My database has a form with a combo box where the user can select whether the record displayed is "Current", "Sold", or "Withdrawn". I would like to set up the form so that when the user selects "Sold" or "Withdrawn" from the combo box, all other controls on the form are locked and disabled (ie. can't be changed).
What's the best way to do this?
I have a problem with formating controls in a form. As a example, I inserted a tree view control and adobe reader control. After I've resized them manually in a design form, I switch into form view and they both resize automatically to their own size (don't know where it gets from).
In the result, I can't obtain the required width and height. How can I make them resizable to my own preference?

I got the following Switchboard example somewhere else, and I do understand the code, up to the point where I want to make a change but can't :mad:
The Navi buttons on the right can be chosen by the user to display the different tabbed pages. However, I want sometimes that some of these buttons are disabled at runtime.
I cannot get the right syntax for doing this. I've tried Me.btnPage1.Enabled = False but that just does NOTHING!
Could someone please have a look at the attached DB (frmSwitchboard and the code behind it) and tell me where I am missing something? That would be great, thanks!

I have a form where the user selects a client from a combo box.
Doing so populates 4 controls with info about the client, using the Exit function of the cbo box. The Record Source of the form in question does not store this info; it comes from a different table.
This works fine.
When the record has been saved and I come back to it, however, those four controls do not display the client's information, since the combo box hasn't been exited.
What's the best way to get the form to repopulate those controls without having to reselect the combo entry?

On my data entry Form, I have a Combo Box [Condition] and five tab controls. Each tab has as many as 10 controls on it. The purpose of the Form is to populate a table. My questions are:
1) Do I still need to use a subform on each Tab or leave them as-is? i.e. the 10 controls are on each tab
2) How do I make the value of [Condition] transfer focus to the appropriate tab??
What I am trying to do is, for example, I have 2 combo boxes, you can select a value in the first one and search and your results match the criteria, or you can select a value in the first AND second one and the records dispalyed will match the first AND second combo box criteria.

The form carries data on wholesale price which I would need to hide if the customer would like to see a picture of the required spare part.
Is it possible to have a button to temporary make the wholesale field non-visible? Or would it be better to click on a button to open a new page with just the picture of the selected part and the retail price, if so what is the best way to achieve this.

I have a form which I want to disable the close button. On the properties of the form I set Close Button option to 'NO'. When I open the form the form close button is disable, but as soon as I maximse this screen, the close button becomes enabled again. Any Ideas as to why this is happening and how I can disable this button comlpetely on this form?

This is based on a query, where users enter a parameter (PolicyNumber) and this returns only the records which match the PolicyNumber in a form view. I have also added basic navigation buttons to move between all records with the same policy number. I have a problem in that I can't disable the option to add a new record in this form once people navigate to the end of the records.
The user clicks a 'search' button, manually inputs the policy number, and the records are returned in form view. The code for the button is as follows:

I then have a a subform which has some tabs, one of those tabs contains a subform called frm_Bans.
If the AgeCalc field is <17 I want to disable the subform frm_Bans.
I have frmIncident that has a 2-column combo box (cmbIncidentType). Column (0) is IncidentType, Column (1) is YES/NO. This combo box feeds from a Query and currently has about 15 "types" of which 4 have a "Yes" tied to them, then rest "No".There are situated on a TabControl (tabIncident) with 5 sheet tabs. If the Incident Type selected in the Combo Box has a corresponding "Yes" in Column (1) then all 5 sheet tabs need to be visible. If it is "No", then only three of the five are visible. When I open the form is will set the proper sheet tabs that need to be visible, however once I cycle to the next record, or select a different Incident Type, even one with a "YES' in column (1), it will only show the (3) sheet tabs. I can never get it to show all 5.
In the code, the only (2) sheet tabs that need to visible = true or visible = false are shown, starting with "pg".
I am wanting to grey out/disable a field on a form based on entries in two other fields being the same. One of these fields that contains the data to be referenced in on a sub-form.The form is called 'Payment_Information-Form', the field to be greyed out/disabled is called 'SUF A Paid?'

how to make my form controls change size / position as my form is resized / loaded on a computer with a different resolution. Several of the tutorials out there suggest putting code on the "on resize" property of the form. When I looked at the Northwind database to try to mimic their code however, it looks like they must be doing something different as there is no on resize code under the form properties and I was unable to find the code they do use.

Recently I designed a form with several controls including both TextBox and Combox. Before I submit data by clicking the button, I use VBA to validate the values of those controls (textbox and combox). If the value is not valid, the system will eject a msgbox and automatically set the focus on that component. In order to tidy the code, I use a GoTo statement, which refers to a group of code to display the message due to the value of parameters
But it seems VBA doesn't recongize the control I set through the parameter.
The code as the following:

I am new to Access and have not used VBA.
I have searched the forum on this, but I can't find an example of this problem.
I have a data entry form with a two-page tab control. One is for company info and the other for contact info. The recordsource is a query based on the two tables. Initially I had the page set up as a rather large form with a subform and decided to convert to the cleaner looking tab control (I used copy and paste to transfer the controls).
This form worked initially, but now I have changed some setting so that it doesn't work anymore: I can enter data properly on the first tab, but not on the second.
I have tried changing the various form properties but I must be missing something obvious. All my tab-less forms work the way I expect them to.
What I don't understand is why one tab works and not the other.

"MS Office Access cannot create any more controls in your form/report. If you have deleted controls from this form/report in the past, try renaming the form/report and then add more controls to it"
I tried renaming the form already. it didnt work :confused:
I tried to create a new database (i copied all the tables, queries and forms into the new database). it didnt work.

I have few forms that look fine when in Design view, but which appear as plain grey screens when opened in Form view. These were working perfectly (i.e. visible in both views) until about half an hour ago.
The only things I have changed are some of the calculations behind certain fields.
Any thoughts?
I have a number of list boxes that dont show up in the VBEditor under the form name.
To be more specific, these controls do not show up in the drop-down list on top of the code window. If I try to assign an event procedure through 'code builder' to these controls, they refer back to a pre-existing module instead of the form under "Access Class Objects".
I have tried repairing and compacting the database to no avail. Can someone guide me? Please ask for more info if you would like some.
