteria

I have a form that is opened filtered based on the selection of a ComboBox based on the following code.

Now I want to futher restrict the data that is shown when the form opens by showing;
a) only those records where [DelDate] is null, and
b) only those records where [Deldate] is null or [Deldate] > date()-2

I know it has to be incorpoprated into stLinkCriteria I'm just not sure on the syntax and structure

Stock Symbol Table And Look Up Data Type In Related Table

I previously created 2 tables:

One lists all the stock symbols and company names = SYMBOL
The second table lists the purchase information for each stock = PURCHASE

I then created many queries, etc. using this data. Symbol is the key link between the various tables, queries, etc.

NOW that I understand the lookup wizard in the data type, I would like to change the symbol field in the purchase table to a Lookup field. I, of course, receive a message. I am told to delete the relationship with the other tables. If I remove the relationships and change the data type, can I then replace the relationship with out damaging all the queries and forms?

I've tried...

Me.Filter = "[Status]='Overdue' AND [deadline] < date()"
Me.FilterOn = True

type mismatch ....

I'm confused how the syntax works

does anyone know how the expression should be written.

This sounds simple, but I'm not sure what the coding is in SQL. Perhaps someone can help..

I have a query which has criteria set by a form.

The First sorts the data in the query by SalesPerson from the selection made in a Forms combo box.

The second sets the date the query filter starts at and finishes.

So far so good.

However, I have an entry in the combo box for "ALL" sales people so that the user can see all the results for all sales people.

ComboBox To Select Filter Criteria

I'm building a filter using comboboxes and I'm having trouble with two of them. One is to filter by records that are completed or by records that are not completed. The other combobox is to filter by records that have comments or by records that have no comments.
