I was able to get the Query set how it's supposed to be.I now have the SQL for that Query and I would like to use that to display the information on a web page. I need the information to be constant on the page...if the database is updated, the information that reflects on the page needs to update.
The database resides on my standalone server, and is opened from that location. (I'm using XAMPP to create a standalone server in a sandbox environment...
I'm using a web control to display a page. I want to have a code that can copy to a field in that same form, the html source of that page that is displayed in the web control. How I can do that?
If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?
I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.
I have a data access page needs a filter by a dropdownlist, the dropdownlist used is a html control and I use javascript to filter the data programmaticlly in the onchanged event of the control.

My problem is, when this statement runs, the page refreshes. But I don't need the page refreshes, it set the dropdownlist text to the default text, not the value user select. The browser is IE7.
Can anyone help?!? I need desperately to display a web page in a form but when i insert the browser i cant find where to put the URL in order to display the webpage..........!!?!?! HELP!!?!:confused:
The past few days I have noticed the Access database that I am using for development on a new site has been having problems. I am unable to locate what is going on but it seems as though the ASP page can't access the database, or if it its super slow. It just sits there and times out.
Anyone have any ideas on what might cause this? I have a support ticket into the server admin to have him check it out... just wondering what you all think?
I am trying to do an auto time stamp in a data access page without having to go to new record. What I am doing is farming out parts of a record to different departments, and I want to time stamp each time each department performs their query, but I want to be able to display the data for the department, and store the timestamp in the original table.
Everything is stored under the table [Appointments] and different departments enter certain things. For instance, Reception gives the customer a ticket # which they enter into the database based on the query for the customer appointment. On the data-access page, I want them to be able to see their check in time. I am able to do this with an expression, but I can't store it in the field. Here's what I have:
Expr1:Now() (this is in the query)
In the data access page I display Expr1 with no problem. How do I get the field [Reception time stamp] to equal Expr1? When I try to do it in the query, it treats it as another expression and doesn't store it in the field (Reception time stamp = Expr1)
Is there a way to assign a field the value of an expression in queries or data access pages?
In other words, for the field I have named "Reception Time Stamp" is their anyway to plug in the Now() value when I do my query? Not search for Now() but have it show Now() when I use the query in a data access page without having to create new record. I know how to do it when you time stamp it with new record, but how can I do it with a query that pulls up an existing record that more info is being updated on it.

Everybody will be entering data on a data access page using internet explorer, which makes this more tricky, as it would be easy to do using forms. So here's how it works. Appointments enters customer information, appt date, appt time, and account number.
Reception pulls up by date and name(queries) the appointment, and then enters a ticket number (Like taking a number to be waited upon) After they enter this and write this ticket number, I want an auto-time stamp to be saved under the appointment table for reception time stamp.
Then, when their number gets called, the cashier pulls up the patient by ticket number(queries) and collects money from the customer. After they write the amount they collected, I need an auto-time stamp.
The reason I need to auto time stamp is so I can calculate time difference from the customer walking in the door and going out the door. The main reason this has proven difficult is because I am doing all data entry on data access pages, and everybody will be using internet explorer. Another reason is because almost all info is being saved under appointments, and each department only enters a couple of things towards completing the appointment record.
There are two pages in a word document. All the pages have same headers as attached in word document "Capita.doc". I want to display that header on just first page and on second one page, I want to display watermark stored in "J:PAP107.jpg". The following code displays same watermark on all the pages i.e "J:PAP107.jpg" but I want to keep the header as in the attached word document on first page only and display watermark stored in "J:PAP107.jpg" on second page.

I am working on a change control database where the users can enter a new version for the software they just released and send out a notification to the appropriate persons. I have a form where the user can select a combobox to pick the software version, which is bound to my "Releases" table. From the software version I use a DLookup in VBA to change the value of a another unbound text box using:
This all works fine when I'm entering data in the form, but if I want to print the form, the unbound text box on each page is only calculated from the first record. The same thing happens if I build a report with the same fields and code.
For example: In print preview the text box on page 1 should say "Cat" based on the current record and the text box on page 2 should say "Dog". However, they both say "Cat"
How do I get the text box to display the new value on each page?
My boss and I are in a jam. We have been using Access to run a reporting process, but one of our tables will exceed the maximum fields allotted this month. Our thought, dump the table into SQL Server and use the GUI interface provided in Access Projects.
Unfortunately, the query designer seems to have a few drawbacks. The one that effects us the most is in using UPDATE queries where more than one table is used to determine records to be updated. In attempting it, we get the message: "The designer does not graphically support the Optional FROM clause SQL construct".
Now I know we can manually create Update Queries, but we often need 1,000+ in a short period of time. Manually punching in all the fields involved and other code just isn't timely.
Question: Is there some alternative, service pack or anything else that would allow us to graphically create these Update Queries using Access Projects or even SQL Server 7.0? I would hate to have to scrap all the work we did over something that seems so minor.
I have saved query object named qrySearchBill. I wan to call this query through vba and display the result in a subform named subQrySearchBills in datasheet view. Here's how I want it to work:
When the main form loads, I want all unfiltered records to be displayed in the subform initially. The user may then decide to filter based on date range, so he enters startdate and enddate parameter values in their respective textboxes in the main form. Then click search button to run the saved query based on the date range parameter taken from the textboxes.

