Display Multiple Images Per Record Or A Form / Subform
Sep 27, 2011
Is it possible to display, in either a form, multiple images that are dynamically linked? Can they all be displayed at once 1 to many images, either by using navigation bars or scrolling through a subform? The links would be stored in another table within the same database and not as hyperlinks.
Conceptually it would be like scrolling through multiple records on a subform with images rather than alphanumeric data in fields.
Would like to know if this is possible and if so in what versions of ACCESS.
Is there add-on software that would make this possible.

I'm trying to make a field specific image on a tabular subform, so a different image appears on every row depending on the field information.
Currently my code displays the same image on every row depending on which subform row is selected:
Code:
Private Sub Form_Current()
Dim imagepath As String
imagepath = GetImagePath & Me.Exercise & ".jpg"
If Len([Exercise]) > 0 And Len(Dir(imagepath)) > 0 Then
Image26.Picture = imagepath
[code]......

Am trying to display images on a form in a split database. I add the attachment field to the associated form's table and add the attachment control to the form but cannot get the image(s) to display on the form (the control remains blank). I can add the image(s) in table view (and display them) but double clicking on the form control also does nothing.
I think I must be doing at least the basics correctly as if I try the same thing to an earlier, non-split version of the database, all works as expected. Are there additional steps required to do this thing in a split database?

Could anyone help please.
I am a total novice with MS Access (2002) and coding so I am trying to learn by adapting the Northwind sample.
So far, one thing has completely stumped me and that is controlling images. I understand the benefits/pitfalls of storing images in the database and have concluded that it will suit me better to link my images via a text field.
What I am trying to do is add multiple images to the Northwind Employee Form. I have followed the help file and I can get additional images to display on the form, but I can not get the additional images to change for each record. The MS Access help only covers having a single image per record. I've concluded (right or wrong) that the Event Procedure is where I need to be experimenting, but I've had no luck so far.
Can anyone tell me if I can modify the Event Procedure in the Northwinds Employee sample to cope with multiple images, or is there another way?
Excuse me if any of my terminology is wrong... I really am new to this.
Thanks for any advice.

Hi All
I have been looking at other thread but i havent found anything that is similar to my situation.
I have a stock table of products and i want to display an image of each product based on one that is selected at that time. All the images are in one set folder. I need to find the image based on the product code and adding the extension ".jpg" which i have done. I do not have a path and image name field as i am using a table imported from ODBC. However not all the images are present so i need the database to show the image if it exsists and show a "no image" if it doesn't
Is this possible and how would i go about it
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Martin

I'm trying to present a little thumbnail image beside every record in a "continuous" subform after a search has been made.
How do you think I should achieve this, please?
Thanks!!
Johan
(PS.
I have tried the following:
1. Tried to make a Image and on Form Current() update the image from a field called FileID.. The problem with this design was that EVERY record in the continuous subform changed to the current records image.
2. OLE object as a field for every record and a thumbnail inserted in that field. I think I can get this working. But I'm afraid that the database will explode in size. The thumbnails are about 3-4-5 kb.

I have a subform that displays three records for a single day in datasheet view. I want to display the most recent 2 days' records (six total). Re-sizing is not working. I'm guessing there's a simple solution, and I've searched for a post dealing with this but no luck. How can I do this? Thanking you in advance.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes.
How do you display an icon or image in a field in a subform in Access2003?
I tried inserting an image into a field with its data type set to OLE Object.
This doesn't work. I insert a bitmap or icon file (*.ico) into the table. When I open up the subform the field displays the word "Package" for Bitmap image".
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you :D

Im sure this must be easy to do (but cant do it myself...)- how do I set a continuous form subform to display the last record when a new main form record is opened? Whatever I do, the continuous subform displays the first record and I have to scroll down to get to a new record, which is getting tedious.
Thanks

Only just started happening, with no explaination! Only one subform out of 5 shows as just background space until a choice is made from a combo box and then the thing appears with the record. WHY?!?!?! I HATE ACCESS... It's rubbish!! Apologies for my outburst...

