Within the past 3 weeks I spotted a post that was based around a diary type form, It is distinctive in the way that the guy had created an image using Photoshop or something similar and used it as a backdrop to the form.
It looked pretty neat.
Problem is I cant find it again and I think its just the type of thing I am currently looking for.
i am looking for an outlook style planner in Ms Access for a booking sytem i am trying to put together, can anyone point me in the right direction of how best to tackle this please.
I have scoured the net for samples, and have come back to the most helpful place on the net for more assistance on where to go with this...
What i am looking to do is to set up something like this..
1. A Windows Server 2008 with MSEXCHANGE 2. A Windows Server 2008 with Terminal Server - my MSAccess database FE & BE is installed on this server. 3. Both servers are on the same LAN network. 4. The APPOINTMENT BOOK is in the MSAccess database and i have add the the idividual MAILBOXES in my tblEmployees. 5. I want the employees to make their appointments in the APPOINTMENT BOOK (4 above) and then the appointment must also be inserted/displayed in the employees MSOutlook calendar. 6. This works fine when the employees MSOutlook is open on the Terminal Server (2 above).
this will in effect mean that we need to open all users (emplyees) MSOutlook on the Terminal Server to insert the appointments from the MSAccess database into the MSOutlook calendar.I should think that there must be a way to insert the appointments from the MSAccess database into MSOutlook without opening all the the users MSOutlook on Terminal Server?
I have a sub form dragged into a main form that shows all existing diary entries. I have already got code for various different filters but I am struggling to wrap my head around this one. Just want the user to input two dates and then the sub form to show all the diary entries between those 2 dates. Or maybe a drop down box listing various lengths of time from today's date and showing entries within that time scale. Whatever is easiest tbh. Would I have to use date diff for this?
I have created a piece of code that filters a sub form of diary records using criteria the user has selected or entered. It was working fine when I made it a month or so ago and now is seems to be returning incorrectly filtered records, for example, I enter 2 dates to return all diary entries between the 2 dates. Yet it misses some records out that should be within the date range, and it sometimes include records that are outside the date range. I am also getting an error when I try and filter the diary entries via the supplier, "data type mismatch", here's the code that, bearing in mind, was previously working fine.
Code: Public Function filter_diary() Dim dbs As Database 'Dim qdf As QueryDef Dim Sqlstr As String Dim sqlstrwhat As String
hi friends, i have tried had to connect sub type tabels (Saving, Checking, Loan... they have their own ids...) with super type (Account...it has account id...) on the condition of account_type (either "S","C" or "L") attribute in ACCOUNT entity. how to joint them??? with query or with expression?? i expect help from you.........please. ........thanks.
I have created a table with a lookup column containing a combobox that allows multiple values. And a form to enter the data. Either on the table or via the form I can not manually type data in. I would like to be able to utilize the autoexpand property, however, everytime I try to manually type I just get the system beep.
I have a field which is formatted as currency. When a button is clicked, it shows the value of the field. Because it is a currency field, if you enter "10", it is immedatly changed to "£10.00", although when i use txtAmount.Value, it gives me the "10" value. This is especally a problem if pennies are used - if someone enters "15.10", the .Value reterned is "15.1", which makes it seem like "15.01" has been entered. How can I get the currency-type value form the field? Thanks for any help.
I have a form in which has one drop down combo box and one data entry text box.
The combo drop down box comes from a query of all active contracts from my contracts table. the second box has a unit ID number which the user enters.
All information entered in this data entry form goes to a Unit table.
My contract table has three columns: Name of contract and Type (only three types): A, B, C. (contract table) and then a column that says active or inactive. i.e
Name Type Status 113 A active 114 B inactive 115 A active 116 A inactive 120 C active 121 C inactive
This is where I am stuck…
When a user puts an unit id number and then selects from the listbox one of the active contracts for the first time is ok. For example: the user entered unit number 123 and selected contract: 113 which belongs to type A. What I need is that next time the user put the same unit number in the text box then the contracts he could choose for that selected unit number could only any of type B or type C. he/she can no longer choose other type A.
so basically for every unit id number i could have only one contract type A, only one contract B and only one contract C.
Can someone give me some light in how to start this?
I have a question about an Access form that I am creating. I have a "Due Notes" field, which has Memo data type and I create a form "Estimates" using a text box with the control source is that "Due Notes" field to enter notes when needed.
Although I have the vertical scroll bar for that text box (due to other controls, I can not size the text box too big), does anybody know how to display that text box in form "Estimates" with the data of the last text within the size of the box without scrolling down so I can start typing for the next entry? Do I make sense to you?
Please help and let me know if you know HOW. Thanks so much in advance.
I wanted to create a field lookup with values that I specify, not on the table sheet, but on the form. User can click on a text box or combo box and can select a list of value that I specify, not values that are listed on a table but ones that I type in, in the form.
What i want is to have a combo box on a continuous form that as you type it filters the Query it is based on using a Like *. and drops downs so the user can see the updated list after each key press? Is this possible?
I have an application (2007 accde) that has been working for some time, this line specifically:
Application.FollowHyperlink Me.txtAttachment
On one users PC (XP Pro SP3), this has worked from day one. His PC got infected to the point that I had to wipe/rebuild it, and suddenly this code throws a warning and then an error. The warning I could live with (it's the MS Office "some files can contain viruses..." warning). However, after clicking on OK for the warning, I get an error that says "Can't print form image to this type of printer". Doesn't make sense, as this user has the same default printer he had before, plus I tried with a different default printer.
if I navigate to the file location on his PC I can open any of the files, so I don't think it's a permissions issue. The code works fine on my PC and a VM with a different OS, and it still works fine for other users.
