Not an expert developer but have been distributing a database based on ADT for Access 95 .
Clients machines with 1GB of memory has forced me to move to Developer for Access 2000 .
One customer in France when trying to load is getting the message :
VISUAL BASIC 6.0 SETUP TOOLKIT
Office Systems Pack cant be installed as the languages are not the same.Install the Office system pack for the appropriate language,
What do I do?
How can I still use ADT for Access 95 (with which I've had no problems) on 1GB machines without getting the "Out of Memory" glitch?
OS = XP pro SP2 200GB IDE HD with 134GB free (NTFS) 200GB USB2.0 with 54GB Free (NTFS) Virtual Memory = 1gb (Let Windows Manage)
Trying to copy files from a external USB drive to the Hard drive.
I have done this a million times and now it decides to foul up. When trying to copy files from the external drive to the hard drive that are 4GB or higher I get an error "Not Enough Disk Space"
Both Drives are NTFS with Plenty of free space. Also get the same error when creating files larger than 4GB. It worked before and no OS changes have been made that I know of.
I have my Access database on a network and every once in a while (at least once a day), Access stalls and says disk or network error
We moved the database on a better server and for whatever reason, it stalls way more often, like ten times a day! I have to think that this new server is lacking in something
But the whole point, is it supposed to do that? There's about 10 users using my database, but rarely more than 2-3 at a time
Can I do something on my database to prevent this? I'm using those lines in my code
dim mycn as adodb.connection set mycn=currentproject.connection
I don't close the connection with mycn.close every time, could it have something to do with it? Is there something that's always running in the background which could cause this?
I'm clueless cause I've created a dummy database and placed it on the network, and I'm the only one on it, and it will still say disk or network error. Is there somehting fundamentally wrong with my DB?
Since splitting my database into a front & back end - when I attempt to run the front end part from a client PC logging in as one of the users/groups defined I get : 'Disk or Network Error' and the DB fails to open.
If I log in using the same username/group bypassing the config/startup options - I do see the Access Design view main window - but then if I attempt to open (not all) most of the forms in Form View - I again get the same 'Disk or Network Error' message each time.
Yet, if I log in as the administrator from the same workstation - no message appears?
I've been searching on the net to know what exactly does the error message "3026 - Not enough space on disk" mean when it pops up not allowing me to open my access file. Please offer your help. (This message pops up at many other cases... e.g. when saving a file - but i don't know what's the problem in this case)
I have a MS Access put into shared server to let user to use. However, when a user tried to open to use it, it prompted user that "Not enough space on disk".
I have checked the server size and local harddisk. There are also contain enough space to use. (My Access just 6MB only) Is there any user face this and solve before?
I have tried to search in google, nothing can be found. Please help!!!
I'm looking to take a screen dump of the current Access window, and save it to disk, as part of the error handling for my application. Does anybody have any suggested starting points? I've been Googling around for a while, but haven't really turned up anything concrete.
This (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240653) was as close as I really got (sending the print screen keystroke), however I still need a way to save this data to the disk.
We are looking for an Access Developer for a small business. You must be in the New York City area and willing to come in for an interview. I will check this board every 1-2 days.
I must say when I read stuff about access which is all in vb I get to thinking that I can`t call myself a database guy.
I create a lot of databases for my company which allow people to gain sales history data for customers, enter and view visits to agencies, enter data for phone calls, process product returns, access and display requested data from the main sql server, suffice to say there isn`t a department in the company which doesn`t use one of my databases.
However I have to admit that there is almost no vb code in these databases even though I`ve attended a vb course (I have forgotten all of it as I`ve not used it). It`s all done with queries and macros.
I like to think that these databases work well and fairly quickly. I find it fairly quick to work with queries and macros.
