Email Triggered By Query Date
May 20, 2014
I would like to create a query that would do the following give me all dates that occurred within the last six months triggered by a date entered into table which when reached it would trigger an email being sent. To explain more detail I am working on a funeral home database. (Which seems like a never ending but I am learning so much so I want to keep building it). Once I enter the date of death field name (DOD) I want query to all deaths that happen prior to past six months from current date. Which would trigger and email that would notify me to send a follow up letter for family.

I am trying to query my records by the current records selected date then send the results in the body of an email on click. I believe I am close but I think there is a problem with the date format because I am getting 3421 Data type conversion error. Here is what I have:
Code:
Private Sub eMail_Click()
On Error GoTo EH
Dim dbExceptions As Database
Dim rstExceptions As Recordset
Dim dbDate As Database
Dim rstDate As Recordset
[code]...

I have a combobox which needs to call a function f(combobox.value) during its onChange event. Currently though, combobox.value appears not to change before the onChange event, and so the function receives the wrong (last) value.
Note - the actual text in the text field of the combobox *has* changed to the new value before the onChange event occurs.
Any ideas why this might be?
Edit - Also the problem doesn't happen when selecting with the mouse, only when using the up and down arrow keys to move through the list.

I have a form which displays information in the footer until the use has accomplished some tasks. Once I verify that all is well I allow the user to change the fields in the footer. I want to verify that the proper changes were made but the BeforeUpdate event does not fire until the form is closed.

I have a table in Access with a field End Date with couple of other fields like Company Name and Description associated with the End Date as one record. In other words, one record has fields Company Name, Description and End Date.how could I get Access trigger an email automatically to a set of people let's say a month before the End Date is approaching. If the End Date is 30/4/2015, I would need Access to be triggering an email to the recipients on 30/3/2015.

I have a query (Access 2007) that contains a field named "email" (which contains email addresses, of course). I want to email everyone in the query and they are all going to receive the same message. My email to them doesn't have to be personalized and I don't need to collect data from the recipients. I don't even need a reply to the email I send.

Often I use Labels as buttons due to the fact I can colour them the way I want, and use the on click event to trigger code.
The code below however works for a command button, but not a label button.
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmdatetime"
Do While Forms!frmdatetime!OKFlag.Caption = "False"
DoEvents
Loop
When this code is run by clicking on a command button, it works fine.
If run by clicking on a label, frmdatetime opens, but the mouse will not work on either of the 2 open forms unless you go down to the windows task bar, jump onto another window, and back onto frmdatetime.
If I remove the loop with the DoEvents in it, then the problem does not occur.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this behaviour occurs.
Thanks
Richard

HI all,
I've been searching the threads, but to no avail! (be gentle - a curious beginner in a crazy world of demands!)
My database (table) has a date field, when this date is 'now()' I need to send a reminder email to a 1 collegue and 'cc' 2 others. And automatically change the background colour of the date field; say to red.
A step by step guide would be great, or a nudge in the direction of a good example would help,
Thanks for your time,
Id

I have a form that contains six boxes with the run out date for six different types of employee vaccinations each box contains a conditional format that allows it to change colour to highlight how close they are to requiring another course of injections (Green = within 6 weeks, Amber = within 2 weeks and Red = Out of date).
What i would like is similar to the conditional formatting be able to auto email the individual on the 6 week 2 week and if they happen to run out of date.
Not sure how difficult this will be my access knowledge is vastly improving so any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.s I have searched the access forums and only came close with a birthday greeting style auto email but the fact i want to be a pain and auto email at different intervals hampered that idea!
Thanks in advance Darren

I have a subform which makes a change to a field on the main form. When focus is returned to the main form, the BeforeUpdate and AfterUpdate events fire. Why? I thought from the form's perspective, the subform is just another control.
BTW, I get the same behavior if I modify the field from within the Exit event of the subform control.
In either case, the main form's Dirty event is NOT triggered.

VBA Code to go in the on double_click event of a name field in a Subform bound to a table. The subform is just a copy of a data table and within the subform view, When the field "employee name" which contains e.g. John is double clicked, I would like access to Lookup and get John's email in the employee table under field "Email" and launch outlook application and insert it into the To field.
I assume hyperlinking the field can also achieve this similar to what excel does but I am fast learning that what is standard functionality in excel is a whole another story in Access..

I have a form which has a button to email the data out in a standard email message.
Private Sub Command60_Click()
Dim MyDb As dao.Database
Dim rsEmail As dao.Recordset
Dim sToName As String
Dim sSubject As String
Dim sMessageBody As String
[code]...
This works well enough, however, FIELDS 11 through to 16 contain the venue address. This is all we ll and good if every field of the venue address is populated. here are times when not all of the fields are populated, for instance, the address might only be 5 lines.I know I can do this using IIf statements on a report, but how can i achieve the same thing for the email.

Name trainee Email Training
John John@mail.com Tr one
Mary Mary@mail.com Tr two
I also made a button in a report with the title "Send Mail" now is my goal that if i press that button automatically multiple e-mail message's will be generated with data from people in that query. So if click on that "Send Email" button i want two different mails messages generated that will be send to John@mail.com and Mary@mail.com with in the mail body their data.

Hello,
I am relatively new to Access and have a basic contact information database. There are some who do not have emails or faxes, so I need to find a way to do a query to get a list of those who have e-mail addresses or faxes so we can send out a mass mail/fax blast. I might have to distinguish those from certain states also. Any help with coding or whatever it is that I need to do is appreciated!
Thanks,

I hope I can explain this clearly. I'd be really grateful if anyone could help.
I need to set up some sort of contacts database at work.
I need (I think, after having a little think about it) one table, filled with people, (their names, contact details ect) and basically various queries to pull up people in certain groups. Say for instance, people who attend meeting a, b, c, (in a simplised, condensed version of the truth)
I did think about doing this with various tables actually. A contacts table, a meetings table, blah blah, but anyway. (Any advice on this incidentally would be great).
My main problem though. We often have to email all the people who attend say meeting a. We have contacts on our email systems, but they're different from person to person, and as the company is updating email systems, we can't even send contacts lists to everyone, as they're not compatible.
What I'd love is to be able to call up a list of people attending meeting a from my database and email each of those people (their contact details would include email address of course)
Does that make sense?
Is there any way of doing this?
I'd be really happy if anyone knew...