I have a form that I am trying to add some yes/no fields to from my table. Whenever I add the controls to the form and attempt to open the form in form view, I receive the dreaded error: "Type mismatch in expression." I can't figure out what is causing this error, or where to look.
Attached is my relationships report. The yes/no fields I am attempting to add are located in tblRelationshipToBICs, tblIndustryClassification, and tblTypeOfBusiness. All of the fields (except pk) in those three tables are yes/no and I need to add them to my form.
I have a table with a field with names set to text data type and i want to change it to number data type but when i do it in design view the data get lost. I want to know if there is a way to convert the data in the field as number type and keep the data in the field.
I am mid way through a Access db and have a solid idea what i want from a form. The idea is for a rota display and edit form.
a tab control with 5 tabs (-2 weeks, -1 week, current week, + 1 week, + 2 weeks) and when the user clicks it lists all the employees (Employee Table) with any found rota entrys (Rota Table) populating into a text box type table with employees information blank where no rota information has been entered.
then the user can edit / add shift information from that table and hit save.
the main rota information is inputted by an excel import but this is done once a month and adhoc changes will be needed (holidays absence etc)
the only thing i found like what i want is a continuous form (which ive never used before but been told that wont go in a tab control)
How i would accomplish this (code snippets - doesnt have to be detailed just the fundamental functions so i can add modify to suit the information the sql's i already have its just the form controls.)
I recently made a new version of our database complete with forms, querys etc.. using Access 2010. It looked good and nice, but we encountered an unexpected problem. In all forms that contains memo-type fields quick filter is not working (there is no lists, checkboxes etc..). My users really like quick filters and are understandably irritated. I would understand if this disappearance would affect only memo-type fields, but it affects ALL the fields.
I also know that there are problems with memos in Access 2010. I have tried to make new forms, but every time I add memo fields quick filter stops functioning. I have also tried to change properties, options and what not, but to no use. In older versions of our forms this feature works just fine, but they were made in older version of Access (don't know which since oldest ones are from year 2003). Television
I'm receiving an error indicating there is a data type mismatch when running a query named qappInventoryTakeOn.
Data is entered into the Inventory Transaction Form. If the transaction type is "Take On", when the update button is clicked the record will be saved to tblInventoryMovements and then qappInventoryTakeOn should run to update tblInventory, but I keep running into the aforementioned error.
I am experiencing a problem in MS Access 2013. I have a form which was working just fine until now. It has form labels in Calibri font and their font colour is one shade lighter than black. Today, I changed the font colour of the form labels to be Automatic - black (shows as 'Text 1' colour in the form properties). I did this in Design view.
I find that when I switch to layout view, the font of the labels appears as Century Gothic. This is the font that appears in the Form view. So while the font colour is correctly changed, the font name is not what I had set in the Design view. When I go back to the Design view, and change the font colour back to the original colour which was one shade lighter than black (Text 1, Lighter 50%), the font is correct in the Layout view and the Form view (Calibri).
So it seems that there is some sort of binding between the font colour (black) and the font name (Century Gothic). When I change the font colour, the font also changes. When I restore the original colour (one shade lighter than black), the font Calibri is correctly retained.
I posted this on the end of the audit trail thread but nobody was really looking at it. I have used the script for the audit trail, and when I start changing any of the records, it comes up with the error:
13 - Type Mismatch
When I ctrl - break, and debug, it highlights the last line of the script:
Hi all, I have a problem with the following piece of code:
Private Sub cmdCautare_Click() Dim strSQL As String, strOrder As String, strWhere As String 'Select Case Me.cmbTipVersus 'Case 1 'If Me.cmbTipVersus = "" Then strSQL = "SELECT tblDosare.DosarID, tblDosare.DenumireDosar, tblDosare.CodDosar, tblDosare.DataDosar, tblInstante.Localitate, tblStadiu.Data, tblStadiu.Stadiu FROM tblInstante INNER JOIN (tblDosare LEFT JOIN tblStadiu ON tblDosare.DosarID = tblStadiu.Dosar) ON tblInstante.InstantaID = tblDosare.Instanta" strWhere = "WHERE" strOrder = "ORDER BY DosarID" If IsNull(Me.txtDenumire) Or Me.txtDenumire = "" Then Else strWhere = strWhere & "(DenumireDosar) Like '*" & Me.txtDenumire & "*'" End If If IsNull(Me.cmbStadiu) Or Me.cmbStadiu = "" Then Else strWhere = strWhere & "(DenumireDosar) Like '" & Me.txtDenumire & "*' & " And " & (Stadiu) Like '" & Me.cmbStadiu & "*'" End If DoCmd.OpenForm "frmRezultateCautare", acNormal Forms!frmRezultateCautare!lstRezultate.RowSource = strSQL & " " & strWhere & "" & strOrder 'End If 'End Select End Sub
And on this line strWhere = strWhere & "(DenumireDosar) Like '" & Me.txtDenumire & "*' & " And " & (Stadiu) Like '" & Me.cmbStadiu & "*'" i have an error message type mismatch. If i do the search only with the first text box the code works hjust fine but if i make the search w.r. with the second control (combo box cmbStadiu) the error appears. If anyone can help i will appreciate it. Thank you all!
When exporting a table to excel is there anyway to presever the data structure - ie a text field of length 30 will only take text length 30, Interger would only take integer and date would only take date etc, etc ,etc.