So what do people think is the big advantage of code? Am I just a lazy chuffer who should go hang my head in shame :o
I was wondering if there's an easier way to getting the "developer's extensions" so I can deploy my program as a PROGRAM rather than an .mdb file. I don't really feel like shelling out $600 for a "subscription" to MSDN. Or maybe there's an easier way to deploy the program than using developer's extensions? I'm using 2003. Thanks!
I have an Access application I need to package for redistribution. Following the instructions on MSDN, I purchased Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 to acquire the Access Developer Extensions which include the Package Wizard.
After installing VSTO, I found that Access Developer Extensions are not included. Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of Access Developer Extensions? Is the Package Wizard available for download anywhere? Perhaps someone with an MSDN subscription would be nice enough to make this available to me?
Are any instructions availalbe for creating an installation file for an Access MDE file and including the Access Runtime?
Im trying to use the developer extensions in Access 2003 to package my database with an installer, now when packaging the database you get the option to include an MDW security file however this then copies the MDW on to the users PC
and refernaces the MDW on the users C drive in the shortcut in creates. How can i get it to referance my MDW file on my server ? so when i need to make changes to group permissons ect these can be made in the MDW on the shared server
Is there anyone based in or near Nottinghamshire (UK) who would be interested in reviewing the current database system we use at our office? We are a skiing holiday company and the database is fairly complex.
It was created about ten years ago and over time has had various bits and pieces added on etc. and I am under the impression it is currently a mess!
I am looking for a professional database developer, not an amateur who fancies themselves as such! If anyone can help, please post your details and credentials and I'll give you a shout.
Hi, I have installed Access Developer Extensions and Access Runtime but still I can not see the "developer" option in menu. Can someone please help me to find this option.
I hope I am in the right forum area. I have just upgraded to XP Home and have a choice of Office systems to install. However I have Office 97 Developer Edition that I use for Access Databases and this must be installed. I can also install either Office 2000 or Office XP Professional. What are the problems with having any of these combinations and Access 97 with the developer.
I have heard that there may be licencing issues or I may have to install in a particular order. Any advice would be appreciated.
I need some good books for Access developers.. I want to what Access really can do.. I know create tables and queries.. How about create stored procedures and triggers using VBA in Access? Or any other more complex tasks in Access. I want to know more about this.
Several post in the recent past asked the question of how to package the db for distribution and how to run the Access db in computer not installed with Access. Before Access 2007, you must purchase another program for about one thousand dollar to do this. Microsoft now offer these two programs "Developer Extensions" and "Runtime" for free. The Developer Extension is a program that will package your db into an installation disk. You can package the Runtime program in the install disk for users that use computers without Access 2007. Here are the links to the MS website for the download.
I forked out nearly £600 for Visual Studio.NET Professional Special Edtion, which was advertised as coming with the Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office. Which it did. I checked the Microsoft site and they advertised the VSTO as coming with the Access Developer Extensions, so I went ahead with the purchase.
Now I've since found out that the Access Developer Extensions are yet again separate from all this, so I will have to spend more money. That annoys me but I can live with it (I've no choice really), but where can I purchase the Access Developer Extensions CD? I have scoured the web and haven't found a single source, but apparently it does exist. As an additional note, I am based in the UK.
I have an existing MS Access/MySQL app that I need an experience developer to develop further. The existing application is fairly complex, so experienced developers only.
Hi, I've finally opened the Visual studio for MS Office systems tools box and found the access 2003 developer extension CD and loaded it, I've been reading the overviews on the CD as always it sounds easy to use, how ever through experience on APPs that is not always the case. Sure enough I was right again, Can any one help?
My problem is when I open the custom startup wizard or the custom package wizard it opens a form that is suppose to have templates to choose from so to get started, How ever there are no templates in the form the form is blank. Which leaves me stuck with no options to get started. All I installed on my PC is the access 2003 developer extensions, did I not install some thing I should of?
Hi, I have created a database with Office developer 1.5 and I am having problems creating my runtime version. I have been told that the VBA included in this program wont do the job, that I must purchase a full version Visual Basic 6.0. Is this true? Thanks all