This code works fine except that when the main form loads, a prompt window appears to ask for the value of dateStart and dateEnd. I don't want it to prompt because it's suppose to get these values from the main form's textboxes (txtStartDate and txtEndDate respectively), plus it should initially display all the unfiltered records.
I have a report which includes several subreports. There will be times when a subreport prints partially on one page and completes on the next. I don't always want to break to a new page with this subreport. However, I would want to break to a new page if the subreport cannot fully print on the current page.
I have a report that lists states and cities within the states. When a state name happens to be at the end of the page the individual cities appear on the next page with no State heading. I solved the second page problem by setting the "repeatSection = Yes" in the Section Header (though I haven't shown that in the example below).
But the previous page (which just shows the State Name and no cities looks dumb. Is there some sort of solution.?? (Actually I would also like any State that continues to a next page to not just have the state name but something like " Colorado (Continued)" Is there anything I can do in VB to make a page break if the section is going to print but therer isn't enough room for one detail line?

I have a photo (jpg format) which store OLE field in a table. But, I would like to display it in a Data Access Page. But, I have being prompt the following error: "You tried to drop an OLE or long binary column onto your data access page. There is no HTML control which binds correctly to this column type."
Can anyone tell me how I can get my data input web page to load with a new fresh input page. At present, each time a user opens the form, it displays the last record that was input previously.
When using a form, the record properties can be changed so that when the form is opened, it displays a new blank record to fill in. I cannot find any properties in the web page design view that allow it to be set to startup with a new blank page rather than the last record that was entered.
So i have made a Data Access page using the wizard from a table called Employees I want the Access page to have some sort of search button so that they can quickly find an employee, rather than scrolling through all 100 records.
I'm somewhat new to MS Access. I'm trying to allow a user to update, add/delete records through a data access page. I am able to view the query, navigate through the results, but I am not able to make any changes. I get a pop up message saying the record set I am using is read-only. As far as I know, my table is fully editable. Anyone have input on this issue?
I have created a Data Access(DAP) Page to append the sales order received on phone. The Data Access Page is linked to query which has autonumber field to store the Sales Order. I have a textbox on DAP for Sales Order No. The autonumber generated in Table is different from autonumber generated on DAP. I want same the autonumber on page and in table.
Can you allow the users to update and edit the data access page and actually change the data in the database? Or is it just a view only? If possible I need the user to be able to update the database through the data access page.
I have a database for my staff to enter data into via a data access page. It works on all windows xp os computers. We do have staff working on Windows 2000 os computers and it is not working appropriately.
The database was created in Access 2003. When the user pulls up the page, none of the drop down menu's populate. I try to trouble shoot it and access states that it can't make a connection to the database. This is only on Windows 2000 os. Windows XP computers work fine.
I have built a BD with several date fields (on a form) that were set up with a simple command button for "today's date" to be entered.
I'm attempting to set up a Data Access Page that is very similar and easy to use. I need help setting up command buttons that auto-populate text boxes.....if this isn't the best route, I'm open for ideas.

I have a database that I'm trying to create a data access page for. The database allows people to put in their information and register for a conference. This part works fine. I tried using the data access page wizard to create the page. I can't seem to get the connection string to point to the database so that when I upload both to my FTP, they will work together. I have successfully uploaded the access pages to the FTP, but it will only update the database if it remains on my computer. How can I set the location to be relative to the data access page? (eg - DB1.mdb is on ftp in /_private, data access page in same directory on ftp and looks in its own directory).
Or, maybe the problem isn't this straight forward? Thanks, --Jim

I would like to make DAP that would have one text field and action button, returning a result based upon my entry in that text field.So when button pressed Can someone give me some sample ASP or VB code for doing this?
I have created a very simple Data access page and saved in in a folder on my computer, I can open it from MSACCESS. But when I try to opent it directly from where it is saved here is what happens:
