I've tried to find this on my own, but without luck. I have a Microsoft Access form that I've build. The data is pulled from tables I built. There is a "User" dropdown, an "Email" field and a "Phone Ext." field. I'd like to set it up so that when the "User" dropdown triggers an On Change event, the "Email" field and the "Phone Ext." field automatically update with the appropriate data (all from the same table). Can anyone help me with this?
What I want is in the combo box, I have a couple of options, say 1,2 and 3. And I want the combo box to come up with different color when different option is selected.
I thought I have found out a way, with the following code to onClick:

The problem is, it's being shown on a continuous form. And it changes the color on all the records. not just the one I am on.
I have a query (qryGetRemoteStuff) like this:SELECT * FROM Table1 IN 'k:projectssomedatabase.mdb'I have several databases where i use this technique. I don't want to link these tables to my database. According to the properties list, "Source Database" is used to store this path to my remote database. So far so good. When the path changes i am in a lot of trouble, that is why i want to change the path of this query dynamically. I don't seem able to change this property.
Is this possible? How?

I am stuck. Is there any way around? I have placed a button to the datasheet view of the form to take users to PivotChart view. I can change the chart title from the code of that button. But I can't prevent users from using the built in ribbon button for pivotchart view, so I need to run this code from an event.
I have a subform called "Earthwork". I also have a query called earthwork200 and I need to dynamically transfer data from the earthwork to the query based on a certain column.
for example, the earthwork column i am using to transfer data to the query is "Desc" (the name of the column). How do i get data to dynamically goto the query as I click on a new item under the "desc" column?

I have a query that contains all the possible data that my users will wish to get data from but I want them to have the option to show/hide particular columns to make the query ad-hoc.
I have some code that copies my query to another of a unique name during the course of their Access session so they end up with a query with the name 'ABC' for example that they can run.
If this query ABC has columns A,B,C,D which are all defaulted to be shown and the user decides they are not interested in columns B and C is there Access code that is equivilent to this pseudo-code?
I am using a subForm inside a parent. The subform is in the "dataview" format and it shows the data of a particular table (say 'Processus'). What I want to do is, when I insert a data from the parent form into the table processus, I want the child to display the the new record dynamically...

My client has a system whereby those employees who are off for extended periods of time (sick, Workmens Comp maternity etc) are re-assigned to a different division.
The table PERSONNEL contains all of the information for each employee. When someone in the sales division (for example) goes off long term ill their data is entered into table LTILL. Their info still remains in PERSONNEL as it is expected they will return at some point.
When I enter their data into LTILL, I would like to change thier division in PERSONNEL from sales to LTILL at the same time.
What would be the best way to go about this. The LTILL has no primary key. The obvious choice EMPLOYEENO is no good since a person my be transferred to LTILL more than once during their career.
"Dynamically search multiple fields" using my own customer data.
I'd like to add in additional searches as what he has will let you do one search but I'd like to, in his example, search on vintage and state, or the like. I assume Id need two multi-searches for this.
Right now the data is in excel so I have a completely blank page to fill.

I have a database with 200 clients. If a user pulls up a record and the customer's insurance has expired, is it possible to change the background color of the form so that this automatically alerts the user that this customer needs to be contacted and the record needs to be updated?
Or are there any other suggestions that may serve the same purpose?
I have a continuous form that has 5 columns of data per line and it also has a 6th column that I can enter data into. What I want to be able to do is if I enter data into the 6th column it will copy that record except the 5th column to a report.

I have an access table and I want the code that will check two columns in the table "EnvelopeType" and "EnvelopeSize" and create headers in Excelsheet automatically. In the attached workbook, like in sheet1 the headers are already appeared, I want this to be done dynamically using vba code so that if new values get inserted in EnvelopeType and EnvelopeSize then we won't have to change the code to display more headers.

I am trying to change the button color on a subform if a related form data changes.Main form is products with a continuous subform with serial numbers of products i.e, serial number, location, price and a button to add addtional issues if there are any for this particular serial number (this will open up another form related to the serial number so I can add an issues if there are any).The reason I would like the button to be a different color is so I can quickly see if there are any additional notes been added to the serial number. Just in case you may ask why not add the field to the continuos form is that the issues and be quite lengthy and there may be lots of serial numbers on the form
Hello Guys, I have proj name m1.mdb which has forms and reports.I have 2 forms form1 ,form2.In form2 I have button that creates new database named m2_date.mdb and creates report and form1 by using property DoCmd.TransferDatabase acExport, "Microsoft Access", sFilename, acForm, "form1", "form1", StructureOnly, StoreLogin,now this form1 has to be seen first when any user doubleclicks m2_user.mdb,so my question is, is there any way i can setup startup form properties dynamically ,without using startup form manually from tool properties of toolbar. hope to get answer.. thanks vsap

I have created a report to display a bill of materials (boms). The report works as I have designed. I have also figured out how to filter the report using the docmd.openreport vbasic call with filters. This works fine. I use a form to select the filtering I need in the form of 2 Listboxes populated from tables. The form opens, the report generates and displays in preview mode. What I cannot do is the change the title text (Text Label on the report Header). I would like to use the selected items in the listboxes as sources of text for these controls on the report so I can use the report over and over for different boms. ANy help would be greatly appreciated! Vbasic I hope!

I'm trying to find some code to allow a datasheet form to link to a csv file.I'd like the link to the data to be dynamic so it connects when the form loads as the access database will be run from a network share by multiple people at the same time.
The CSV file will be different for each user and reside on their local PCs in their profile folders.

I currently have a Job Management System where the Customer Order Form displays all jobs via a main form and an order details subform. This form is used for inputting new jobs and for viewing existing jobs via links from other reports such as a job schedule or customer orders report. It is always reached via a clicking of a "New Customer Order" Button where the form is filtered to new record or via double clicking on an order number in another screen and filtered via the order number.
I am now in a position where the database is growing too large and I want to archive the data in the Orders / OrderDetails Tables into Financial Years and put them in a separate backend database. However the jobs will still need to be viewed via the customer order form in order for them to be duplicated the following year.
I have created a union query of the PreviousFY and Current Orders to allow the "search jobs by customer" query to work. This works fine, but I now need to make the record source of the Customer Order form dynamic.
I have created a CurrentFY query to feed the form if it is a current job and a PrevFY query if it's from the previous FY.
I have written code to check the OrderDate against the financial year to work out which database the job is from and set recordsource according to that result. This is currently in the OnCurrent event as I also have other code there that checks details of the order to determine if fields should be editable.
However I am finding that when I parse the order data between the forms the "new record" command or the order number is not being retained or checked. If this because I don't have a recordsource set when it opens?
I tried setting the recordsource as the currentFY on open and then do the check but that didn't work.

It works without the "setFocus" for the Listbox except it jumps to a record after the very first character is entered instead of narrowing down as characters are typed. If I leave in the "setFocus" I get run-time error 2110.
