Error Message When Trying To Use Custom Macro Built To Pull Text Data From A File

It is my understanding that a custom macro was built to pull text data from a file and import it into Access in the appropriate fields. This macro no longer works and will return the following error message:
"License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in design mode."
It only gives an option to click OK. When you do it shows a box called "Action Failed" that lists the macro name, condition, action name, and arguments with three button to click on the right of the box: "Step" "Halt" and "Continue". It appears that only the "Halt" button is available to be clicked.
Does this sound like an issue with the Access license or whatever license the macro might have? We're trying to decide if it's possible to restore the functionality of the macro.

I have a text file linked to this database, and I'm trying to create a Query that will pull all of the data out of this text file, and add a rank if two of the values match in multipe records.So in other words, when multiple records have the same [JOBNBR] , I want to evaluate the [TIMESTAMP] value to see if it is the smallest one, and so on.I don't want to create multiple queries to do this, is there any way to do this? Here's what I have:

Good day to all:
I have created a database in access with multiple fields.
I have restricted to entering data a specific field with numbers only, but I would like to display a custom error message instead of the default access message. For example: "You can only enter a number in this field" and for another field; you must enter a name in this field if someone tries to ignore a specific field.
Any ideas on how to go about this?

Well, my PK field is one users enter in manually (please don't ask why). What I need is something that checks to see if the number in that field is a duplicate key, so I can tell users via msgbox "Duplicate Number, try again". Right now, it's not that descriptive, it says "You can't go to the specified record". I guess all i need is an If statment, but I don't know the code that checks to see if [field1]'s value has already been used in my table. Any ideas?

Having set a table short text field to 'Indexed (No Duplicates)', I have a form which produces a '2105 runtime error' when the user attempts to submit a duplicate value. I would like to replace this default error message with a more user-friendly MsgBox.
My code for the SaveRecord button is:

I created a split database. The backend went on a shared network drive where all my users have read/write priviledges. Then I gave each of my users a copy of the front end that they put on their local computers. According to all of my research, with this setup Access is suppose to allow multiple users in the database simultaneously. However, if anyone tries to open the database when someone else is already using it they get the error message "file in use".
I've confirmed with IT and the Admin for the folder that all of my users have read/write priviledges to the shared drive housing the backend. There are only 6 users and usually it is only 2 who want to use database simultaneously.
My IT person said that they have heard this type of problem with Access before. Usually, people have to shell out money and get a server because Microsoft's claim that Access can run on a shared drive is usually untrue.There is no way I'm going to get a server so I have to make the database on a shared drive work.

I am trying to complete a macro that starts with importing of a text file. However, when I go to complete the steps in the macro, I do not see the specs for the import file that i created. There is a dropdown with a few specs for me to choose from in the box titled "Specification Name" when I am completing the action titled ImportExport Text. However, none of those specs are the right ones.
When I go to "Saved Imports" I can plainly see the import that I am interested in. So is a Saved Import different than a spec? If so, what steps do I need to do to create the spec?

I was working with one access application 2 months ago and I stoped. Now, I opened this access file and try to continue with it.
But I have problem! On every button, when I click on this button (it could be button for cllosing form or any other) there is one message box with followed text:
"Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost."
I have no ideao what is going on! Even, when I create new form, put the button on it, when I click on this button, the same message appears.
Can someone help me? What is wrong with with my Access or with my Windows.

I have Pentium IV, 512 MB Ram, Windows XP, and MS Access 2000.

I have a vba code export a error message if the current date of a file is not correct.. I have tested the code it worked to send a error message to a error.txt file but he it doesn't look to the modified date
So instead of:
file1.txt (13-02-14)
Then
Send error message ("file not updated") to: Error.txt
IF NOT

I have a search query that searches for different results based on 3 criterior. I have set up a form so that the user can input the text into the form and then once the Submit button (that i created) is clicked the query table will be shown.
My question is:
Is it possible to have an error message box appear when i click submit and no data is returned by the search query?
I'm hoping for the message box to say "No corresponding records to your search criteria. Do you want to try again?"
Then the options given in the message box are Yes (where they should be taken back to the search form) and No (Where they are taken to another form).

I have a small problem with the following command:

The file C:Data.Txt contains 5 columns, separated by a semicolon with the first line containing the names of the columns. The concern is that when the linked table is created, I get a single column with all fields concatenated value. the following style :
Col1;Col2;Col3; : Column name
Val1;Val2;Val3; : Row value
What does do to have columns separated with the corresponding values?

Up until recently (not exactly sure when) I've been absolutely fine importing text files into Access 97 with the import wizard, where the file extension is .log Now, every time I do it, I get Error 3027 unable to update as database/object is read only.
if I change the filename to .txt it works, but if I leave it as .log I get that error.

I have tried the code below, but I am not getting what I need. I have a table [Student Info] with a field [Student ID] as the primary key and many other fields. I added the Student ID field to my form, [Student Add]. When I input an ID that already exists I get an error code as expected but then my form still loads. I currently have a second form for updating student info [Student Update] for which I have a parameter form that asks for the Student ID. I would like to use just one form to add and update students if possible. So, if you add a new Student ID you can enter all pertinent data. However, if you enter a duplicate Student ID the form should populate with that student's information.
If I must have two forms (1 to add and 1 to update) and a duplicate Student ID is entered into the Add form, the user should get a message stating that the record already exists. Then, (Option 1) force the Add form to close without saving or (Option 2) give an option for opening the Update form. Either option is acceptable at this point because I am stuck.
When attempting to use the code below, I get a data mismatch error on the "Answer = DLookUp......" line.
Here's one I use on Social Security numbers for a pop up when a duplicate....

I would like to create a custom pop-up Message when one attempts to add a duplicate record.
Currently, I have a default pop-up message when you try to add a duplicate record. I set the field as Indexed= yes(No Duplicates) which generates a default pop-up message but it is technical and wordy. I would like to be able to simplify the wording to just let the user know not to add a duplicate record.

Hi all. Can't seem to find a similar thread although I'm sure there must be one.
I have a macro that runs update queries when exiting the database. What I'd like to do is display a message whilst the updates are running. However, I only seem to halt the macro until the user clicks the ok button on the message box.
Any ideas?

I have created a custom message box form that suits my needs for this particular situation. It is called (opened) in the middle of a bunch of other VBA procedures. What I am having a problem with is how do I "pause" the rest of the code from running after the message box call?
For example, with a regular msgbox() function, once called, the code will wait for the user input or click of a button, then continue. My problem is that I am using the basic docmd.openform procedure, and it opens the message box form just fine, but then continues on with the rest of the code after the form is opened.
How would I "pause" the code after the call of opening my custom message box form, then continue it after the user clicks one of my closing buttons from that form?
Furthermore, although its not entirely needed in this situation, for future reference, how would I have that message box form return a value to the calling procedure?