I have a form that contains a number of tabs, each tab then contains a subform. The basic gist is that there are clients and each client chart needs to be audited to make sure that the every clients chart has all of the correct information in it. So if for example, each client needs an initial treatment plan, there would be a tab called Initial Treatment Plan that would contain a subform (continuous form) displaying all of the clients that are missing this information.
I would like to display the number of records that are being displayed in each subform in the tab next to the name to make it easier for the auditor to know how many which tabs have content to be updated. For example, if there are 10 clients that are missing their initial treatment plan, the tab would read "Initial Treatment Plan (10)".
I was able to get a total number of rows in datasheet view, but I don't know if there is a way to have that field as a hidden field in continuous form view that can have its value displayed in the tab.

i've looked but can't find the answer!! which is unusual as this forum covers everything.
i have a field [photo location] with a hyperlink to a folder within which is a number of images. at the moment i have 2500 folders and its growing daily. the action i want when the 'photo location' field had got focus or when clicked is for the photos within the folder to open [not within the form itself] - either in seperate windows or preferably all together. i am using irfanview to display the images but am easy on this point. i do not want to give each photo its own hyperlink because there are thousands of them. any suggestions as to how i should do this?
thanks

I'm creating a database for my inventory. For now, my database have two tables namely tblSupplies and tblDetails. I have a main from (frmMain) and a subform (subDetails). On the main form i have a combobox (cboSupplies) and 5 textboxes, the cboSupplies and the five textboxes are unbound. If I select a value in cboSupplies it will populate the rest of the textboxes-OK.
What I want to accomplish is that when I select a value in cboSupplies it will grab all related records from the tblDetails and populate these records on the subform (subDetails).
SuppliesID was used as the link field from mainform to subform but its not working. Please note that SuppliesID field in tblSupplies and tblDetails has a One-to-Many relationships.

In Access 2010, if you have a form with a subform in datasheet view, and you move the focus away from the subform, how can you tell which record(s) on the subform are selected?
When the subform has the focus, the selected row is shown with a blue/grey tint. But as soon as the subform loses the focus, this disappears and all rows look identical.
Its an issue as I have 2 datasheet subforms on my main form, with the 2nd showing records related to the record selected in the 1st. But as soon as the 2nd subform receives the focus, it is impossible to see which record in subform 1 was selected.
I have tried conditional formatting, but that does not work.

I have a table which contains a number of records, each with a load of different columns. However, the new way of doing H&S splits Risk Assessments into Short and Long COSHH forms. Each experiment only has one Short form, but can have from 0-20 (or more Long). I need a way of adding a box to the form that will return all the associated Long forms for that particular record. I have tried using List Boxes and Combo boxes as well as creating a separate table for the Long Forms, but it isn't doing what I had envisioned.
List boxes appear to do what I want, however they just dump all of the results from the selected columns into the table. I only want the data for the specific record in question. For example, my first record has 6 Long forms, but a list box basically just pusts a snapshot of the table in there rather than the specific results.
All the Short and Long Forms have to be hyperlinked to the associated documents. I have successfully done this for the Short.

 Hmm how should I put it? I want like to create a form so I can show 8 to 10 records at a time on a single page (instead of using continuous form); so when I press the next button, the next set of 8 records will be show on the next page.
Is it possible to do that with Access?
Thanks,
Jason

I have a main form which displays the results in the subform.
My requirement :
I have 1 main form and 2 subforms in that form.
I just wanted to have a get focus function on my 1st subform and needs to display the focusing result in the next 2nd subform.
In Detail :
I had a main form of search boxes Author, Published, title
If you search for 1999 in published text box then it will display all the results whose published year is 1999 along with those respective Author and Title in the 1st subform
In the result 1st subform if an ID is selected by the cursor then that entire row needs to be displayed in the next 2nd subform (As of now I wanted only 2 column details of the focussed result).
1st subform needs to display all the searched results (It was done and it works fine)
2nd subform needs to display the selected results (On Focus) of 1st subform.
How to deal with the 2nd subform linking up with the 1st subform.
Attached is the file. How to proceed further in getting done with the 2nd subform.
MForm is the main form and Main is the main table
